K-State Zimbra WebMail Configuration

K-State Zimbra is Kansas State Universitys new e-mail and calendaring system. It can
be used in a web browser or from a local e-mail client such as Pegasus Mail or Mozilla
Thunderbird. When you first use Zimbra, there are a few options to configure to help
make your experience with Zimbra better.

To Change Your E-mail Address from @k-state.edu to @ksu.edu


1. We recommend using <your eID>@ksu.edu as your e-mail address. However,
this is not the default in K-State Zimbra. To change this, first login to K-State
Zimbra by going to http://webmail.ksu.edu on any web browser (ex: Mozilla
Firefox or Internet Explorer).
2. Click the Options tab at the top of the page.
3. Click the Accounts button.
4. Under the Messages sent from this account have the following settings area
beside your name on the right hand side you can select your e-mail address. This
setting needs to be <your eID>@ksu.edu.
5. Click Save.
6. Click Yes to save your settings.

To Create a Signature
Login to K-State Zimbra at http://webmail.ksu.edu.
Click the Options tab.
Click the Signatures button.
Click the Edit button.
In the Signature Name area type in a name for the signature such as Normal
or Work.
6. Under the Signature Name, this large textbox is where your contact information
is to be entered in. Enter in the information you would like included in your
signature.
7. When finished click Done.
8. Below the signature, there are two options of where the signature will be placed in
the message, either above the included messages or below the included messages.
We recommend having the signature above the included message.
9. When finished click Done.
10. To save your changes click Yes.

11. Now you must enable the signature. To do this click the Accounts button while
still on the Options tab.
12. At the bottom of the primary account settings, there is a drop down box by
signature. Click it for signature options.
13. Find your signature and select it. This will enable your signature to be added to
future e-mails.

To Create Mail Filters


Login to K-State Zimbra at http://webmail.ksu.edu.
Click the Options tab.
Click the Mail Filters button.
Click New Filter.
After clicking New Filter, a popup box will appear. A mail filter can be set to
filter by message subject, from, senders address, and many other ways. Choose
which part of the message you would like to filter on in the first menu, how it
should match in the second, and then enter the text to check it against in the third
box. Next, choose an action to perform when a message matches your set criteria,
such as moving a message to another folder.
6. Click OK to save your filter.
