V. PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED (Before, During, After

Duty)
Jean Paulene W. Rivera
Before our duty, we didnt encounter that much problem because
we didnt have a hard time in finding a restaurant that would accept
us to take our OJT in.
During our duty, I was really drained from the amount of work we
are getting in the restaurant during the earliest days of our OJT,
mainly because I am not used to it. We work for about 11 to 12 hours
daily with a day off in a week. But as we go along my body got used
to it. I was happy with the work because I am really learning. There
have been no big problem/s that I have encountered fortunately
other than dealing with impatient customers every time I am
assigned to be the Guest Service Assistant.

After our duty I am thankful because I really learned so much and

I was exposed in the different areas in the restaurant.

IX. LEARNING EXPERIENCES OF EACH TRAINEE

(SUMMARY)

Jean Paulene W. Rivera

Working in the Food Service industry is not a

job that is something to be under-estimated.

Physically, I was really drained during the
early days of our OJT, mainly because I
was not used to that amount of strenuous
works. We stand for hours, serve all kinds
of people, have to smile all day, go to
work early and go home very late.
Despite all of this, it was all worth it I
could say, because I really learned so
much.

The first thing I learned here is patience.

Patience because to be able to withstand
the most demanding customer you have to
be very considerate and understanding.
Second is, you should be wise enough and
you should learn how to negotiate. You should
learn how to be able to recommend and sell your
products for the benefit of the store. Also, you should learn how to
work on pressure, and time really is essential in this industry. You have to be
fast enough and at the same time correct and accurate in everything that you
do. In the food service industry you work as a team, no matter what.
