Reduction and Refining units of the aluminium plant, the cogeneration plant, the power plant at Renusagar.
Learned about alumina refining process, reduction to aluminium metal and its fabrication to usable products, AC to DC
Rectification for smelter unit, about the WCM (World Class Manufacturing) concept, quality circle and the six sigma
concept to improve the quality and quantity of the production and gain the maximum profits.

Did Industrial Training in SAIL Bokaro, to have an understanding of Electrical Technology used in Steel production.
Visited turbo blower station, outdoor pipe line (to carry steam, flue gas and water in the plant), power distribution
network of the plant, learned about repair and insulation/phase sequence testing of AC/DC motors windings. Learned
about the various sensors, transducers for measurement and PLC cards.

Undergone industrial training to have an overview of electric power generation, distribution and control. Visited coal
handling plant, boiler, turbine, generator, control panel, distribution grid, and water treatment plant.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE
BE Project on Economic Dispatch of Power Generation
Jan09 - May10
The idea of the project was to find the real and reactive power scheduling of each power plant in an interconnected
power system in such a way to minimize the operating cost.
Optimized the cost function using The Newtons Method through suitable MATLAB programs.
Reduced the total generation cost by significant amount.
