Introduction
One of the problems that teachers have encountered in the
classrooms or in school is the way the students destruct or improperly
use and care the properties of the school. This problem is not just an
ordinary problem to some schools, but a very common school-wide
problem met by the teachers and administrators in almost all schools.
School properties are getting damaged and not anymore useful for
instruction, and the teachers are alarmed to this problem since they are
to take responsibilities of the properties they have in their respective
classrooms.
In Banaybanay National High School, some of the school properties
have been destroyed or damaged already not by natural destructions but
because of the students negative or bad attitude towards them, or
improperly use them as they do not care theyve wasted the money of
the government. As this problem arises, the school is to experience
insufficiency of instructional materials, furniture, and/or even the
learning-support facilities, and this will affect much the performance of
the school in the division or even in the regional level.

II. The Problem

The study aims to minimize the destruction of school properties by
the students in Banaybanay National High School. And, how to start going
through the appropriate actions for this problem?
III. Review of Related Literature
Students Behavior
In school, the students behave differently compared to the behavior
they have at home. They are playful by nature and curious of the things
they see around. They can only see new and unusual things in school,
and because of their curiosity and eagerness to touch and operate them,
they might get them damaged or destroyed without knowing that they

should have to know and learn first the instructions or standard

procedures in handling and caring those things or properties in school.
Proper Use and Care of Equipment
The proper use and care of the equipment or tools is one way of
saving money. It is also giving importance to the usage and benefits we
could get from them. Properties in schools such as laboratory apparatus,
computer sets, sound systems, gardening tools, Home Economics
equipment and other school properties are to be taken cared much as
long as the support for the delivery of instruction in school is concern,
especially when the materials are donated, owned by the government,
and/or even purchased for educational use. Destructions and damages
on school properties maybe avoided by simply following the rules and
guidelines on handling and operating them. To some extent, an
orientation on the standard procedures of using the equipment might
need to be initiated.
IV. Methodology
This study uses the principle of the triangulation method where the
sources of data gathered are from the respondents with immediate and
direct access to the problem such as the School Property Custodian,
Class Adviser(s), and students. Interview is the instrument appropriate to
be used in gathering data on this method. The respondents will be given
interview questions written in a piece of paper.
This study covers the whole duration of the School Year 2012-2013.
Procedures
The following activities will be taken to gather data on how to
minimize destruction of school properties by the students in Banaybanay
National High School:
1.

Invite the respondents and talk with them the purposes of the study;

2. Give the respondents the set of interview questions written in a piece

of paper and let
them answer comfortably in their vacant times;
3.
Collect the answers after having them well-accomplished by the
respondents; and

4. Get ready all the data gathered for interpretation.
