DECEASED There are a number of Funerals arranged for the next few weeks. Please pray for
the repose of their souls.

Val Corcoran RIP who died recently, his body will be received into Our Lady of Peace
Church on Wednesday, 21st January at 4.00pm, and his Requiem Mass will be on
Thursday, 22nd January at 11.00am, followed by burial at Slough Cemetery.

Christina Ann Watson who died recently, her Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, 27th
January at 1.00pm at Slough Crematorium.

Terence Jemmett who died last week, his Requiem Mass will be on Friday, 6th
February at 10.00am at St Andrews, followed by cremation at Slough Crematorium.

May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from
7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer,
praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with Worship, Scripture,
Silence and Divine Mercy Prayer at St Andrews every Thursday from 8.30am 9.30am. All
welcome.
THE SLOUGH WINTER NIGHT SHELTER PROJECT has started and will extend for 12 weeks
to the end of March. The purpose of the project is to provide food, shelter and companionship to
the homeless of Slough. Churches and Church halls in and around Slough provide the venues
for the Shelter with a different location being used every night of the week. We are always
looking for new volunteers. If you are over 18 and feel you could help with any of the following
then please register your interest by emailing admin@sloughnightshelter.org or call John Power
on 07837333986.

Volunteers to help set up the venues, meet and greet, serve food and act as
companions for our guests. Time from 7.00pm to 10.00pm .
Volunteers to stay overnight with the night porter and help serve breakfast in the
morning. Time from 10.00pm to 7.00am.
Volunteer drivers to drive a minibus from central Slough to the venue in the evening.
Time from 7.00pm to 8.00pm
Volunteer drivers to take and minibus from the venue to central Slough and back in the
morning. Time from 6.30 am to 7.30am

There is no minimum commitment. If you can commit to one shift that will be a huge help. We
also need people to help raise funds. We are on just giving, please see
www.justgiving.com/londonandsloughrun' Do you have a spare adult sleeping bag you could
donate? If so please contact admin@sloughnightshelter.org.

CAN YOU HELP? St Andrews Shared Church Foodbank distribution point for Cippenham.
Every Wednesday 11am-2.00pm. They need volunteers to work alongside Foodbank in St
Andrews, working on a rota. Full training given. For further information please contact Revd
Janet Minkkinen, Vicar 07856047960 or 01628 661994. Slough Foodbank thank us for the
donations on 17th, 19th and 30th December, they weighed in total 159.3kgs, which is equivalent to
about 160 individual meals. They currently have more than enough of baked beans, chick peas,
kidney beans and pasta, but welcome tins of meat, long life milk, long life fruit juices and
potatoes, both dried and tinned. Thank you again.
ST BERNARD'S CATHOLIC GRAMMAR SCHOOL is looking to recruit a Science Technician to
work 30-37 hours per week. The position will be Term Time plus Inset Days and involves
working closely with teaching staff and organising practical support for all science teaching in the
school. If you are interested in this position please contact the school on 01753 527020. All
successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check.
DATES FOR YOUR DIARIES
BISHOP PETER invites the Diocese to the Cathedral on Wednesday, 21st January at 7.30pm for
a Service to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Vatican II's Decree on Ecumenism; also invited
are any Ecumenical friends you may have. Archbishop Longley will be preaching, and there will
be guests from other Christian Churches present in our Diocese
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSES The next session is on
Saturday, 24th January from 9.30am 11.00am at St Andrews
Church, Cippenham. Please continue to pray for our children so
that they will grow in their appreciation of the sacraments of
Confession and Holy Communion.
WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY begins on Monday, 19th January. There will be
an Ecumenical service, arranged by Burnham Churches Together, at Our Lady of Peace Church
on Sunday, 25th January at 3.00pm, followed by refreshments.
ALPHA COURSE is being run at St Mary's Church, Hitcham, beginning Tuesday, 27th
January, 7.45pm-9.30pm, for anyone who would like to explore the basic Gospel message.
ST ANTHONYS, CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL is celebrating its 75th Anniversary Year. We
are hoping to mount an exhibition of memorabilia and photographs, and would welcome any
contributions that you might have. Were you at the school? Did you teach, serve lunch, or
support the school in any way? Your memories will be collated into a book for future generations
to enjoy. Please contact the school on 01753 645828. We would also like to invite you to view
the exhibition on Wednesday 4th or Thursday 5th February, between 4.00pm. and 6.00pm. Do
come and share your experiences.
ST PATRICK'S DAY Please make a particular note in your diary that there will be a night of
celebration in St Andrew's Church on Saturday, 14th March. Further details to follow. There will
be a licensed bar.
