COMPUTER NETWORKS AND COMMUNICATIONS

A computer networks can be defined as asystem of interconnected between computer and

peripheral devices such as computers, cameras and speakers.Networks can exchange and
share data and resources in computer. These interconnected can be successes by using
hardware and software together through rules of data and communications.

Communications is about transfer of informations or data from a sender to a receiver through

a distance. The transmitted form of codes using electricity, radio waves or light through a
physical medium. Two types of signals used to sent informations are analog and digital .

MOBILE COMPUTING

Mobile computing can be defined as generic term describing one's

ability to use technology while moving, as opposed to portable
computers, which are only practical for use while deployed in a
stationary configuration.

INTERNET TECHNOLOGY AND SERVICES

1. VoIP (Voice-Over-Internet Protocol)

a technology that allows telephone calls to be made over computer networks like the
Internet. VoIP converts analog voice signals into digital data packets and supports
real-time, two-way transmission of conversations using Internet Protocol (IP)

2. BLOG

a type of website where is usually maintained by

an individual with regular entries of
commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.

TYPES OF NETWORK

1. PAN(Personal Area Network)

A computer network used for communication among computer devices close to one
person.
2. VPN(Virtual Private Network)

a computer network in which constructed by using public wires to connect nodes are
carried by open connections or virtual circuits in some larger network .

3. WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network)

provide wireless network communication over short distances using radio or infrared
signals instead of traditional network cabling.

4. WIMAX(Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access)

the industry term for a long-range wireless networking standard where is it technology
has the potential to deliver high-speed Internet access to rural areas and other
locations not serviced by cable or DSL technology. WiMax also offers an alternative
to satellite Internet services.

CONCLUSION

Computer communication, it seems, will become a much more useful networking tool when
large numbers of people with similar interests acquire access to the technology. Though it can
expedite the formation of new interpersonal networks by overcoming the space and time
barriers faced by traditional networking techniques, it still requires a great deal of
concentrated effort and resources to get the people to use it. This problem should become
increasingly minimized over the coming years as the technological innovations become more
diffused throughout society.
