Procedures for operating the CPU Android-based Mobile Electronics Laboratory:

Before starting the operation:

1. Make sure to have downloaded the CAMEL software application onto the
Android phone or tablet.
2. Make sure the phone or tablet has enough battery to last the experiment.
3. Make sure to turn on the Screen Rotation Button and the Bluetooth button on the
phone or tablets settings.
4. Plug the 5V Printer Cable to your Laptop, PC, or USB adaptor, and connect the
other end to the CAMEL device
5. If the devices red LED indicator is blinking, it is powered up and ready for
Bluetooth communication.

For VOLTMETER, AMMETER and OHMMETER application:

6. Open the CAMEL software application from your phone or tablet. Turn ON the
microcontroller-based remote controller, the switch is found on its side.
7. Click the METER button located at the home screen. The app will crash if
Screen Rotation is not turned on. Repeat if necessary.
8. Click Turn On to turn-on your phone or tablets Bluetooth, and click yes if
permission is required.
9. Click Search new Devices to search available Bluetooth devices within range.
By clicking the button again, it will turn cancel the search.
10. Find and click the device, default name H-C-2010-06-01 at the list to connect
the device to the application.
11. If the connection failed, turn-off the phone or tablets Bluetooth and turn it on
again, then try to from repeat instruction 6.
12. If Bluetooth connection is complete, the devices blue LED indicator will start
blinking, and Bluetooth Opened will pop up on the software application.
13. Slide down to reveal the Voltmeter, Ammeter, and Ohmmeter result display
screen.
For OSCILLOSCOPE application:

14. Open the CAMEL software application from your phone or tablet. Turn ON the
microcontroller-based remote controller, the switch is found on its side.
15. Click the SCOPE button located at the home screen. The app will crash if
Screen Rotation is not turned on. Repeat if necessary.
16. Click connect to turn-on your phone or tablets Bluetooth, and click yes if
permission is required.
17. A list of paired devices will be shown. Find and click the device, default name
H-C-2010-06-01 to connect the device to the application.
18. If the connection failed, turn-off the phone or tablets Bluetooth and turn it on
again, then try to repeat instruction 16.
19. If Bluetooth connection is complete, the devices blue LED indicator will light up,
and Bluetooth Opened will pop up on the software application.
20. Click the back button to reveal the Oscilloscope display.
For Operation of the CAMEL device

21. There are five buttons on the device: the VOLTMETER, AMMETER,
OHMMETER, OSCILLOSCOPE, and CLEAR.
22. Make sure all the buttons are turned off. If two or more buttons are turned on, the
results will not be received by the phone or tablet.
VOLTMETER
23. Click the VOLT button on the device to turn-on the VOLTMETER operation.
24. The red probe is positive, and the black probe is ground.
25. The placement of probes in the circuit, function in the same way as a regular
Voltmeter in a DMM.
26. Always remember that the device s only capable of measure DC Voltage raging
from 0V to 20V.
27. The results of the VOLTMETER will be shown on the Application.
28. Click the VOLT button again to turn-off the VOLTMETER operation.
AMMETER
29. Click the AMP button on the device to turn-on the AMMETER operation.
30. The red probe is positive, and the black probe is ground.
31. DO NOT connect the probes to a circuit operating from an external voltage
source. Because of the limitations of the microcontroller, the AMMETER will
only function if the microcontroller itself supplies the voltage of 5V to the circuit.
32. Connect the voltage source protruding from the side of the device to the circuit.

33. To measure the current, the placement of probes in the circuit, function in the
same way as a regular Ammeter in a DMM.
34. The results of the AMMETER will be shown on the Application.
35. Click the AMP button again to turn-off the AMMETER operation
OHMMETER
36. Click the OHM button on the device to turn-on the OHMMETER operation.
37. The red probe is positive, and the black probe is ground.
38. The placement of probes in the circuit, function in the same way as a regular
Ohmmeter in a DMM.
39. The results of the OHMMETER will be shown on the Application.
40. Click the OHM button again to turn-off the OHMMETER operation.
OSCILLOSCOPE
41. Click the OSC button on the device to turn-on the OHMMETER operation.
42. The red probe is positive, and the black probe is ground.
43. The placement of probes in the circuit, function in the same way as a regular
Oscilloscope.
44. Click Start Stream button to start waveform streaming.
45. For the results of the OSCILLOSCOPE to be shown, the screen of the application
should be tapped repeatedly.
46. Click the Auto Scroll X button to automatically scroll through the X-axis.
47. Click the Lock X-axis button to lock the X-axis.
48. Click the - button to decrease resolution.
49. Click the + button to increase resolution.
50. Click the OSC button again to turn-off the OSCILLOSCOPE operation.
CLEAR
51. Click the CLEAR button on the device to clear the results.
52. When the experiment is finished, click the back button of the phone or tablet to
exit the application.
