The Noble prophet SAW is reported to have said:

He has wronged me who performs hajj yet fails to visit me.

Another hadith says : With the exception of Masjid E
Haram, the offering of one namaz in my mosque(Masjid ENabawi SAW) is better than offering a thousand namaz in any
mosque.
In another hadith, the holy prophet SAW is quoted as saying:
In between my house and my pedastal (Membar) lies a garden
of heaven.!
Whenever the almighty grants us the rare honour of visiting the
sacred presincts of the Masjid E Nabawi SAW, we should
wear the best clothes available , apply itr and perform wudhu
with miswak and proceed towards the mosque with outmost
dignity and respect. Enter the mosque with the right foot first
and recite:
Bismillahi was sallatu was salamu alla Rasulilla he
Allahumaf Tahle Abawa ba Rahmatik
Then offer two rakah nafil ( if possible in RIYAZ-ULJANNAH) and proceed towards the sacred resting place . With
deep reverence and utmost respect stand facing the sacred face
of the dear Prophet SAW and offer salutations in a soft and
polite manner. The noble Prophet SAW deserves to be honoured
in his resting place with the same dignity as he was respected
when he was alive. The almighty Allah commands us thus:
Oh You who believe ! (Lower your voices ) do not raise your
voice against the voice of the prophet (Surah Hujurat)
Therefore, it is not permissible for anyone to shout or raise the
voice and do anything against the sanctity of that honourable
place as this may amount to hurting the dear Prophet SAW .
Similarly, it is not feasible to touch or kiss the grills of the
Prophet SAWs is resting place too.
After offering SALAAM AND DUROOD to the beloved
Prophet SAW, turn towards the Qibla and pray fervently to
Allah for HIS favours. The Prophet SAW has himself taught us
to pray to Allah alone and ask Allah alone for all favours.
Before proceeding towards the sacred mosque for salutation,
offer sadaqa.
Amongst the other etiquettes of this sacred visit, one is that we
should freely spend on the inhabitants of Madina, we should
never criticize anything of this city. Also one should never
adopt any innovation while on this visit Offer every (FARD)
Namaz punctually in the mosque of the Prophet SAW, besides
recite frequently durood, tilawath , dua and other Sunnah & nafl
prayers .
Plz do not use cell phones inside the mosque.
May Allah give us the ability to understand every aspect of deen
in the right light and may HE give us the ability to adhere to all
the sunnats of the Prophet SAW. AMEEN
