WHATSAPP IS KILLING MINDS!

A Saudi man divorced his wife after she ignored his whatsapp messages. The husband said
that his wife used to spend all her time on whatsapp messaging platform. Due to the addiction,
she even ignored her children. Whatsapp is not a new thing in the market. Even the people who
are not educated are well aware of the messaging platform. The messaging app that started as
a boon can turn into a bane, if not used carefully . It is killing mind of people. Do you agree?
Yes
The youngsters are getting addicted to the messaging platform like other addictive substances.
It is more of an addiction rather than convenience.
People are not using the messaging platform for connecting with friends or relatives instead
they just want to check out the their presence on messaging platform.
A messaging platform connects people, but whatsapp is creating bridges between people. The
app, in many cases, is creating unnecessary doubts in relationships.
The start as well as end of the day happens with whatsapp. And, if people dont find any
messages they start feeling low.
People are so occupied with the use of whatsapp that they are unable to differentiate between
real and factual relationships. We can easily notice that while you are talking all the time to your
friends on Whatsapp, you hardly have an interaction with your immediate family. This also
points out the fact that while people have a lot of friends on Whatsapp network, there's hardly
any friend available whom they can talk out their heart face to face.
No
Whatsapp has become the largest messaging app, and it is just because it has allowed people
to come closer to each other.
There are some people who are not involved in any work, and such people are only addicted
to whatsapp, not everyone.
Whatsapp has allowed the school friends and distant relatives to come and talk at one place. It
doesnt kill mind but helps the people to cherish the old good memories and relationships.
In a world, where people dont have time to meet friends, whatsapp has allowed people to
share their problems with friends on messaging platform regardless of time and location.
Whatsapp is now even used by many firms and organizations for sharing of important
information among employees.
If used properly, Whatsapp can help generate new business opportunities and close the
existing deals faster.

Conclusion
Every thing in this world has two sides, one positive and one negative. The use of Whatsapp is
no different. It is not a black or white app, but a grey app whose pros and cons are decided by
the user himself. The people are more isolated than before in the present world. Some make
their world better by using the app, and some make themselves more isolated after using this
app. In all the cases, balance is the key
LOVE MARRIAGE VS ARRANGE MARRIAGE - WHICH ONE IS BETTER?
Marriage is a very important social institution. Every individual wants to have a perfect match,
but the criteria for choosing the partner is different. In love marriages, individuals prefer to
choose their partners on their own, while in case of arrange marriages individuals prefers
partners chosen by their family or parents. There is a continuous debate regarding the best way
to choose the partner for marriage. Lets analyze which one of the two is better.
Love marriage
- Both individuals know each other already and mutually decide to spend the whole life with
each other.
-Couple is responsible for its choice and onus of the blame in future lies on the couple only and
nobody else.
-Couple is aware of each others likes and dislikes. Therefore they will get along well.
-Couple can eradicate social evil like dowry with their mutual consent because they have the
independence to take such decisions at their own level.
-The culture of the extravagant spending too can be curbed by the understanding between the
couple.
Arrange marriage:
-Arrange Marriage is not a contract between two individuals alone but a confluence of two
families.
-Two families involved in arrange marriages know each other very well and are compatible with
each other.
-Because there are more people involved in arrange marriage, the conflict between the couple
will be effectively resolved or mitigated.
-Couple is guided by parents experience whereas in love marriage couple is unknown about the
future complexities in life and lacks this experience.
Conclusion:
Both ways have their merits as well as demerits and marriage is a decision of lifetime. Though
families are involved in most of the marriages, its the couple which has to live together for

lifetime. So, the decision to choose life partner should be left to the individuals. Ultimately no
one can certify the best way for a perfect marriage life because like life marriages too are full of
uncertainties.

PRIVATIZATION IS THE WAY TO ELIMINATE CORRUPTION

The winter session of Parliament is here that started with a debate on the black money
controversy. The public, media and other political parties are demanding an answer from the
government on black money. The failure on black money and corruption issue is linked to a
perceived nexus that exists between big business houses, politicians, weak laws and poor
enforcement. India is one the biggest growth markets of the world. However, it is still at 85th
position in the study of perceived corruption in different countries. Many people believe that the
existing level of corruption can be reduced if India focusses more on privatization. Do you think
its true? Is Privatization the key to eliminate corruption?
Yes
The public companies are least bothered about the quantity and quality of the product as they
are accountable to the government which again is full of corrupt officials. This nexus is
eliminated in the private sector.
People get involved in corruption when they are not paid well. However the private sector
rewards the people with high salaries.
A private company is liable to answers its customers and stakeholders. The moral product
existing in sector hurts corruption.
The public sector survives with government funds even when they make losses but it is not the
same case in the private sector. So, they either have to perform or quit the business. This
reduces corruption.
Private organizations are able to attract more investments based on their performance, and
they are able to deliver because profits do not end up between the layers. This ultimately
reduces corruption.
No
The nature of the human being is the major factor responsible for corruption and it cannot be
tamed in any sector. Harshad Mehtas Scam of Rs. 4000 crore, Ketan Parekh Scam of about
Rs. 1000 crore and Satyam scam etc. are the various examples of big scams in private sector.
Even the companies in private sector where the salaries are less, employees dont have a
choice but to involve in unscrupulous activities to get monetary benefits.
It is the government that encourages corruption as there are no stringent laws to punish the
people charged for corrupt activities.
The only benefit of privatization is the improved quality of products which in no way is related
with reduced corruption.

The national integrity system and freedom of the press are the important factors that have
contributed most in making Denmark as least corrupt nation.
With 6th and 7th pay commissions the salaries of government employees are at par with the
private sector. So, we cant actually blame it on salaries.
Conclusion
Based on the arguments, it is clear that there is no surety that privatization can eliminate
corruption. To end corruption, it is necessary for the corporate, bureaucrats and politicians to
have fair motives involving welfare of people. The funds released should be used for the main
cause and should not make way towards personal accounts. Also, government should
implement stringent laws to control corruption. Last but not the least; it is the common people
who should take the responsibility to wipe out corruption from both public and private sector.

SHOULD TABLETS REPLACE TEXT BOOKS?

The present world is a tech-savvy world where children are more informed about the latest
gadgets and technological advancements. Many a times, elders need to consult the children to
know about the various features of mobile or tablet. Time is changing and it is really important to
analyze the ways through which education is imparted to the primary kids. In a changing
scenario, do you think tablets should take the place of text books in junior classes?
Yes
If tablets take the place of books the children dont have to carry the big bags full of different
books.
The present generation of children is more attracted towards technology and they will openly
learn the things on tablets.
The use of tablets will allow children from various backgrounds to stay updated with the latest
technology.
It will be more fun to learn and get the education on tablets. Children wont feel like they are
forced to study.
The use of tablets is one of the effective ways to save the environment. There will be no need
to cut the trees or opt for printing books.
No
Who said that tablets are an effective way to save the environment? Manufacturing of one
tablet uses 79 gallons of water and produces 66 pounds of carbon dioxide.
The technological devices should not be used for long term. It adversely affects the health of

the people.
The tablets are an expensive form of the education that cannot be afforded by children of all
sections.
The parents are not tech-savvy, and they might find it really difficult to guide the children in
their studies.
Books if lost or damage dont cost more, but if in any case tablet is lost or damaged it can
prove quite expensive to the parents.
Conclusion
There is no doubt that the world is getting more tech-savvy and digital. Still it is not the right time
to replace the books by tablets. The time will come when it will be feasible, when tablets will
become really cheap and the parents will be more comfortable with the new form of education.
But today it cannot be made compulsory.

SHOULD THERE BE AN INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT?

The international Criminal Court in The Hague is in news as the chief prosecutor withdrew severe
charges of crimes against humanity imposed on president of Kenya. It highlighted the court's
limits in pursuing powerful figures. The critics believe that the court is politicized and infringes in
nations sovereignty. At the same time, the supporters call for more powers to make
international criminal court an effective deterrent. So, what do you think? Should there be a
powerful International Criminal Court?
Yes
- The past shows that the court is supported by a number of states and has even opened
several investigations and completes several trials.
- The International Criminal Court is universal and eliminates the need of creating tribunal
whenever anything wrong happens.
- The court functions in a politically constrained space and therefore, instead of blaming it for its
shortcomings, it should be appreciated for its achievements.
- By prosecuting crimes of sexual violence and the recruitment of child soldiers, the International
Criminal Court has indicated that the world detests such crimes.
- It is more important to take certain measures to strengthen I.C.C which will encourage global
co-operation, fight against crimes and ensure international stability.
No
- The International Criminal Court's decision to dismiss the case against President of Kenya is

the latest example that the court is a prisoner of politics rather than a institution for global
justice.
- The International Criminal Courts arrest warrants against two main heads of states have not
resulted in convictions or even trials. It is a huge setback for I.C.C.
- Since 2002, the I.C.C. has spent more than $1 billion. It works on a yearly budget of more than
$ 100 million. It is a matter of concern as the trials completed doesnt justify the amount spent.
- Till this time, The International Criminal Court has targeted African nations for its nine official
investigations. The mere attention on one nation exemplifies the courts weakness.
- It has no systematic enforcement mechanism with process deficiencies such as the admission
of hearsay proof and testimony from unidentified witnesses.
- The US is not a participant in the I.C.C. and it is not all surprising why the leaders have been
wary to embrace it.
Conclusion
The mandate of International Criminal Court is to wipe out impunity for the most offensive
crimes related to the international community as a whole. It is an important but a difficult task.
The court requires cooperation from states to work effectively. The road to end impunity for
genocide and other crimes against humanity was never going to be smooth or short, and
therefore the I.C.C. needs support, not condemnation from states.

Hard work or Smart work - Which is important?

Work is important to do as it takes us to the next level of success. The most important question
you should ask at this place is what kind of work will take you to that level: is it hard work or
smart work.
For
- Smart work is really the need of the hour.
- Smart work saves lots of time and allows you to be more organized.
- Through smart work your goals can be reached faster.
- Doing smart work allows you to save time for other things which you might not get by doing
hard work like, exercise, spending time with family etc.
- Smart work brings lots of recognition from the society and allows you to grow more in the
industry you are in.
Against
- Hard work takes lots of time just to make things correct.
- It is totally time consuming and exhausting experience, as after doing lots of work you left out
with less energy to do anything else.
- Hard work doesn't allow you to fully use your brain and it pushes you for more physical work.

- In terms of determination and persistence hard work is really important but not lot can be
achieved.
- Working hard is not enough as it might not bring the best result of a problem or a situation.
I would like to conclude in the end that smart work is really important as it saves time and allows
you to reach your goals faster than that of a hard work.

LOVE JIHAD REALITY OR POLITICAL TYPE?

Introduction:
Starting from the controversy in Kerala and Karnataka in 2009, the term love jihad has been
used, overused, misused, and allegedly used again and again by the media whenever a couple
of cross religion (Hindu-Muslim only) come into spotlight. Scratching rumors into the personal
lives of people, politicians did not spare the star couples like Saif-Kareen and Aamir-Kiran. As if
that was not enough to prove the Type of the situation to stir hatred amongst the people, they
even brought in couple from history (Jodha-Akbar) to prove their allegations. The mob, tough,
better educated and informed, still falls for these hype and what follows is what we have been
hearing in news since the Meerut case.
The reality:
1. Kerala Hindu Help Line (KHHL) reported that they rescued around 390 young girls from forced
conversion to Islam. However, this body of VHP failed to produce any corroborative evidence
regarding the alleged victims. They claim that these youths were funded by an Arabian group
and the youths lured the girls with money.
2. Those converted to Islam, so called forcedly, accepted that they were in love and the
conversion was their decision to get acceptance from the boys community and family. The
reality is that Islam encourages conversion, but only when the person is willing to do so and not
trapped or forced.
3. Be it Islam or Hinduism, we Indian are still living in Stone Age when it comes to accepting
relations with the other religion. On both sides, the families would be ready to kill or disown the
boy/girl if they dare fall in love with anyone from outside their religion. If the couple elopes and
marries, acceptance by the family forever remains an issue until the girl accepts the tradition of
the boys family. Even if the girl is not so willing to convert, she has to do it in order to gain
acceptance by the boys family. Either ways, her own family would never support her if she turns
to them for help.
4. The term love jihad was called a conspiracy by the Muslims to convert Hindus but have they
ever been able to show evidences where a girl was forced to marry and then convert? Those
that are practicing such evilness have nothing to do with the general community or all the
people of that community. They should be punished if the crime is proved but lets not blame the
entire community with such misinterpreted terms that generate hatred amongst people.
Its simply a political type:

1. When the Sangh Parivar is sitting all idle and they have nothing new to make people fight in
the name of religion, they use all their evil brains to plot down such terms as love jihad to stir
anger amongst people. Those converted to Islam took the decision on their own for love or
whatever sake and if they regret it later, they can go back to whichever religion they prefer. A
simple marital issue was used by the Sanghs to stir controversies and indeed they lasted long.
2. The allegedly raped girl from Meerut whose case was used by the Sanghs and other Hindu
activists to fulfill their political regimes tuned back from the allegations that she was raped or
forced to convert. Even her statements earlier were contradictory and now she has accepted
that she feared her own relatives and family and ran away with a Muslim boy. The term lovejihad invented by the excellent evil minds of the politicians hits back on them and harder this
time.
3. Both BJP and Samajwadi Party have now blamed each when the girl backed out from her
statement. The people are not easy to fool now as they were years back when there was lack of
information. Such political games being used as election agendas will never work in present
times and that was clear in the September elections.
4. Marriage and love are both complicated terms in India. A girl gets death threats from her own
family when she falls for a boy of other religion. The same is true for boys who dare marry a girl
outside his own community. This has been prevailing in India since times immemorial and will
continue if reforms are not introduced to protect youths from these religion games. Terming it as
a religious conspiracy was indeed misusing the situation to their advantage.
Conclusion:
No religion teaches forced conversion or intolerance to other traditions. It is people who
complicate things with their ego, the size bigger than their heart or brains combined. If a boy or
girl wants to marry someone outside their religion, they should have the rights to do that it
without any complications by the families of both sides. On one side people teach their children
to respect and be friends with their fellow-mates of other religion at work or school but when it
comes to love and marriage, the same parents are ready with threats to prevent the youths from
bringing into their family a girl/boy of the other religion. Changes have to come from within if
Indians want to get rid of such political hypes. The politicians are not lions, but we are the goats.
They take advantage just because we present them with such instances.

SHOULD SALE OF UNPACKAGED CIGARETTES BE BANNED?

It is said on one side of cigarette there is fire and on the other side there is a fools mouth. The
saying is true as despite knowing the dangers of smoking, people do smoke. However, the
Indian government is trying to control the damage by banning the sale of unpackaged cigarettes.
The government believes that it will drastically bring down the percentage of smokers in India.
Do you agree on the matter? Should sale of unpackaged cigarettes be banned?
Yes
In India, the sales of unpackaged cigarettes form 70% of the total cigarette sales. The ban can

significantly lower down the consumption.

The number of people who die from tobacco-related diseases is estimated to reach 1.5 million
by 2020. Seeing the figures, the step of government seems completely justified.
There are many people who buy single cigarettes as they have some financial or personal
constraints. Ban on single smokes will do wonders.
The sale of unpackaged cigarettes will not only reduce existing smokers, but will also
discourage non-smokers or teenagers from trying cigarettes.
From cigarette companies perspective, it might seem a negative trend for short-term but can
be used by companies for increasing their sales by introducing small cigarette packs in future.
The short term loss will lead to greater benefits for the companies.
No
Ban of unpackaged cigarettes will have a major impact on cigarette sales leading to a loss of
revenues for the cigarette companies.
If the cigarette companies will witness a drop in sales, the impact will also be there on the tax
revenues of the country.
Smokers will always find alternative ways to smoke and therefore the impact of ban will be
short-lived.
Even the sellers will find some alternative means to sell the cigarettes indicating that only the
government will have to suffer in form of lower tax revenues.
Either it is there or it is not there. There is no mid-way solution to any problem. If the
government wants to prevent tobacco-related diseases, it should ban smoking completely.
The cigarette making companies will introduce new small pack sizes as a contrarian action
against the ban.
The objective of government is to reduce smokers but it can have a negative impact and the
single smokes can convert into multiple smokes in the future.
Conclusion
The government wants to ban the sale of unpackaged cigarettes to curb tobacco consumption.
However, the ban on unpackaged cigarettes will yield only temporary benefits. In longer term,
the ban is going to become meaningless in the industry. Moreover, the implementation of such a
ban is not practically feasible. So, instead of placing such kind of bans, government should find
out some other effective measures to reduce tobacco consumption.

SHOULD WORKING WOMEN GET ALIMONY AFTER DIVORCE?

American Oil Tycoon Harold Hamm paid $1 billion as alimony to his ex-wife. It is one of the
biggest settlements in the divorce cases. The high profile case again highlights the topic of
alimony in divorce cases. Most of the times, it is the woman who is the beneficiary in alimony
cases. However, at a time when women are also financial efficient and capable of bearing their
expenses, should they get alimony after divorce?
Yes
It is not necessary that the woman was working to earn her livelihood. It might be her hobby
that she was pursuing.
The salary earned may or may not be enough to fulfill her needs. So, she should get the
alimony to support herself post divorce.
There are many additional economic challenges that women need to face alone after marriage
and for which she has a right to get support from her ex-husband.
When the woman workd during her marriage she spends the money on the house and family.
So, she has a right to be looked after when she is alone.
Sometimes the women take smaller jobs to keep themselves occupied while their prime focus
remains looking after the family. This amount most of the times is not sufficient for them to meet
their expenses.
No
Women have as many opportunities and ability as men to find a job and earn their livelihood
on their own. So, why should working women get the alimony?
There are many instances where women is earning more than her husband, and dont need
any financial support from him.
It is the era of women empowerment where women claim themselves to be equal to men, and
therefore why should they get any additional privileges.
The elimination of alimony factor will force the couple to rethink about their marriage and give it
a second chance.
The concept of alimony is simple; it is needed only when there is a requirement, when women
are working why they should even file for it.
Conclusion
The court determines alimony on several factors. However, working women should receive
alimony or not remains a debatable issue. There are many other factors associated with every
single case which makes viewing everything in the same light difficult. But one thing remains
clear - if the society is still working on the conservative approach, then why should court restrain
from allowing alimony to working women, and if society is allowing equal status to men and
women, then why should even women think of taking alimony from men.

MORAL POLICING: TALIBANISM IN INDIA

On one side we are celebrating Mars quests to mark the developments in India, and on the
other hand youths are denied the freedom to express love in public. We talk of changes that
should happen with the formation of new government and then we refuse to accept the
changing outlook of youth. We call ourselves the biggest democratic republic, but we still are
judged on our clothes and anything that differs from the so-called-ethical set of rules. How
different are the approach of moral policing from the Taliban? The Taliban have a zero tolerance
policy for a woman leaving the house without a male member of the family n here the moral
policemen fines women for holding hands with a guy, not to talk about the actions they take
against couple kissing in public or for a mere goodbye hug.
Against moral policing:
1. Just because a group of extremists think that the act of showing love in public is wrong, they
do not in any way have the right to attack couples and bunch of friends hanging out at night
clubs. It is more of a dictatorship than a republic where such cruelties prevail and even the court
has nothing to do about it. Talking of Keralas attacks on couple, even the Kerala High Court
refused to interfere in the matter.
2. Freedom of youth to express what is right is being curbed in the name of moral policing. The
SC has made live-in-relationships legal and on the other hand, these good for nothing extremists
are still stuck in the stone age where they cannot accept changes. They call it harmful changes
while their own acts are destructive and lethal.
3. Moral policing youth wings of BJP, Shiv Sena, VHP, etc. claim to be against the show of
affections in public, be it holding hands or a peck on the cheeks or hugging. Who gave them the
authority to punish these couples? The violent attack simply proves the unjust nature of moral
policing and the dangerous impact it is having on the youths of our nation.
4. When the online protest began after the Kerala incident, there were threatening comments by
the extremists including sexually offensive details of how the modern society is wrong. They
condemn transition in society and name it tradition and ethics. Which traditions or religion allows
them to get violent to prove themselves right and the others wrong? The same is my opinion
about Taliban which makes me wonder: where is India leading to, democracy or tyranny?
5. India has always been adaptive and tolerant of different cultures and ideologies. There is no
space for extreme ideas being enforced by a group of people who create violence to get
limelight and then they are nowhere to be found when people protest against major issues such
as rapes and violence against women. If they are so concerned about the society and its
people, they should be incorporating their strength in something that would make the country
safer and a better place to live in.
In support of moral policing:
1. Going by the literal meaning of moral policing, only the parents or the near ones of the girl or

boy have the right to decide their moral limitation. It is they who are in charge of what is
permissible and what is not. And the youth wings that claim to be moral policemen should rather
handle broader cases where morality is being curbed. Whoever is training them with such
extreme ideas should stop exploiting these youths and rather have them utilize their strength
towards the betterment of the society such as support to victims of household violence or those
curbed of corruption.
2. The right way of moral policing would be to free it from political support and have them work
for the betterment of the nation. There has to be a set of rules to restrict them against violence.
But the sad part is the actions of these youth wings are actually political dramas plotted to gain
the empathy of the conservative part of our society.
3. Moral policing is the not the sole culprit; it is the mindset of the society where sex is still
considered a taboo. Changes have to come from within the society that condemns a boy and
girl in love but pays no attention if they hear a cry of household violence in their neighborhood. It
is still in our society that a guy who himself has a girlfriend would never accept his sister having
a boyfriend.
Conclusion:
Moral policing must be stopped if India has to impede the initiation of what we get to see in
news of Afghanistan and other Taliban dominated regions. No one, apart from the family of the
girl/boy, has the right to teach them morality and ethics unless they are engaged in something
obscene. The extreme mindset has to be changed if we talk of equality and democracy.
Moreover, there should be strict actions taken by the Police against the violence of the so called
moral policemen.

SHOULD WOMEN CHANGE THEIR SURNAME AFTER MARRIAGE?

In India most of the women change their surnames after marriages. It is the same case in many
other countries. They take the name of their husband after marriage. The big names and
celebrities are also a part of this group. While there are many women who follow the old trend,
there are some who have decided to keep their own surnames post wedding. The percentage of
such women has peaked after 1990s. Should women change their surname after marriage?
Yes
It is not easy to change the society names and pressures, and women need to follow it.
The change of surname is often an indication to known persons that the girl is married now.
If women can go and stay in the mens house considering its own then what is the problem in
accepting the husbands name?
Before marriage a women is the responsibility of his father and thats why she retain her
fathers name but things change after marriage.
Despite the laws and freedom, women choose to keep their husbands name because they like
it to be a part of the other family. It is not an obligation but own preference as it gives a sense of

belonging.
No
Greece had the laws where women dont need to change their surname after the marriage. It
was started long back in year 1980s.
Marriage is an affair where two persons mutually come together to form a bond. They why
should women compromise and not men?
It is more of maintaining personal identity. Women dont need to gift their ownership in
wedding. And this should show right from the start.
The change of surnames means new efforts to change the names in various important
documents like ration card, license, passport and others.
Changing the surname is anyway not related to the level of commitment. Many relations fail
where the women accepted the surname of her husband.
It can encourage feminist movements. It is just one of the ways to show the men that women
are par with them.
Conclusion
It is seen that in many countries women are given the freedom to choose their surnames after
marriage. Despite the liberty they choose to take the husbands name. Men also want them to
change their surname as it boosts their ego. This mentality needs a change. A change in
surname is not a proof that you are married. So why to stretch this old tradition? Its the time for
change!

SHOULD INDIA TRY TO HOST OLYMPICS?

It is one of the greatest honors for a nation to become an Olympic host country. However, just
dreaming of becoming an Olympic host nation cannot make it turn into a reality. It requires
willingness and resources to become a host of Olympics. Coming to India, it has not even tried
to bid for the Olympics in some years. The question here is - why? Is it not in a position to host
Olympics or doesnt even want to try? What is your opinion on the matter? Should India try to
host Olympics?
Yes
Becoming a host city to Olympics will make other sports popular in India. The athletes will be
keen to display their skills in own nation.
Many people argue that India doesnt have the required infrastructure but India can always
build it. We can take the example of Qatar which has started preparing for 2022 FIFA World Cup.

If India manages to become a host country for Olympics, the Asian countries will move one step
ahead to eliminate the disparity existing between them & American and European countries.
India is successfully hosting Hockey World cups and even U-17 Football World Cup. We have
hosted Asian and CWG. It is the time to take a big leap in right direction.
India can make its name on the world map and also the businesses can earn money during the
season.
Hosting or winning a big game makes you well known on World map. The other nations start
taking you more seriously and the overall business and internation position imoproves.
No
Olympics are linked with a terrible history of causing losses to the host nations, even when
everything was done in the most legitimate way.
Olympics incurred expenditure of over 10 billion USD even when London had most of the
required infrastructure to host Olympic Games. Are we in a position to spend so much money on
hosting these games?
Remember the cost of organizing the Commonwealth Games in India which was made as one
of the costliest event by Indians.
Security is of prime importance in Olympic Games and India cannot handle the crowd that will
become a part of grand event.
Scams and corruption are a part of Indian economy, and they are the greatest obstacles in
hosting Olympics in the nation.
India doesnt have the athletes who can perform well at the Olympics. Also, it can witness lack
of public support as there wont be many people to participate in the grand event.
Conclusion
There are many factors including economic status, infrastructure, scams, corruption etc that
hinders the dream of India becoming a host to Olympic Games. However, just because
problems are there, India should not give up on its dream of hosting Olympic Games. Problems
will always be there but where there is a will there is a way. India should try to improve its
infrastructure and solve the basic problems in the systems so that it can also someday become
capable of hosting Olympic Games.

ARE OLYMPICS GOOD FOR ECONOMY?

Most of the countries want to host the Olympics. Even India is one of the countries in thinking
stage when it comes to bidding for the Olympics. Here, the question is not about the hosting of
Olympics but here the question is why even any country should host Olympics. There are many

drawbacks linked to Olympics Games. There are people who oppose Olympics. Are you one of
them? Let us share our views on the topic: Are Olympics Good For Economy?
Yes
Olympics and other major events require investment in infrastructure and transport. The
expenses should not be analyzed for short-term benefits as it results in a lasting legacy for the
countrys economy.
Olympics attract thousands of people in the hosting nation that is a strong boost to tourism and
local economy. The tourists who come for Olympics will like to visit the place again and again.
Investment in infrastructure, transport and other major facilities indicates creation of more jobs
before and during the grand event.
Higher investment and more number of visitors imply more tax revenues for the nation
ultimately resulting in economic growth.
It is the Olympics because of which London invested in new rail links in East London and
worked on up gradation of train services.
Organising Olympics gets a country a prominent position on the World map which helps in
increasing the business tie ups in the country. This ultimately benefits the economy.
No
The investment required to host Olympics has increased considerably in recent years. It not
only requires investment on infrastructure but also on security. The higher costs cannot be met
by ticket sales and sponsorship alone.
It is not necessary that the investment done on infrastructure be of any use in the future. It
stands especially true when a major part of investment is done on stadiums.
Olympics create several problems for the local people. They cannot continue with normal
lifestyle or businesses due to increased security during the event.
The cost incurred in planning and organizing can be used by the countries for many other
developmental projects for growth of economy.
Olympics have a disappointing history of causing losses to the host nations, even when
everything was done in the most legitimate way.
A lot of visitors from all over the world visit the hosting nation to watch the sports. They come
with a baggage of lot of communicable diseases which is ultimately a burden on the economy.
Conclusion
The Olympic Games requires investment but it also becomes a source of income for the hosting
nation. The benefits can be divided into categories, the short term and the long term. The short
term money comes from the visitors coming to the event. Most of the money falls under the

category of tourism revenues. The long term benefits can be further divided into three
categories. It boosts infrastructure, the hosting nation gets the international focus through the
media coverage and lastly it encourages youth to make a career in sports. Just because some
problems are associated with the Olympics, we cannot stop organizing Olympics.

WHO MAKES A COUNTRY: GOVERNMENT OR PEOPLE?

PM Narendra Modi addressed 1.25 billion people of India at the Allphones Arena in Olympic
Park in Sydney. He received massive reception in Australia where he said that it just takes one
night to reach Australia. However, it took 28 years for an Indian PM to come to Australia. While
addressing to the public he said that it is not the government that makes a country. It is the
people who make a country. Do you agree with PM Modi? Who makes a country: Government
or People?
Government
Good governance makes for the success or the failure of any countrys economy. The
government is the disciplinary base of the country.
Why it is said that if government is corrupt, people suffer, because ultimately it is the
government who works for the people.
The most important aspect of any country is financial performance, and it is not controlled by
people, but by government.
Raghuram Rajan, who became governor of RBI in September 2013, successfully brought
inflation to lower levels.
The country has suffered a lot in form of many scams under UPA rule. So, it is the government
who exploits or creates the fate of any country.
People
A nation is at brink of fall if the people are not getting their basic necessities fulfilled leading to a
dismal economic scenario.
It is the peoples money coming in the form of taxes that is used by the government for overall
development process.
A government is formed by people and therefore it is ultimately the people who work for
welfare of country.
Going back in the past, when India was not free, it was Mahatma Gandhi who created a history
and paved way for a modern India.
Going by the general definition of democracy, it is by the people, for the people and of the
people. Without people, there is no democracy and without it there is no government.

Conclusion
It wont be wrong to say that government and people are closely linked to each other. It is the
people who make a government and it is the government who runs the country. Both are the
important pillars of a country. It is important for the people to be aware before selecting a
government and it is the duty of the government to work in an honest way to provide better
services and facilities to the people. So, it is the government as well as the people who together
make a country.
FDI IN RETAIL - WILL REALLY AFFECT THE FARMERS OF INDIA

For
- Farmers might have to shut down their farms due to corporatization of the farming sector.
- It has divided Indias social, political and trading classes. It works on the divide and rule
concept.
- It would mean depreciation of Indian money which will have a negative impact on the
economy.
- The retailers will have an enormous control over their suppliers and indirectly affecting the
farmers.
- This kind of structure would result in reduced farm prices and thus, closure of farms.
- It will have disastrous consequences on the Indian farmers as buyers will have total control
over the sellers according to this policy.
- FDI will let some major players emerge in the retail segment. Big retail outlets will enjoy
monopoly in selling and in buying as well. This means that the poor farmers will not have much
optiona to sell their crop in the market causing them to lower their selling price and shrink the
margins.
Against
- It will be profitable to the farmers as middlemen will give them a better price for their goods.
- Farmers will get an opportunity to supply their produce to the big chains directly rather than
going through intermediate brokers.
- The induction of the foreign investors will definitely help the small traders i.e. the farmers.
- It will deepen the economic cooperation between India and US.
- Agricultural products will form a very small percentage of the products these retail outlets
would sell. The majority of products will be the finished goods. Snce these retail chains will
source these products from China and other countries, more than farmers this will affect our

local industries

SHOULD CHINA BE GIVEN FULL MEMBERSHIP AT SAARC?

Introduction:
China is all keen and resolute about upgrading its observer status at the SAARC, seeking
supports from member nations as Pakistan expectedly offers to second the decision. India
rejected the demand saying that the member nations of SAARC first need to deepen their
cooperation amongst themselves and later think of extending the membership to observer
nations. Obviously there are pros and cons of China getting full membership and to add to it,
there is the special bond China is known to share with Pakistan, training its armies and providing
hidden support to them against India.
No, China should not be given full membership:
1. Supporting Pakistan: The India Pakistan conflict has always been out of control of any
association or peace meet. Even when the two nation pledges peace and friendship at these
meets, nothing seems to be bridging the gap when it comes to fight. Adding China to the
association would only worsen the situation as we know China is an all weather friend of
Pakistan.
2. Shift of power: As Pakistan and other member nations believe that though SAARC may not
be India-centric or India-driven but is, India-dominated and they are keen on changing this
status. They simply invite this decision of giving full membership to China as a countervailing
force against India. They obviously have reasons to believe that this change of power would do
them good but the opposite might also happen as China doesnt have to prove its worth to
anyone. Its domination can bring the opposite to even the nations supporting the decision.
3. Authoritarian: China is not a democracy, it is an authoritarian. Adding China to SAARC might
mean domination of China over the weaker economies which might just become raw material
suppliers to these powers.
4. Creating mess: SAARC has been underperforming since a long time and adding a powerful
nation to the association would create more unjust decisions and overall a mess at decision
making. You cannot expect a very powerful nation with great economy to lay down its term in
accordance with weaker economies which will suffer eventually.
5. Regional imbalance: SAARC is East Asian and not a South Asian nation and therefore there
is no reason why this observer nation should be given a full membership and not the other
observer nations like United States and Japan. These nations too might express their interest in
getting the full membership if China would be bestowed with that.
Yes, China should be given full membership:
1. Help might flow in: Chinas powerful economic growth and superior powers can be of help
towards the development of the SAARC nations which are not able to implement the plans due
to shortage of economic support. Trade and commerce with China might also flow in, benefitting

the weaker nations in evolving to be a better economy. Perhaps this is the reasons why apart
from Pakistan the other nations excluding India also supported the decision to welcome China in
SAARC.
2. Democracy does not matter: Bangladesh's dictator, President Gen Zia-ur-Rehman was the
one who founded SAARC. When SAARC was initiated there were other nations as well that was
not democratic in nature: two dictatorships Bangladesh and Pakistan, two monarchies Bhutan
and Nepal, authoritarian Maldives as well. This clears the discussion of democracy.
3. Good for India as well: The other nations are strongly supporting the decision to include China
which would lead to isolation of India and the fact that China will continue to provide aid to the
neighbors even if it does not get membership is also unquestionable for the all weather
friendship they hold. It would be safer for India to grant membership to China along with
negotiating for the other nations like Japan to get the full membership as well.
Conclusion:
This decision seems to be long avoided or terminated. India must decide now. Either it should
confidently declare that it is not going to grant the membership of a non-South-Asian nation or it
should negotiate its own conditions and grant the membership. The decision has to be wisely
taken after careful considerations of all the sides but it has become unavoidable for sure. In
recent times, there has been news of rising conflicts between China and India which is not at all
good news for India. This might just be the chance for India to strengthen the bonds with China
and avoid conflicts in times to come.

ARE MOVIES RESPONSIBLE FOR PEOPLES FEAR OF POLICE?

Introduction:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing India Conference of DGPs and IGPs, said in his
speech that movies are responsible for showing cops in negative roles and hence people fear
going to the police to file a complaint. His concept of SMART police is reformative and helpful
to a great extent but only if that could be implemented, not just said and forgotten. However, he
seems to have forgotten to mention or deliberately chucked out the political effects on police and
their actions. Is it media and movies that are responsible for peoples fear of going to the cops to
file a complaint? Or is it otherwise?
No, movies are not responsible:
1. People fearing police is not the gift of movies but real life instances where the woes of
common people were either unheard or ignored by the police. Maybe not all police officers are
unjust to the common men, but majority of them are on the top of the list. Police makes them
wait long before their grievances are even heard by the cops and them the process of
investigation is curt and rude making the one to complain seem like the culprit.
2. Movies are usually bold mirrors of the society. They are not afraid to show things as it is. Ask
any common man and they would all unanimously advise you to stay from the police as far as

possible. Not everyone is under the delusion of movies. Cases and complaints rot in the files of
police station before they are even considered. Culprits around the country roam free after
serious offenses such as murders and rapes, and those charged of pick-pocketing and even
some false charges are trapped for years in jail.
3. It is surprising enough that the PM did not mention the control of politician over the policemen
in India. Cops here are reduced to mere servants of these politicians and every action taken by
the police is directly proportional in the favor of the ruling politician of the region. It is not movies
that show cops in bad light but the corrupt politicians that cast this light over the cops. The
foremost problem is that the cops are underpaid and hence the politicians find it easy to buy the
loyalty of the cops with a few bags full of currencies.
4. Making the police SMART is not enough to bring a change in the security system of the
country. The police needs to be freed from politics. Transfer, promotion, postings of the police
should no way be influenced by the ruling ministers of the region. Allowances and posts should
be standardized. Code of conduct and duty rules need reforms and the conditions of police
station that look like rotten structures should be renovated. Fearless and contented police is
necessary along with making them SMART.
5. It is a wrong allegation that movies always show the cops in bad light. What about the heroic
cops that ruled the Indian cinemas like Singham and Dabang cops? We do not overlook the
efforts that police makes to ensure the safety of the citizens but they are clearly overworked,
undergo a lot of political pressure, and are underpaid.
Yes, movies are responsible:
1. Corrupt and bribe taking cops is one of the universal concepts shown in majority of the Indian
cinemas. This has indeed created an image of the cops in our minds. Talk of cops and we think
of a pot-bellied man with deadly mustache in his 50s chewing pan and holding that thick stick
meant to hit only the poor and the underprivileged.
2. Movies show how the policemen treat a poor common man who goes to the police station to
lodge a complaint of his missing daughter. They would first put the allegation on the girl for
having affair perhaps and then blame the poor man for giving freedom to the girl. This has gone
a long way in making up the minds of the common man to fear the cops and stay away from
them.
3. Our system needs reforms but it is also the duty of people, media and film makers to show
positive things to the people to encourage them to report their complaints and instead of
patiently taking the torments, put their grievances in front of the cops and demand justice as it is
the right of every India citizen.
4. If movies show the actions of the bad cops, it should also show what common people facing
such situations must do in order to get justice. There are higher authorities that could be
contacted for complaining against the bad cops and corrupt measures taken by them.
Conclusion:
The fear of the cops has to go away if we want to liberate our society. Movies play a part in
shaping the images of people in our minds but along with that they reflect the society. Reforms

are necessary to ensure that the concept of SMART police is not just a theoretical said and
forgotten speech. How uninterested the cops were in the concept of the PMs Speech is clear
from evidences that the director of the federal investigative agency, Ranjit Sinha, and the CBI
Director was seen snoozing during the speech.

Conclusion
The Olympic Games requires investment but it also becomes a source of income for the hosting

problems are associated with the Olympics, we cannot stop organizing Olympics.

LOSING VIRGINITY BEFORE MARRIAGE IS A BIG DEAL

In the ever-changing world, the one thing that people still cant accept openly is losing the
virginity before marriage. It is a sensitive topic especially in the regions where people are more
attached with their culture and values. It is true for the countries like India where even love
marriages or live in relationships are not accepted easily. Even the teenagers especially girls
consider it to be big and cathartic event of life. The matter gets really serious and intense at
times. Are you one of those people? Do you really thing losing virginity before marriage is a big
deal?
Yes
In this world, every that thing that cannot be regained after its lost is considered as invaluable
and precious.
Virginity is not about sharing a physical relationship with other but it is more about sharing trust
and belongingness with other.
The first time early mistakes done in the teenage can prove costly for lifetime. Sometimes
damages are irreversible.
In the country like India where women are considered as God, virginity becomes a certificate
of character for them.
When it comes to girls, it doesnt get over in a short time but leads to deeper emotional

consequences afterwards.
No
People have a habit to make haste out of waste, and when something has to happen at
sometime, then why to make a fuss out of it.
Getting intimate with any person is a matter of choice and cannot be confined to the defined
limits.
Character cannot be judged on the basis of virginity. If that had been the case, most of the
guys should be proved characterless.
Whenever virginity is talked about it is confined to women, if men are not bounded with the
terms, why should women be?
Virginity has nothing to do with the long term relationships or commitment. If it had been the
case, most of the arranged marriages must have been successful.
Conclusion
Since ages, people are following the concept that virginity is the gift from the two partners after
their marriage. However, in the present world, the concept is changing. It is more of a personal
preference and choice what the partners want. The only thing is that the decision should be
made with due consideration. In any case, it should not hinder the happiness and peace of your
life.
ARE THE E COMMERCE COMPANIES HURTING THE OFFLINE STORES BUSINESS?
Flipkart through its Big Billion Day Sale has not only drawn customers attraction and set new
milestone in online shopping. In protest many offline traders association has criticized such sales
and requested commerce ministry to regulate the E commerce companies. But, we need to see
that this threat is real or it is just propaganda against E commerce companies.
Yes:
-A supplier has to balance the demands between online and offline trade. If such online sales
become a common phenomenon then the equilibrium of supply to different retail chains get
distorted.
-The limits of discounts offered by online companies cannot be matched by offline traders. So, it
is against the healthy competition spirit of the market.
-Also, cases of defective product delivery by E commerce companies have been on rise. This
practice not only shatters customer confidence but also impacts brand value of that products
company.
-Offline traders have to pay sales tax, VAT etc. but there is no uniform tax policy for these
companies. This results in revenue loss to government as well.

No:
-Most E Commerce companies are online market places where any offline retailer can sell their
products to a larger customer base. This will increase sales of offline retailers.
-Customers find online shopping more comfortable, plus they have more options to choose from.
So, naturally they will go for E commerce companies for shopping.
-India is moving rapidly towards digitalization. This has created vast opportunity for the E
commerce companies. In fact offline retail stores should take it as an opportunity to expand their
customer base.
-Even offline stores use discounts option to increase their sales figure. Though the demand for
regulating discounts limit is legitimate but it should be applicable for both offline and online
companies.
Conclusion:
E commerce is rapidly expanding in Indian market. Government can regulate it, but it cannot put
restrictions on it as demanded by many offline traders. Also, the future belongs to E commerce
as internet penetration is increasing in India. Offline stores have to come to online platform in
long run to save themselves from extinction. The most important aspect in this scenario is that
customers have an upper hand in choosing their shopping option and they have emerged as the
true winner.
HAS COMMON MAN BEEN FOOLED BY THE NDA GOVERNMENT ON BLACK MONEY?

After the completion of 100 days of the NDA government, BJP is facing all round attacks on the
works promised but not completed during this period. One of the most important topics catching
attention of common masses, opposition and media is matter of black money. BJP promised to
bring the black money stashed abroad in 100 days. It has even said that it will distribute a part of
it to the common people. Well, benefitting the common men is distant dream when the
government has failed to keep its promise. So, what do you think? Has NDA fooled the common
man on black money? Has the party been hypocritical on black money?
Yes
It is the common trend of the political parties to promise big things before election or listing
them in manifesto, and later forgetting to complete them. BJP is no exception.
From the time SIT was set up, only debates are going on the black money issue with no solid
results in hand.
At a time, when the government should focus more on bringing back the black money, it is
busy in providing Z security to Baba Ramdev who campaigned for the party during elections.
The ruling party has taken the excuse of DTAA and cited tax pact with Germany so as to avoid
naming black money holders.

BJP promised that it will deposit 15 lakh in every citizens account and garnered their votes
before election. It was just a part of their election campaign.
No
The BJP government has started well, and doing well on various fronts. It might have missed
the deadline on black money issue but is moving slowly and steadily on right track.
The ruling party successfully set the SIT to probe the black money in the foreign banks. The first
step is taken, results will follow.
Why there is urgency in pushing BJP government when Congress did nothing in its last two
terms. Give BJP some time and then follow up constructively.
Government named three black money holders in an affidavit to Supreme Court and has even
requested to make changes in confidentiality clause.
FM Arun Jaitley said that populism is no solution to the issue. He is right on his stance as the
holders of black money accounts are high-profile people who
will take defensive stance if the names are revealed.
Conclusion
The opposition is demanding an apology from PM Narendra Modi for his failure to fulfil his
promise of bringing back the black money from abroad in 100 days and then distributing a part
of it to each citizen. Well, there is no denial that PM Modi failed to keep his promise but it is the
common man who should demand the apology from government. Moreover, when FM has
apologized, it indicates the government knows they have failed on their part. Here, the main
issue is not getting apology from PM, but the main issue is to know what the government
intends to do to bring the black money back from abroad in future.

SHOULD TAJ MAHAL BE HANDED OVER TO THE STATE WAQF BOARD?

Taj Mahal, a historical monument of love, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his queen
Mumtaz, has become a topic and reason of turf war. What has always remained as a
masterpiece of world heritage has now become a reason of sectarian claims over its legal
ownership. Azam Khan, UP Muslim Waqf leader has demanded Taj Mahal to be declared as a
property of the UP Waqf Board. Do you agree with Waqf minster? Should Taj Mahal be handed
over to the state Waqf Board?
Yes
Waqf Board takes care of the Muslim sites of burial and graves, and has every right to demand
ownership of Taj Mahal.
Taj Mahal is a mausoleum and mausoleum is a waqf, and as therefore as per the simple rule it
is waqf property.

Declaration of a Waqf property does not imply that the Waqf board becomes taker of its
revenue. They will only get a part of earnings coming from the mausoleum, and therefore it is ok
to hand it over to Waqf board.
No
If Taj Mahal control is given to Waqf board, it will indicate that it belongs to a particular group
whereas Taj Mahal belongs to Indians as well as whole world.
It is nothing but communalism of Taj Mahal and a game of dirty politics ahead of the 2017 UP
Assembly election.
Instead of giving control of Taj Mahal to Waqf board, the properties coming under the Waqf
board should be transferred to the Archaeological Survey of India. The board has become a
house of corruption.
Azam Khan is the same person who said in February 2013 that Taj Mahal should be
demolished, and now he wants to become caretaker of Taj Mahal.
Historical monuments elsewhere in the world like Saint Basil's Cathedral in Russia, Parthenon
in Greece, Hagia Sophia Museum and others are owned, controlled and run by government, and
not the religious parties. If today, Taj Mahal is given to waqf board, tomorrow other religious
group will come to exercise their claim on other national properties which can not be allowed to
happen.
Conclusion
November 22 is termed as development day, and the political parties and leaders just want to
highlight the day by bringing in the unnecessary controversial issues. Azam Khan has always
remained in limelight because of his controversial statements. It is shocking that after 300 years
all of a sudden the Waqf Board realizes that Taj Mahal is their property. Well, they should take a
reality check as Taj Mahal is a monument symbolizing love, constructed by Hindu and Muslims
together and belongs to Indians.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES SHOULD BE MADE COMPULSORY IN SCHOOL

School is considered as a learning platform where students gain a perspective towards their life.
The school is responsible to make the students fit in every area. It also includes extra-curricular
activities so that students dont get restricted to formal studies. But then there is a group who
dont want their kids to waste time on extra curricular activities. It considers a waste of time
reaping no benefits in future. Do you think extra curriculum activities should be made
compulsory in school?
Yes
Students need some other ways to relax and have some good time to rejuvenate the spirits.
Students need play as well as studies to have right balance in life.

Extra curriculum activities provide the students with an opportunity to learn and practice things
on a practical level.
Extra curricular activities not only provide a break from routine studies but also help the
students to improve their health.
There are many students who dont want to choose the specific subjects to make a career. They
find their future careers in the form of extra curriculum activities.
Extra curriculum activities are a way to bind with different people and often enhance the team
spirit in the children.
No
There is no lucrative career made by opting for the extra curriculum activities. It is just a form of
entertainment.
It is not possible for every school to give equal importance to the extra curriculum activities. It
requires resources.
Students tend to lose their focus on studies due to the extra curriculum activities. It is not
welcomed by parents.
If extra curriculum activities are forced on the school then it will only result in boredom and
exhaustion. Children want the extra curriculum activities for fun, and cannot enjoy it under
compulsion.
Conclusion
Making extra curriculum activities compulsory cannot reap any significant benefits. Students
need the space to choose their career and it comes when their family allows it. Even if the extra
curriculum activities are kept optional, they can make a difference in students lives. Making it
compulsory will only kill the fun of activities.

ANDROID VERSUS IOS

Are you looking to buy a Smartphone? You will then have a tough time to decide whether to buy
an iOS-powered or Android running Smartphone. Both the companies are launching new
upgrades of their operating system. Apple has already launched the latest version iOS with
improved features in September. Google is gearing up to launch its latest upgrade Android L
soon. So, in the fierce battle of Android and iOS what you prefer? Which one is better: Android
or iOS?
Android
Android is the most vastly used Smartphone platform in the world. It is used by several phone

manufacturers whereas iOS runs only on Apple devices.

Android always offers better battery life versus iOS versions, especially when users play with
its apps for longer time.
Google is very much connected to the web, and therefore it becomes easy for the users to
choose browser tabs, document file and other content. The synchronization feature of Android
beats iOS.
Android provides a single icon to clear all active items on all devices whereas it is not the same
case with iOS notifications.
iOS
When it comes to security, iOS offers much enhanced security features compared to Android.
Googles operating system is believed to be more vulnerable to mobile malware infiltration.
The latest upgrade of iOS has got the feature of interactive notifications that allows users to
see the new updates without any external app. Android tried to implement the same feature but
failed to match iOS level.
The buttons on iOS new version appear to be expanded all the time. However, it has got
quick-reply capability. iOS native functionality beats Android here.
The design has remained the power point of iOS operating platform, and the new version has
got a clean look with glass effect staying prevalent.
Conclusion
It is clear that both Android and iOS are trying hard to fetch a larger pie of market share by
improving their older versions. The battle continues and can get fierce in the near future. Both
the operating platforms have got own set of pros and cons. However, the utility largely depends
on the user and its personal perception. Still, Android occupies first slot in the United States with
a 51.5% market share whereas iOS trails Android with 42.4% market share.

KISS OF LOVE - DO YOU SUPPORT THE MOVEMENT?

Kiss of Love campaign is a non-violent movement started to show the wrath against moral
policing. The movement started in Kerala and gradually was followed by people in other states
of the country. The debate on the eastern values and western culture, tradition and modernity,
limits and liberty has risen to new peaks in the past few years. Self-proclaimed defenders of
tradition and culture are trying to define a womans place in the Indian society. As per them,
they are the custodians of culture and need to guide the women who have lost their way.
However, the youth of today doesnt agree with them, and therefore, started with Kiss of Love
campaign. So, do you support the movement?
Yes
The custodians of culture need an open challenge and the campaign is the warning that the
real objective of them should be safety of women, not the attacks on the women.
The campaign started on Facebook and now has become a mass protest. The awareness is
there, and that is what a protest stands for.
The problem with the custodians of culture is not preservation of Indian culture but to stop
inter-religious and self-made relationships. The campaign will let them know youth are not
bounded by any boundaries.
The parties just use any means to fulfill their communal agenda, and youth have every right to
reply them in the same way.
Media is power, and the kiss of love campaign is covering and it providing it with the much
needed hype. It will help the youth to stand together for their rights.
No
The youth of today has got the freedom to protest against the wrong, but they cannot follow a
wrong path to justify themselves.
The kiss of love campaign is completely against the moral values of the Indian society and will
leave a negative impact on the society.
Even if the youth have just held hands and protested, the objective of protest would have been
achieved. Kissing in public is the extreme form of protest that brings shame to the Indian
society.
The campaign is not spreading the message of innocuous love but is spreading the message
of getting physical in public.
The campaign in no way is showing the support for inter-caste relationships. It is just flaunting
the western culture.
Following the western culture, youth of today needs freedom to be in a relationship, but what

about getting independent after the age of 18 years, which is mandatory in the western
countries.
Conclusion
The so-called custodians of Indian culture have always done wrong to the youngsters. They
have adopted wrong paths to support moral policing. However, the kiss of love campaign is no
different from their protest. It is a low form of protest that is only supporting flaunting of love in
open places. The need is to evolve Indian culture with pride, rather than copying the distorted
ideas. The youths should have adopted a better way to show their protest. In the process, the
dignity of love and respect of their parents and Indian culture is lost.

SHOULD FOREIGN ARTISTS BE BANNED FROM WORKING IN BOLLYWOOD?

Many international stars have always been attracted to India. The audience still remember
actress Patten with love who appeared in the blockbuster movie "Rang De Basanti". However,
there are some people who are against the participation of foreign artists in Bollywood. Even the
members of CINTAA do not want to entertain the participation of foreign artists in Indian movies.
Do you agree with the members of CINTAA? Should foreign artists be banned from working in
Bollywood?
Yes
The major problem lies with the Pakistani artists. The border tensions also have an impact on
the professional relationships.
India itself has a huge pool of talent in all fields, and therefore it doesnt require artists from
foreign countries in Bollywood.
PM Modi is campaigning for Make in India. When he wants to focus on manufacturing in
India, why should we open all gates for foreign people in other industries?
The participation of foreign artists can pose a threat to the popularity and jobs of the Indian
artists.
The participation of junior foreign artists who work as dancers snatches away the job of many
junior local artistes.
The union had rule against women makeup artists working in bollywood. They even wanted
someone to stay in Mumbai for 5 years before they could get into bollywood as makeup artists
or in hair do but we openly give opportunities to foreign artists to perform in our movies. Isn't
that hypocrisy?
No

It is narrow nationalism and an undesirable jingoistic attitude of Bollywood that is not justified
in any case.
The talent wherever it comes from should be welcome and encouraged. It should not be
prohibited due to nationality of artists.
The private group CINTAA has no right to decide on whether Bollywood should be open for
foreign artists or not.
There are many developments on technological front that could only be brought in India with
the help of foreign artists.
When Indian artists are not stopped from working in Hollywood, why the unnecessary issue is
created in Bollywood?
The foreign-looking faces fascinate a large group of Indian audiences, and become one of the
reasons behind impressive box-office performance.
Conclusion
It is an entertainment industry and such a narrow nationalism behavior in the Bollywood should
not be welcomed. In a globalized market, it is not possible to grow in the confined four walls.
The participation of foreign talent will only add to the competiveness in the industry. Any
prohibitions on foreign artists can discourage international production firms to shoot in India.
Moreover, the participation of foreign artists with Indian artists will work an example of peace
and collaboration for the rival nations.
Sex education should be made compulsory in schools.

At the start of this year, District of Columbia went ahead and implemented compulsory rules for
sex education and HIV education in the public schools. It mandated the authorities to get the
help in preparing the curriculum from medical professionals. It is seen as a debatable issue
especially in the countries like India where focus is paid more on the traditional culture and
values. However, with the changing time it seems many citizens of developing countries wants
sex education to be made compulsory in schools. What is your point of view on the matter?
Should sex education be made compulsory in schools?
Yes
It will generate more sex awareness among teenagers, and they would be in a better position
to understand the pros and cons of sex at young age.
Sex education in school will provide children with the knowledge of understanding the
intentions of ill-mined people and how to stay away from them.
Parents dont feel comfortable in talking about sex with their children and therefore, it becomes
responsibility of school to provide the necessary education in right direction.
There are many countries where teen pregnancy rate is high. The proper education will keep a

hold on teens pregnancy rate.

Sexual reproduction is just a part of science, and should be taught accordingly. The teachers
should drop a conservative approach so that teens can know more about the sexual diseases
and the adverse effects of sex in early age.
Lack of sex knowledge from a reliable sources makes the children seek it from outside world
which might not be vary safe. In lack of such knowledge they may become victims of improper
sex life, broken relationships and depression. Proper sex education at school can protect them
from all these.
Lack of proper sex knowledge has led to girls popping iPill like a regular contraceptive pill
without knowing its health hazards.
With technological advancements, children have a very easy access to pornography. If not
taught properly, they might end up in wrong friend circle spoiling their life.
No
The sex education can have a negative impact on the thought process of teenagers and they
can be diverted from their main studies.
Human whether, adults or teenagers, have the tendency to try the things that are not
considered safe. Sex education will promote the teenagers to move in wrong direction.
There is a time for everything, and sex knowledge should be given at the right time and for the
right reasons.
Schools cant be made responsible for providing sex information, as it is the responsibility of
parents to tell their children about it.
Sex knowledge in an open class that has teenagers from both the gender can infuse a mutual
attraction between the two opposite genders.
More than sex knowledge it is the moral values that need to be developed in the child and this
can be done at home.
Conclusion
When with the changing world, everyone is adopting to the new techniques and fashion trends,
why should sex education be denied in schools. People make a hype over sex education when
in fact children seek all these information from various other sources. Instead of encouraging
the children to opt for the information from the other sources that can misguide them, it is better
to implement sex education in schools.

DOWRY IS EVIL BUT SO IS THE MISUSE OF DOWRY HARASSMENT LAW

Introduction:
Ever since ancient times of the Vedas, dowry has been a tormenting part of Indian marriages.
Sad but true the evil of killing the girl child, which is one of the worst crime against women,
came up from the practice of dowry system. In ancient days, when the evil cause was more
seriously followed by people of all castes, the poor ones thought of killing the girl child when
they were born to get rid of paying heavy amounts as dowry. Enlightenment came, reforms were
made, yet these evil practices continue to ruin lives of women everywhere. In 1961, Dowry
Prohibition Act was passed, but still more than 10,000 dowry cases are registered every year.
Some of these are genuine complaints of tortured women but then there are some cases which
mark the misuse of this law. The home ministry has recently asked all state governments to be
judicious in invoking the stringent anti-dowry section of IPC in matrimonial disputes as the
provision may be used as weapons rather than shields by disgruntled wives.
Dowry prohibition law should be strict:
1. Bride burning and torturing of women for dowry is still an integral part of Indian marriages,
especially amongst the poor and illiterate families, who are unfortunately the major part of Indian
population. Only strict laws and punishments can ensure that the violator of the law pays the
price for harassing women. Any sort of relaxation to the law would lessen the fear amid already
fearless people who commit such inhuman acts.
2. Female infanticide, sex detection and abortion are all crimes that initiated from the evil
practice of dowry system. If equal rights and freedom is to be given to women in India, the root
cause of the evil has to be removed first. It is only then that we could stop other crimes against
women.
3. The narrow mindedness of the society that feels the birth of a girl child is a burden on their
parents has to be removed. Instead of feeling blessed, the parents begin planning on how they
will get her married when time comes and what all they will have to save for her marriage. A
girls right to education gets left behind these thoughts. For a developing country, the contribution
of well educated women is of great importance. A complete ban on dowry system is the sole
solution to achieve this.
4. Gender inequality prevails in India and dowry system is one of the reasons why it is still
popular even when women are coming ahead in all fields of science, economics, politics, and
even in army and air forces. To treat a son and daughter equal, it is important for the parents to
realize that they dont have to spend all the savings of their life to get her married one day.
5. Marriage is about promise of being together in good and bad times. The dowry system makes
it a trade where one party pays the other party for not harassing their daughter. If they fail to
fulfill their greedy demands, the daughter is burnt to death. Only strict laws can stop this kind of
evil practices.
Dowry prohibition law should be amended:
1. False complaints have been detected in many cases and some of them have spoilt lives of
men and their family. In order to trouble the in-laws or revenge the husband for a dispute,
insane women file false complaints of dowry harassment which in turn proves life spoiler to the

husband. Some of them lost reputation, years in jail, loss of job and businesses, and some even
committed suicide after being penalized for a deed they never committed. It is extremely
necessary that these laws should be amended to help preventing such cases.
2. There has been great rise in dowry complaints in recent times. The National Crime Records
Bureau statistics has it that nearly 200,000 people, including 47,951 women, were arrested for
dowry offences in 2012, but only 15% of them were convicted. This shows that the law is being
misused and needs amendment.
3. The women who are abused for dowry are usually of the poverty struck areas and they hardly
make use of this law. There are thousands of dowry harassment cases that are not even
reported. It is not laws that solve all the matter. Educating men and women is necessary. They
need to know that both have equal rights and evil practices such as dowry is punishable
offence.
4. Non bail laws of dowry harassment leads to arrest of innocent men too and that also without
an investigation. This kind of law leaves easy loops for being misused.
Conclusion:
Dowry system is an evil practice, no doubt, but the law must be further amended to ensure
justice to both men and women. Home ministry correctly instructed their police officers not to
automatically arrest a person when a case under Section 498A of IPC is registered but they
must satisfy themselves about the necessity for arrest under the parameters laid down flowing
from Section 41, CrPC

BULLET TRAINS IN INDIA: PROS AND CONS

While the country seemed excited when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a diamond
quadrilateral of bullet trains to connect the four major cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and
Chennai in his venture called Smart cities project, critics have a lot to say. There are reasons
to be happy about this project and there are reasons that drive us to ponder if this is the first
priority of a nation with majority of its population below poverty line. Let us look at it from all
point of views and generate our own opinion on this.
Pros of Bullet trains:
1. Speed: High speed is one of the biggest reasons for the proposal of this idea when it was first
initiated in India. Major cities connecting with towns of economic growth face the problem of fast
transportation. This would save time and boost businesses amongst the connected cities.
Reduction in commuting time is greatly required in Mumbai and other metro cities where a lot of
time is consumed in the process.
2. Comfort: These trains would utilize high grade technology to provide comfortable journey of
long hours within just a few hours. Improvising on the comfort level of train journeys have been a
missing factor in Indian railways and the introduction of bullet trains would be a great
development in this factor.

3. Safety: Earlier there were questions raised on the safety issues of these high speed trains but
the Shinkansen network of Japan shows excellent records of safety. Ever since the bullet trains
started in 1964, the Shinkansen has reported zero fatalities.
4. Avoid overcrowding: Making commuting easier from small town to major cities would lessen
the crowd of settlement and migration in major cities which would reduce pressure on growing
urban areas. Chief Minister has rightly mentioned decongestion of Bangalore as one of the
reasons for the bullet train.
5. Stronger and eco-friendly: Not only these High speed trains are stronger enough to carry
heavier weight but are also eco-friendly as they do not require deforestations to set tracks. It is a
modern and technologically advanced means of transportation which can be a step towards
growth and development in India.

Cons of bullet trains:

1. Cost of construction: The cost of laying a bullet-train corridor is estimated to cost up to Rs
100 crore a kilometre. After summing up the costs of signals, rolling stock, etc, the cost can rise
up to Rs 115 crore a km. Operation and maintenance costs would also be high.
2.High fares: Fares of these trains would be high too in order to compensate the expenses and
maintenance. One way fare on Mumbai-Ahmadabad route is projected to be around Rs 5,000.
Quite few Indians would be able to afford travelling with these expenses. And even those who
would be willing to pay such a high price might prefer travelling planes instead. If this factor is
not considered, then the project might prove to be a loss for the government.
3.Time consuming project: The project is at its initial level of planning and it is predicted that the
implementation of the plan would take years. In between if there is a change in government, and
then the project could face the consequences.
4. Land acquisition: For laying tracks, there would be issues of land acquisition which might
trigger anger amongst commoners whose everyday living might come under menace. For
instance laying these tracks in Mumbai would require acquisition of land which has the largest
slums in the city.
5. Other issues: This project might have other issues under Indias present condition including
plaguing of power sector, choice of speed and gauge, minimum length of the route for the
viability of the project, etc. It is important to understand whether or not India is ready for this
change.
Conclusion:
Bullet train has sets of pros and cons under Indias present situations and they need to be
properly handled so that it brings prosperity and development in the country and not debacles.
Every factor must be considered wisely and safeguarding of peoples living should not be
compromised. There are risks in this project but without risks nothing big can be acquired.

PROSTITUTION SHOULD BE LEGALIZED

There was a time when legalizing of Marijuana was thought next to impossible. But now with
change in time, it is made legal in the two states Colorado and Washington. Even the medical
form of Marijuana is expected to gain attention in many other states. Thinking of this scenario
many people are of view that a day will come when prostitution will be accepted legally in the
society. There is no harm in making prostitution legal. Do you agree? Should prostitution be
made legal?
Yes
Prostitution is the oldest profession of the world. It has been there from ancient civilization.
Either stop it or legalize it. The mid way should be eliminated.
The legal bans are there but still it has brought no change in the prostitution business. So in any
case legal bans are serving no purpose.
In Zurich, Switzerland prostitution is legal in designated areas called as sex-boxes. Such areas
save the women from the danger they face while staying in the prostitution field.
Legalizing the prostitution can help the women to live a better life. They can have a control of
their life and can protect themselves from the many problems they face in normal course.
It will help the government to keep a check on the age of prostitutes. Many small girls are
forcefully pushed in this field.
Legalizing the prostitution can help the government to get an extra source of earning taxes.
No
Making it legal will open the doors for many women to enter in prostitution field. They can take
it as an easy way to earn money.
In a male dominant society, the unemployed husbands will take the wrong benefit of the law
and can force their wives to enter in this profession.
The teenagers girls who are immature can easily go on the wrong track and can choose
prostitution as their career.
Prostitution cannot be legalized as it encourages unsafe sex, makes women feel like trash and
is immoral. You cannot allow the girls to be used as merchandise.
Just because any act cannot be stopped, you cannot make it legal. Stealing is illegal and it
cannot be stopped, so will you make other crimes legal.
Conclusion
Legalizing prostitution is not going to end the problems of women. In any case they have to
suffer the physical and mental trauma. Making prostitution legal will only send wrong message
to the society. If will lead to an increase in the number of prostitutes. Just because it cannot be

stopped, you cannot make it legal. It is important to stick with what is right. And to stop the
wrong keep fighting!

EGG FREEZING, THE NEW TREND - SHOULD WOMEN FOLLOW IT?

Introduction:
Egg freezing, a controversial decision, comes with a huge price and often became the reason
why women opted out of it. However, the recent news that Apple and Facebook will not pay for
the egg freezing of their female employees have made women rethink on the pros and cons of
the procedure. Delaying pregnancy can be due to a number of reasons, especially for working
ambitious women, it is a bliss that they can store and benefit from it when they are ready.
Yes, women should freeze their eggs
1. Advanced procedures: Egg freezing techniques have advanced to a great extent in recent
times and there are no longer risks associated like it used to be a couple of years back. It is
absolutely a safe option for many working women who would like to delay conceiving a child yet
want the chromosomes to be free of abnormalities which is said to tick in with age.
2. Fight cancer: Women who were detected with cancer had maximum chances of becoming
infertile after a few years of treatment or chemotherapy. This concern is now easily solved since
women can now freeze their eggs when they are first diagnosed of cancer. This gave patients
good hope of living a normal life once they recover completely. The treatment of most of these
diseases takes years and thats when the eggs also age and might develop chromosomal
defects.
3. Younger eggs: For career oriented women, getting settled and delivering babies at the right
age when eggs are the healthiest is not an easy choice to make. Sacrificing your career and
dreams is no longer required if women freezes their eggs. It has become a choice for women in
their 20s and 30s to freeze their eggs which they can use for conceiving when they have found
the right men, even at the age of 40.
4. Low risk of miscarriage: Younger eggs have lower risks of miscarriage and genetic defects
which increases after the age of 30. Women who freeze their eggs at 20 can have a baby when
they are 40 with the same eggs that are still of the younger age and in a better condition to
produce a hale and hearty child.
5. No rushing into commitments: If a woman feels she is yet to meet the right person with whom
she sees herself raising a family and children, she has the freedom to freeze her eggs instead
of rushing into relationship for fear of passing the right age for conceiving. This procedure is
indeed an option that imparts freedom and peace of mind to women.
6. Bright Career: The option of freezing the eggs would give women more opportunities to do
well in their career. Many women have to sacrifice their career for the want of family. This is a
great option for career oriented women.

NO, EGG WOMEN SHOULD NOT FREEZE THEIR EGGS

1.Delaying childbirth: Egg freezing was introduced for women fighting cancer or any other
disease, the treatment of which might cause infertility. But women are now opting for this
technique just to delay childbirth, which seems manipulative.
2.Unsure: whether or not a woman will conceive from frozen eggs is still not 100% sure.
Compared to the natural procedure of conceiving, chance of pregnancy is much lower in this
method. After spending a big amount to delay childbirth, would you want to face
disappointment? This would also mean that you gave up on your chances of conceiving when
you could have naturally had the bliss of it.
3.Not for those who fear needles: The procedure of egg freezing requires injection of hormones
to increase the production of eggs. This is a lengthy process and requires a lot of patience and
ability to fight fear. There are other reports that say that there are no studies to prove that the
injected chemicals will not have any side effect or aftereffect on the child or the mother.
4. Strategy to recruit and retain more women: Tech giants such as Apple and Facebook (Google
might follow next) have strategically announced the paying of egg freezing bills to women
employees only for the sole purpose of recruiting more women. These companies are
completely ignoring the risks and uncertainty associated with the procedure.
Conclusion:
Egg freezing is indeed a great option for those troubled with birth defects after recovering from
treatments of cancer but the procedure being replaced for normal conceiving only to delay
childbirth is not justified. It is like using a longtime contraceptive until one is sure of having a
baby. But the failure of this contraceptive method would only lead to infertility which might not be
cured after a certain age.

SHOW GREEN LIGHT TO RED LIGHT AREAS.

Introduction:
Lalitha Kumaramangalam, chairperson of the National Commission for Women, has recently
advocated legalizing sex work with a view that it would help fight trafficking of women and
improve the condition of sex workers. There are people who are of the view that legalizing
prostitution would make India unethical and is a dishonorable step for the tradition of the
country. There are others who believe that legalizing prostitution is important if the government
wants to improve their living conditions. Let us consider both the approaches.

Yes, it will be good for those involved:

1. Preventing AIDS: Though there has been tremendous development in the field of medicine
and treatments as well as protective measures have been introduced to safeguard the nation of
the deadly disease. However, the sex workers have no access to this development since what
for them is work, is a sin for us. Legalizing prostitution would make it easier to prevent this
disease altogether.

2. Victim and culprit: Legalizing prostitution is necessary since it would make the difference
between victim and culprit easier to scrutinize. Sex workers across the nation face problems of
injustice, exploitation and other serious crimes against women. Many of them are forced into the
flesh-trade without their own will and the worst part is that there is no way for them to get out of
it. When these groups of women go with a complaint of rape or other torture, there are hardly
any actions taken for they are themselves regarded as the ones who invite problems willingly.
3. Prevention of human trafficking: Legalizing prostitution would help prevent human trafficking
to a great extent. Child prostitution and those forced into the skin trade could be rescued by the
government with the help of sex worker, to whom the government can in turn provide support
and option to come out of it and decide their course of life ahead.
4. Prevent violence: Legalizing prostitution would give the sex workers the freedom to stop the
violent treatment they have to deal with. There have been cases where a man who killed more
than 40 prostitutes was not punished even after he accepted the murder. Sex workers too have
the right to be treated as humans and not merely toys to be played with and then broken and
thrown out.
5. Prevent rape: Kirby R. Cundiff, Associate Professor of Finance at Northeastern State
University, has rightly said, It is estimated that if prostitution were legalized in the United States,
the rape rate would decrease by roughly 25% for a decrease of approximately 25,000 rapes per
year. The same applies to India.
No, prostitution is immoral and legalization won't help the plight of sex workers:
1. Legalizing prostitution would not ensure that the sex workers would not be forced by the
pimps to submit to their demands even if the woman is not ready for it. Instead, these pimps
would take advantage of the legalization law and would hide the traces of offense in the name of
legalized law.
2. On moral grounds, prostitution is still a crime and there is no justification to sell a woman
merely for money or to satisfy the needs of men. This is considered an offense and every culture
of the Indian society finds it unacceptable.
3. Prostitution has, and shall always be a degradation of women owing to poverty or illiteracy.
Inability to secure
good education and job forces women to join prostitution against their will. Legalization of it
would only worsen the situation.
4. Legalized prostitution would put marriages and relationships on stake. There would be more
single men than there are now and the numbers of divorce cases are more likely to increase.
5. There would be an increase in spread of HIV diseases since the detection of the disease
takes a period of time and many of the prostitutes remain unaware of it until they get deeply
affected by the consequences.
6. Legalizing prostitution would increase in the women trafficking. So, it is basically not going to
improve the plight of the women.
Conclusion:

The SC could consider the consequences of legalizing prostitution in India since it might even
worsen the condition and increase human trafficking to meet high demands. In my opinion,
though there are some pros of legalization, it would be safer if prostitution remains a crime in
India.

LIVE-IN RELATIONSHIPS ARE AGAINST INDIAN CULTURE

Live in relationship, a common trend in the western culture and is now a budding trend in India
as well. But the question arises that does our Indian culture and its roots have accepted this
culture.
For:
- Live in relationships have been legalised in India and is gradually being accepted specially
amongst the young generation
- The courts have been cautious about their elucidations about live in relationships, wherein
they stress on the need of a long-lasting relationship and share similar responsibilities as that a
husband and wife share in marriage
- As per the law, living together is not a crime, but it is right to life
Against:
- Live-in relationship for men and women who are already married is and should be considered
illegal
- Lot of live in relations are not registered and if there is any kind of abuse conducted on the
women, then they do not have the courage to fight against it and ultimately succumb to it
- It is yet not being accepted in our culture and this lead to a lot of notoriety in the culture
- If somehow the live in relation does not work, it gets all the more difficult to find a groom or
bride and especially in case of women because of the rejection
- Even in todays time, men prefer women who are virgin and hence its difficult for the girl
Conclusion:
- Every culture is different and its not necessary that we should adopt all cultures from the west.
Every country has its boundaries and respect for women which should not be crossed.
- Marriage is considered to be a sacred relation and with live-in relation we are mocking the
whole meaning of the term marriage.

SHOULD PORN STARS BE ACCEPTED IN INDIAN FILM INDUSTRY?

The people are dancing on the tunes of song Ragini MMS and the song is at the top of
chartbusters. The song is featured on the former porn star Sunny Leone. When Sunny Leone
was promoting for her film, there were many cities which denied a respectful stay to Sunny
Leone and even went on protests against her film promotion in the city. They dont want to see a
porn star in their city. Does this imply that society is not ready to accept the porn stars in

Bollywood industry? Does a Porn star deserve a chance to get a place in Indian film industry?
Yes
The history of the porn star is unknown. You never know the circumstances in which people
becomes a porn star. They do deserve a second chance.
A singer can join the film industry who sings item songs, Sanjay Dutt is accepted by society
who was caught in the TADA case, Salman Khan is still a favorite of many people despite of its
hit and run case, then on what base can society deny an entry to porn stars?
The Indian actresses are not behind in doing the obscene scenes on the screen. When they
are accepted then why Porn Stars cannot act in the movies.
All people have a right to change the profession as and when they want. It is their personal
right.
It is a hypocrite society where people will go and watch the videos of porn start but will not
accept her in her fair role. This needs to be changed.
No
It will convey a wrong message to youngsters. They will be encouraged to choose a new path
of porn industry to get famous and known.
Acceptance of porn starts is a signal of acceptance of open vulgarity in the society. The porn
stars might not be bad but the porn industry is.
Society or any other system works well only when it is bounded by certain rules and
regulations. If there are no boundaries, society will become filthy to survive.
It will be the start of deterioration of film industry. The industry that is followed by millions of
people cannot be allowed to change its face.
If you look at Sunny Leone, till this time she has made no news by her performance. They will
be used in the industry for exposing roles.
Conclusion
No profession or no person can be termed as completely good or bad. There are two aspects of
every situation. But it is necessary that the good part should overshadow the bad one. If the
porn stars stay the same people as they were in the past, then they dont deserve a place in
Indian film industry.

DO WE REALLY WANT A CORRUPTION FREE INDIA?

The Lokpal movement has reflected the mindset of Indian people about corruption and has
shown their desperation to get rid of it. Contrary to this, the unprecedented support to ex CM of

Tamil Nadu, after she was sent to jail in a corruption case has questioned the very intentions of
people towards corruption. This incident forced us to introspect, whether we really want a
corruption free India or not.
Yes:
-The support after such incidents is not a new phenomenon. The crowd in these cases consists
of political supporters, whereas most people appreciate courts verdict and are serious about
corruption.
-Unexpected support to Lokpal movement throughout the country reflects the seriousness of the
issue for us and forced government to pass the much delayed Lokpal bill.
-More and more people are coming forward in fight against corruption by using RTI, registering
cases of corruption etc.
-Judicial activism in cases of corruption like 2G etc. is only possible because of the seriousness
of people towards corruption.
-Corruption, black money and good governance have become priority political issues today,
because of the pressure from people who have now started expecting the solutions from
politicians.
No:
-People project corruption as a very normal thing, when someone known to them is convicted or
arrested in corruption case.
-Indian voters elect corrupt politicians again and again during elections. This trend questions
their seriousness towards corruption.
-We ourselves promote corruption for our own interests. This is clearly evident in public offices
where several cases of bribing public officials have been taken into account by respective
authorities.
Conclusion:
The unfolding of events after conviction of politicians is highly disappointing. But this doesnt
reflect the mentality of majority. The unprecedented wave of protest against corruption has
undoubtedly increased awareness among people and now they have become more vocal in
condemning the acts of corruption. We need to take this fight forward and continue the efforts
for making India corruption free.

MOBILE SOCIAL NETWORK - ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

The popularity of Smartphones and internet is rising rapidly all over the world. Nowadays, hardly
there are few people who make use of traditional messenger for communication. They have
been replaced by the mobile messaging apps launched by various companies. As a matter of

fact, the apps have become an integral part of human life. People wake up with messages and
sleep after sending messages. Let us check out what are the advantages and disadvantages of
mobile messaging apps:
Advantages
Mobile messaging apps are one of the best ways to provide engagement and smooth user
interaction,
There is no need to use lengthy words while messaging; instead users can make use of voice
messages, abbreviated words, smileys, stickers for healthy conversation.
Mobile messaging apps allows the users to share videos and images with their friends, family
or all other people.
Mobile messaging apps are the way to save extra cost spent on messaging. What one
requires is just internet pack on Smartphone to deliver messages.
Mobile messaging apps have the feature of mailing the entire conversation, and therefore,
users can also save it and read it a later stage.
The best part of mobile messaging apps is group messaging. The groups can be formed and
an open conversation can be there between all the members.
Mobile messaging apps are useful for various business purposes also. They help in sending the
pictures of the products to customers and get new orders.
Disadvantages
Whether it is in traditional form of messaging or messaging apps, users like to use abbreviated
language that adversely affects their writing skills.
Mobile messaging apps are addictive and people are getting used to it. It is becoming an
addiction like the other drugs.
Mobile messaging apps use is rising day by day and people are living in a factual word
surrounded with factual relationships.
There are numerous mobile messaging apps available for download, and even users download
them and spend their entire time in checking the messages again and again.
Mobile messaging apps are even a problem to Smartphones too. Although the Smartphone
have the storage, but then too downloading too many messaging apps makes it work slow.
Conclusion
Mobile messaging apps have both advantages and disadvantages. Messaging is one of the
finest way to exchange information and communicate in a device-agnostic worldwide way. It can
be used for both the commercial and personal use. However, extremity of anything is bad. The

same thing applies for mobile messaging apps. They are for convenience but people are
making it addiction leading to health and psychological problems

A PERMANENT SEAT IN THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL IS NEITHER NECESSARY NOR

SUFFICIENT FOR INDIA TO BECOME A WORLD POWER

The United Nations Security Council is an organization that has the primary responsibility of
maintenance of international peace and security. The council is composed of 5 permanent
members and ten non-permanent members including India(2012). Because of the nature of
functioning of this body, a permanent seat for India could add an advantage.
For:
- Few of the goals of the council are to eradicate poverty, reduce child mortality etc. India, as a
country is anyway encountering these issues today.
- India needs to grow more from an economical and technological standpoint. Such a seat is not
necessary for India to become a world power.
- The permanent members of the seat are extremely advanced countries.
- There could be many more ways for India to become a world power. For e.g. India can
improve the literacy rate, try and eradicate crime and poverty. When such things are in control,
a country inherently emerges as a world power.
Against:
- It will give India more recognition than today.
- With the kind of structure, recognition and powers this council holds, if India becomes a
permanent member, it can gradually help India become a world power.
- The council resolved issues like Peace consolidation in West Africa, The situation in the
Middle East etc. such Issues will make India an even more responsible country.
- Most foreign nationals perceive India to be a little less advanced country. Such a seat could
help India get rid of such perceptions.
- Few of the functions and powers of such a council is to take military action against an
aggressor and to formulate plans for the establishment of a system to regulate armaments.
India, being strong from a military perspective could be considered as a world power.
They say that with great powers comes great responsibility. It is also true that we need to start
from somewhere. Even though a permanent seat in the UN council may not be sufficient for
India to become a world power, it can be a step ahead in becoming one. India has emerged as
a developing nation and will continue to do so. Such a seat is necessary for India to gain world
pow

HAS INDIA GIVEN ENOUGH IMPORTANCE TO ITS DIASPORA?

Indian Diaspora has proved to be a bridge in bilateral relations. India is estimated to have 25
million Diaspora population spread across 110 countries. Such a huge population is an asset for
the country which needs to be tapped. But India has neglected this section and has not given
this community the expected importance. This reflects by the fact that the plan to create a data
base for the Diaspora has not been realized yet. The ongoing visit of PM Modi and the
overwhelming response he is getting from Indian Diaspora has resurfaced this issue and forces
us to introspect whether Diaspora is getting enough importance or not.
Yes:
-India has been very vocal about the crimes, injustice that are faced by Diaspora. Due to Indias
strong protest against attacks on Indian Diaspora especially Sikhs Australian government was
forced to make adequate security arrangements for these people.
-India has raised issues affecting the interest of Diaspora at various platforms and through
bilateral deliberations reflected in Indias stance on atrocities meted out to Tamilians in Sri
Lanka.
-Every year India organizes Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas to honor the immense contribution of
Diaspora. Also India has been issuing PIO and OCI cards to Diaspora for their comfortable and
hurdle free visits to India.
-Indian Leaders during their foreign visits have been seen devoting a substantial portion of their
time to Diaspora, which manifests their priority for Indian Government.
No:
-Many times the Diaspora has shown its displeasure towards government policies formulated for
them.
-Despite having a huge population, the Diaspora has not figured prominently in Indian foreign
policy objectives. Also, we dont have a dedicated ministry for this section.
-Many scientists, academicians have shown their willingness to come back and work in India.
But lack of commitment from governments side and negligence to provide the facilities they
have asked for has holding them back from coming to India.
-The immense wealth this Diaspora has created through business has not proved beneficial for
the country. They have to face corruption, infrastructural and administrative hurdles whenever
they try to invest in India.
Conclusion:
PM Modis ongoing visit to USA has shown the kind of affection and love the Diaspora has for
India. They feel proud of Indias achievement and are immensely willing to contribute in Indias

development. India too needs to make sincere efforts on the ground to remove their
apprehensions. Also, todays globalised era has converted world into global village turning
physical distance irrelevant. So, this current wave of optimism in Diaspora has given India a
golden opportunity to take the relation with Diaspora to new heights and its success will be a winwin situation for all.

ARE NAXALS THE BIGGEST INTERNAL THREAT TO INDIA'S SECURITY?

India has got one of the fastest rates of growth across developing countries in the world. It is one
the most populous democratic nations that has got the resources and potential to become a
superpower. However, there are many key challenges in the existing globalised environment.
One of such challenges faced by India since last so many years is the threat of Naxalites. In a
recent report, prepared by IEP Research, India is ranked 143 among 162 countries on peace
index. Also, it is on number four position in the Global Terrorism Index. What are the reasons
behind such a poor performance of India on security parameter? Are Naxals the biggest internal
threat to India's security?
Yes
The Naxalites highlight the nations interior weakness and revealing of interior weakness is an
open invitation to the external threats.
The Naxalites are hampering economic reforms by creating problems in developing the
regions where they rule. Also, the resources that should be used for nations overall
development is spent on internal security so as to control the Naxalite activities.
Naxalites highlight several underlying weaknesses of Indias political structure, governance
and socio-economic structure.
The Naxalites control over 40% of Indias geographical area and are concentrated in remote
and densely forested areas known as Red Corridor. Leave alone wiping them off; Indian
security system cannot even locate them in these remote areas.
The conflicts between the military and the guerillas are the biggest threat to the citizens and
their properties.
No
Terrorism is a much bigger issue than the Naxalites as terrorism has got no religion and
results in huge loss of lives and properties in one single incident.
Corruption and criminalization in Indian politics is a major threat because if the system is not
clean, no threat whether internal or external can be faced.
Indias diverse population is the biggest threat as the imbalance between demand and supply
of resources is increasing day by day.

The emergence of ethnic conflicts like it happened in event of Telangana will have a drastic
effect on India in coming time.
Policy paralysis and instability resulting out of political terror is hampering Indias growth in
various sectors. India scores 4 out of 5 on the Political Terror Scale. Rank 5 represents highest
level of suppression.
Conclusion
There is no doubt that Naxalites problem is one of the major threats to Indias internal security. It
has got multi-dimensional adverse impact on nation. Moreover, failure to stop the internal threat
is an open invitation to external threats. However, the main culprit behind the Naxalite problem
is poor governance. Until and unless, the political mess is not cleared, the problems of Naxalites
can never be solved. Therefore, the real threat is not the Naxalites but the real threats are the
political parties and the system which has failed to contain the problem in so many years.

ARE SCHOOLS IN INDIA COMPETENT TO HANDLE SEX EDUCATION CLASSES?

Sex education classes are an important step in the modern world to make inform teenagers
about the good and bad practices of sex. It is a very controversial issue especially in the country
like India that follows conservative approach in handling sex education. However, it is necessary
to understand that the education is not confined to sex. The many issues like sexual
reproduction, sexual diseases, sexual health and many others are linked with it. Parents are not
comfortable about discussing such matters with children and therefore, schools have to take the
initiative to pass the learning. Even if it happens, do you think that schools in India are
competent to handle sex education classes?
Yes
To avoid the embarrassment among the students, teachers can always take the sessions
separately for girls and boys.
There is no need to tell all the details. Only specific problems related to sex indulgence in
scientific way should be given.
Teachers know how to use the right language and avoid street slang while delivering the sex
education classes.
India is no more a conservative country. It has made progress in several areas like adoption of
living-in relationship, widow marriage and so on.
Coming to technology and resources, it has got hand on everything and teachers can use
PPTs presentations to convey the message properly.
Cons

Teachers are not trained to take sex education classes. So, the wrong way of imparting
lessons can do more harm than benefits.
Many schools dont have the proper resources and infrastructure to take regular sessions.
Special classes for sex education and awareness hold no scope.
Competency does not mean that schools should have tangible resources. It also suggests that
schools should have open minded teachers who support the thought. One should not
forget well educated health minister Harsh Vardhan opposed sex education few months back.
Many political parties consider the sex education as against Indian values, and when the
mindset doesnt favor a thought, all the resources seems useless.
The education can be imparted only when teachers and school authorities learn the difference
between comprehensive sex education and Abstinence-Only Programs.
Conclusion
Sex education classes are important as they help the students to know about safe sex,
reproductive system and sexually transmitted diseases. However, it is more important to focus
on the methods of delivering the information to students. For it, first it is essential for the
teachers to get the formal training on how to take sex education classes. It should in no way
take an inappropriate or vulgar form in schools. Indian schools can impart it well. The only need
is to start the practice as soon as possible.

WOULD YOU GIVE POCKET MONEY TO YOUR CHILD?

It is a changed world but still some things and some practices never change. One of such
practices is giving pocket money to children. There are many people who think that just because
peoples living conditions have improved, therefore, the trend of pocket money has started. It is
a myth and completely baseless. Even parents from poor background give some form of pocket
money to their children. So what do you think? Do you agree with the concept of giving pocket
money to your child or you are against the notion?
Yes
When children get pocket money, they dont have to look out at their parents for small little
purchases. They can buy the things as per their convenience.
Pocket money provides financial freedom to the children where they understand the real value
of money and equivalent exchange.
Pocket money not only supports the expenses of children but also induces a feeling of savings
in young age.
It is a busy world where parents dont have enough time for children. Giving pocket money
buys them some time for themselves.

Pocket money makes children responsible as they have to set the budget and then decide
what they want to do with that money. They experience satisfaction and pride when they use it
rationally.
No
Children dont have the maturity to use money judiciously and therefore, they end up buying
things they dont need.
Children dont share the details of their purchases with parents and can sometimes end up
buying things that are not suitable for young age like adult magazines, cigarettes or drugs.
Pocket money is the easiest way to make the childrens nature extravagant which is tough to
go as the time progresses.
Children tend to forget the value of parents time and other relations and consider money as
the top priority.
Sometimes pocket money can attract unnecessary trouble for kids like attention of illegal
elements, bullying cases of senior students and likewise.
Conclusion
Giving limited amount of money to children as pocket money is not wrong. However, parents
should keep some check on their children as to how they use their pocket money. They dont
need to cross check every little purchase but should definitely keep a check on one time
expensive purchase or repeated demand of more money. Once they have taught basic
principles to children, they can provide them with complete freedom. After all pocket money is
the first step towards financial learning

PRIVATE OR GOVERNMENT SCHOOL - WHICH IS BETTER?

Introduction
The debate between the comparison of private and government educational institutes will go on
till eternity. Both have their own significance in their respective fields. Both types of institutes
have much to nurture and reproduce the future champions of India. Is that only the schools who
are responsible for the development of the children? If so, which could be better private or the
Government ones? Many feel that the private institutes are better over government schools, is
that true?
Private
- Private schools have better infrastructure required for the physical and mental development of
the child. They can help with the required facilities for the students to learn their lessons in a
better way. The infrastructure can help them to have a practical approach to education.

- The private institutes are better in their approach towards the psychological development of
the children.
- Private schools maintain better hygiene and environment which could safeguard the health of
the students.
- The education imparted in the private schools are more of audio-visual now-a-days with the
emergence of computers into the learning.
- Private schools can also provide better sport activities and equipments for the physical
development of the children.
- Students can learn the civilized and modern approach which is of demand in the MNC culture
which is feeding many of us in present era.
Government
- Government schools are affordable and they provide the minimum required infrastructure to
meet the basic needs.
- Private schools do not accommodate the low economic group students. Right to education is
the freedom for everyone, and government schools provide education to all the children without
any partiality.
- Policies like Free and compulsory education and Education to the girl child are made
possible only in the government schools.
- Government schools also provide the basic sports facilities and physical education to the
students.
- Private schools cannot compete in the essential educational requirements of the staffs that the
government schools fulfil.
- Government institutes also provide good salary to their teaching and management faculties.
Conclusion
Private schools are definitely better than government schools as they would provide better
infrastructure, better teacher to student ratio, have a clean & hygienic facility, provide better
environment for students with options of personality development and extracurricular activities.
Government schools may not be able to offer all these features but for those who cannot afford
private schools, getting their children in government schools is better than no schooling at all.
INCREASED POPULARITY FOR KAUN BANEGA CROREPATI TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE
OR A LUST FOR FAME AND MONEY?

Introduction

The Television industry is currently featuring the Season 8 of Kaun Banega Crorepati. There
were many other programmes on the same lines which were presented on various channels,
but this very first one has stolen the hearts of the millions of Indians. The charm of Amitabh
Bachchan had captivated the people of all age groups. No other similar programme could match
or patch up to compete the level of this game show. This game has knowledge, entertainment,
rewards and more importantly the chance of getting famous and meeting the millennium star.
Though there are a lot many reasons for this show getting back every year reaching up till
Season 8, what could be the actual reason of the increased popularity for Kaun Banega
Crorepati to gain knowledge or a lust for fame and money?
Knowledge
- The programme has a rich collection of questions which definitely increases the intelligence.
- Majority of the audience being the once sitting at their home to pass their time only have
motive to gain knowledge while wtching this programme every day.
-The show has a bizzare collection of questions which covers the people of different intellectual
levels.
- The knowledge and talent of the host is the key reason to keep up the viewer strength. The
Television programme rating of this programme is maintained at the best level due to the
knowledgeable presentation by the Millennium Star.
- The programme not only covers the ones sitting at the arena, but keeps the audience at the
theatre, the near and dear ones of the participants and the audience at home into the loop with
an alertness. They have the questionnaire for everyone to participate and be a part of the
programme.
Fame and Money
- It is more importantly the money, the cash prize that attracts people towards this programme.
Winning a crore by answering a mere set of few questions could be a golden opportunity.
- The next most captivating point being the host himself, Amitabh Bachchan, the millenium star.
Many people participate just to see and converse with a star of great repute.
- The knowledge that the anchor shares is all the learnt for the show and nothing is real in the
show.
- A person gets famous in his circle just by getting to the hot seat.
- The audience at home are also given the chance to win the rewards by answering the
questions. Hence they get glued up to the programme just in the lure for money.
Conclusion
Kaun Banega Crorepati, the title itself re-iterates "the game of money". The present generation
is more towards gaining easy money rather than looking out to shape their intellect. The
programme not only provides general awareness but also tests the presence of mind of the

individual into action. The people definitely are more attracted towards money, though we
cannot categorise everyone under single head. The tendency and aptitude to gain knowledge is
equally found among the people sitting in front of the television every day

E-LEARNING IS GOOD FOR THE EDUCATION SYSTEM AND SOCIETY.

The advancement in the technology has taken education sector to a new level which is Elearning. This is an improved way of education system.
For
- E-learning sources provide best study materials which is very helpful for the students
knowledge building process.
- This process of education makes life easier for students.
- Students dont have to remember every thing or dont have to take notes of every important
point as they have every thing on net through E-learning source.
- It reduces the travel time and associated cost in the process of learning.
- E-learning gives flexibility to students with respect to time and place.
- More knowledge based activities are included in E-learning programs.
- Students get an option to see the things they don't undertand in one go again.
Against
- E-learning has made students lazy as they dont put in as much efforts as compared to
students who were used to before this e-learning evolution.
- Students dont attend their important lectures as they have E-learning resource available 24*7.
- Now they dont have to work hard to make notes and prepare for exams.
- Students have started depending on these E-learning programs.
- It lacks face to face communication which is important for overall development of the student.
- Many villages and remote areas do not have an access to internet or the internet speed there
is too slow.
E-learning has its advantages as well as disadvantages. It has made the education system
more flexible and more knowledge based. E-learning techniques clubbed together with face to
face interaction with a teacher can prove to be extremely useful for the students.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF SCRAPPING RTOS

Introduction
Modis Government is set to change the nation and give it a new outlook. They have started with
the transport regulations as well. Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport and
Highways have announced the new transformations in the transport regulatory systems. Along
with the transformations, he has informed about supposedly scrapping up of the RTOs, which
he feels would not be required with the implementation of fresh laws. Let us check the
advantages and disadvantages of scrapping RTOs.

Advantages
- The RTOs are often a big harassment to the common man who enters the office to seek help.
The common man is made to run from pillar to post to get his job done. If the same work will be
done efficiently without RTOs, then it would be time and energy saving for the public.
- The RTOs form a big part of corruption in our country. Scrapping the RTOs would be a move
against corruption as well.
- The RTOs are the first place where the traffic rules are broken. The officers issuing the
licenses without having a thorough check leads to lot many accidents across the city. This
would be an initiative towards avoiding accidents if the driving licenses are issued in a proper
way.
- The agents linked with the RTOs play a major role in the violation of the rules and regulations.
This would be a check to such agents and clarity in the course of action by the transport
regulatory authorities.
- The common man will not be unnecessarily harassed and fined to meet the collection targets
laid for the Traffic Police.
Disadvantages
- In case the government is planning to substitute all the tasks of the RTO with the systems and
machineries, then this would be big hit for the employment of so many employees. With every
single technology replacing many men, we are wasting our richest resource of manpower.
- Technology needs to be ruled by humans. The technology should not rule the man. The
systems cannot replace the human tasks and duties which definitely require the office structure.
- The regional transport offices have helped in segregating the masses into smaller groups to
get their work completed. Summing up the whole society into a single unit may create more
havoc.
- We cannot implement the foreign way of transportation in India. We have already visualised
many accidents due to the BRT corridors in Delhi which were again an imitation of the foreign
way of transport regulation.
Conclusion
To be precise, we can accept some changes in the transport regulatory system for good, but
scrapping the RTOs altogether in a single go might not be all that easy for the commuters and
the general public. If an efficient technology aided by the manpower could provide good
corruption-free and time-saving service, there would be a single hand in opposition in scrapping
the RTOs. Thus we need to be careful for accommodating all the employees of the
transportation sector along with the welfare of the general public and daily commuters before
going ahead with this big move scrapping the RTOs.

WIVES AND GIRLFRIENDS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED ON CRICKETING TOURS.

Introduction
Following the great mishap with the England tour, considering the case of Virat Kohli who was
accompanied by his girlfriend to the tour, the BCCI is planning to restrict the players from
allowing their wives and girlfriends during the cricketing tours. The repeated failure of Virat Kohli
was already a matter of concern, and his under-performance at England series and spending
calm atmosphere with his girlfriend has led the BCCI to think over this matter. The BCCI had
allowed the cricketers to accompany their spouse during the tours and they also used to
arrange for the stay and seating at the stadium for them.
Instead of a better performance, players seem to get distracted. So, is it fine to say Wives and
Girlfriends should not be allowed on cricketing tours?
Yes
- Players get distracted in the company of spouse and forget to excel on the pitch. Their focus
seems to be lost somewhere.
- Players spend their valuable practising hours with their spouse exploring the city which is not
good to the self-performance of the players or for the team India as a whole.
- Players might be over-concerned about the requirements of their wife and girlfriend. The
touring time should be fully focused on the game and its winning prospective instead of other
house-hold concerns.
- Players might try to impress their loved-ones sitting in the audience row and lose their focus on
the ball and the game. They might also feel the urge to get back to have some more time with
their girlfriend instead of having a winning strategy.
- It is an unwanted expense for the BCCI to spend for the spouse of the players during the
cricketing tours.
No
- Having their better-halves along will boost up the morale and efficiency of the players. This
might increase their performance on the field.
- Not all the players behave in an irresponsible way. They do value time and avoid spending the
practise hours in roaming around the cities. BCCI should not place strict restrictions just
considering a few cases as examples.
- The concern for the family and the loved ones remains even in their absence. That has nothing
to do with their spouse accompanying the tours. Players do have other relations which they are
concerned about. BCCI cannot alter the thoughts and emotions by avoiding the spouse on tour.
- Our players are matured enough; and all through till now, we have also visualised good plays
by the players who have accompanied their spouse. Few incidences cannot over-view the past

brilliant games won with the spouse attending the game in the audience row.
- Expenditure on the travel and stay of the spouse of the cricketers is again a winning strategy to
boost-up the spirit of the players. So the expense cannot be called a mere wastage.
Conclusion
Though we can have arguments in favour of players accompanying their wife and children yet
we cannot deny the fact that players do get distracted in this manner. They require time to
practice and relax during the cricketing tours instead of exploring the city. Instead of gaining
encouragement from their loved ones, they tend to lose their focus and it is a loss not only for
them but for the team India as a whole. It is understandable on the part of BCCI to restrict the
company of wives and girlfriends in the tours, which is nothing but a mere waste of money for
the cricket board. Hence, it is good to impose restrictions on the time period of travel for the
spouse during the cricketing tours.

MILITARY TRAINING SHOULD BE MADE COMPULSORY IN INDIA.

Have you ever heard word Conscription? Well it is a form of compulsory enlistment of local
people in national service or military service. It is something that is going on from ages in some
places, and really helped people. In India also, some people are in favor of compulsory military
training. They want the central government to seriously consider the proposal of military training
in educational institutes. Can you think of Indians attending two - three months of compulsory
military training? Some countries like Switzerland have it. So, should it be made compulsory in
India?
Yes
India faces the shortage of military officers, and the step could help the government to get the
required number.
It will provide a morale boost and a stronger representation to the army brigade of Himachal
Pradesh.
The restructuring of regiments by making military training compulsory will lower down the walls
of differences between rural and urban India, the different states and the communities.
The compulsory military training will be a form of vocational training that will utilize some years
of youth life for constructive purposes.
Military training will instill much needed discipline and patriotism in the hearts of young blood
that are just blindly walking on the path of westernization.
It will provide a means to many young people who want to be a part of public enterprise but
sometimes cannot fulfill the entrance criteria.
The past has shown that conscription has helped the countries like Israel and Switzerland
during the tough times.

It will help the women to protect themselves from the illicit elements who want to take undue
advantage of females.
No
The compulsory military training will create more and more powerful regiments divided on
regional basis. India is not a place to implement such law.
The compulsory military training that is worth anything will come with a cost, and the problem
is who will bear the cost? The taxpayers money cannot be wasted like this.
Anything that is made compulsory or forced is not liked by the people, no matter it is
interesting or useful.
The prime years of youth cannot be forced to spend in vocational training as these are the
years to have fun in life.
Forcing military training in India is like violation of individual rights as it will be like providing the
service for any government whether the person supports it or not.
The idea of compulsory military training is feasible only in countries that have a small
population base.
Many a times women are not made a part of such programs and then all the burden comes
solely on men.
It will not foster the national pride in people but will be considered as involuntary servitude and
slavery.
The efforts, time and money will be totally wasted as an unwilling and forced training will be
inefficient.
The simple decisions in India cannot be implemented due to political problems. How do you
expect the populist politicians to take such a hard decision?
Conclusion
Military training in India has to be perceived in many parameters. It has to be analyzed in terms
of social, economic, political and national factors. The idea of compulsory military training at first
idea seems good but the problem is the country is not ready to implement such training at this
level. It will give one more reason to politicians to divide the country. Instead of encouraging the
national spirit it will provide the people with an extra tool to make illegal forces. Moreover,
Indians have the right to select, and therefore in any case government cannot force the decision
on people.
CELEBRITIES SHOULD BE WELCOMED IN POLITICS.

For

- They attract a mass following and can sway public opinion in the right direction.
- The celebrities have been successful in their respective field and have the right ethics required
being successful in politics.
- Celebrities can do a lot for the welfare of the people as they also live in amongst the common
people.
- They have the power to persuade or convince the majority to work in favor of development of
the country.
- They have a huge fan following which only makes it easier for them to operate.
Against
- Whether it is Govinda or any other actor for that matter, no ones attendance has been up to
the mark in parliament.
- No one has really raised a particular issue, which has worked in the favor of the nation.
- If you were to analyze the achievements of the actors present in politics, it has been close to
negligible.
- They are already so engrossed in their lives, that it has been seen over the years that they
dont have the political mind frame to perform in politics.

CAN NARENDRA MODI CREATE THATCHER MOMENTS IN INDIA?

No one can deny the importance of Margaret Thatcher in changing the economic scenario of
Britain. She was the Prime Minister of Britain from 1979-1990. Now Indias new Prime Minister
Narendra Modi is compared to Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan. There is no doubt that
the Indians are expecting a miracle from Narendra Modi. Can Narendra Modi pass the
expectations of people? Can he create Thatcher moments in India?
Yes
Narendra Modi is assertive, nationalist, authoritarian and dynamic individual. He has the
charisma to bring the economic turnaround in the country.
Gujarat is one of the fastest growing business states that stands firm on economic fronts.
Gujarat model speaks a lot about Narendra Modi.
Narendra Modi and Margaret Thatcher both arise to the political world from grass root levels
and are well aware with the problems that a common man faces in real life. Thatcher is a lower
middle class grocers daughter.

Thatcher inherited almost a finished economy in Britain and even Narendra Modi has inherited
the economy that is facing the problems of slow growth, higher CAD and high inflationary
pressures.
Thatcher stood firm on her grounds and brought the change. Modi is no different as he invited
Nawaz Sharif on swearing-in ceremony. He will focus on reduced state involvement and will
work on centre-state relationship.
No
Expecting Thatcher moments from Modi is unrealistic as India is more of a socialist country.
Thatcher brought a change in Britain which has a very different structure from India. It is not
complex or diverse as India.
Thatcher built the constituency for reform on various parameters like privatization, deregulation
etc which is not visible in the Modis case.
One of the biggest differences in Modis case and Thatcher case is of expectations from
countrys residents. There was a great deal of skepticism when Thatcher became Prime Minster.
However, expectations are quite high from Modi.
Institutional Constraints will affect all the plans of Modi. As of now, for at least one year, the
opposition party Congress will still have a strong hold in the upper house of the Parliament.
Conclusion
Narendra Modi is the man selected by the people of India with a hope that he has the potential
to deal with the problems of low growth, high inflation and joblessness. Luckily, he sworn for the
post at the right time when there are signs of inflation under control and economic growth is
likely to see a positive turnaround. As of now, Modi will focus more on manufacturing and
infrastructure that in no way resembles a Thatcherite work model.

WOMEN SHOULD NOT WORK IN NIGHT SHIFTS.

Introduction
The recent step on the Amendment of the Factories Amendment Bill tabled in Lok Sabha on
lifting the bar on the womens working hours during the night shift have created the topic for
discussion and debates regarding the womens restrictions and security. Though BJP is more
towards the business enhancement by making the night hours open for the women in the
factories, the Congress on the contrary is debating over the security and safety of women in the
society. The Congress spokesperson cum Congresss womens wing leader Shobha Oza has
come up with the strong opposition on getting this bill passed, projecting the security concern
prevailing in the city. Even the Left Parties are against the amendment of this bill. With an
increased crime index against women in the city, would it be wise to get the Act amended? It is
the voice of many others that Women should not work in night shifts. What is your say?

Yes
- Womens safety is actually a matter of utmost concern at present. With a fear of security of the
females going out for work, the families couldnt live a relaxing life.
- Congress has very correctly come up with the point of transportation of the working class in
the factories, which would be public transport by default. We have already visualised the rape
and sexual assault cases during the late night hours in the public transport, which highly alerts
the women folk.
- Women also get afflicted by health concerns more as compared to men by working in the night
shifts for prolonged period.
- Women have the dual responsibility of taking care of the house as well as the professional life.
A balance becomes very difficult during night shifts especially for the married women.
- Children at home demand the attention and care of mother at night, who would be deprived of
their basic emotional instinct by the night shifts of women.
No
- Women are living their life in the liberal world, and restricting them of their right to freedom is
not fair enough.
- Women are highly competent, and the business class is working round the clock to meet the
global clock. In such a scenario, the business demands the support of our women to grow the
economy of the nation.
- Women need proper rest and nourishment to take care of their health. The health concern is
not necessarily a concern only with the women working in night shifts. There are females who
remain healthy despite working in night shifts.
- Women of present generation are smart enough to manage both family and professional life
simultaneously. And we can find the change in the thinking of men folk who try to help their
spouse in the household works.
- Children are much matured now-a-days and they understand the necessity of their mother
working for their better upbringing. They know the value of time and requirement and maintain
harmony adjusting to the prevailing circumstances.
- If we are worried about the safety of the women, we should focus more on strengthening the
law and order rather than stopping women from working in the night.
Conclusion
It is very obvious that the working females could make a better economy for the country and
provide a better living for their family. But working in the night shifts is definitely not safe with the
prevailing law and order situation in the country. Government should aim at curbing the crime
rate against women and provide the justice to the pending cases immediately before going

ahead with the Factories Amendment Bill. It would be wiser for the females to work in day shifts
in Factories unlike BPOs who get the office cab facility for their transportation.

DOES INDIA NEED FDI IN INSURANCE?

Introduction
The BJP government is more towards focussing on the economy and its development, rather
than concentrating on the consequences of their decisions and moves. Next to the real estate,
the Foreign Direct Investment into the Insurance sector has initiated agitation into the insurance
sector. The employees are already against the introduction of FDI into the insurance. The
sudden change in the approach of the BJP led NDA government in getting the Insurance Law
Bill passed, which had been presented by the UPA government in 2008, has stirred up the
nation. Does India really need FDI in Insurance Sector?
Yes

- It will provide additional source of finance for insurance companies

- It will promote development of insurance sector by bringing in more products & features in this
sector, by way of sharing knowledge with foreign investors
- Insurance companies funded by FDI may have lower cost of capital and better operating
efficiency thus resulting in cheaper and better cover to end consumers.
- FDI in Insurance will introduce more competition in this market which will improve the services
of the existing players also.
- We have seen in the past as well, competition teaches new strategies, better management and
more focus on customer satisfaction. So, this would ultimately benefit the customers.
No
- Higher stake holding by foreigners would mean higher foreign control on the insurance
company, thus runs a risk of having some decisions which are not in the best interest of
domestic consumers.
- Foreign Direct Investment is money put in to our country by financial institutions or individuals of
another country, and thus some or most of the profit made would at some point move outside
our country and invested or spent in another country or home country.
- Different countries have different regulations in insurance sector, Government may need to
relax some regulations in order to encourage FDI which may not always be in best interest of
the country.
- Non FDI funded domestic insurance companies may have higher cost of capital and they would
need to find ways of competing with lower premium offered by FDI funded insurance
companies.
- There are already a lot of players in the insurance field which means that the competition
already exists and services are quite good. LIC is one of the best companies in insurance sector
offering one of the best and quickest settlements to the customers. Not much of competition is
desied in this field.
- If the government is worried about the customers, it should make the laws stronger to ensure
that the customers do get their deserved and promised benefits.
Conclusion
There are always pros and cons of each decision, FDI will increase competition and basis
economics would suggest that when the supply increases as compared to demand the prices
will come down, thus benefiting the end customers. The insurance sector in India is still under
developed as compared to developed countries, and despite private players now allowed to
enter this sector, we only have a small number of providers. FDI would increase the number of
insurance companies and may also make possible better plans at lower prices. But careful
consideration is required to ensure that the investment stays for long term and does not get
withdrawn, leaving the companies and their domestic customers in a miserable position, and not

all profits are moved outside the country but some reinvested or spent in our country.
Regulations need to be revisited to ensure that Insurance Companies are subject to relevant
and strict governance
DIVORCE - WIFE SHOULD GET 50% OF HUSBAND'S RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY?

For
- Its a great move towards gender equality.
- It gives a clearly defined share in the husbands property. The bill passed works for the welfare
of the divorced women and their children.
- Women can now rely on themselves after the divorce as they would get the required funds that
would help them raise themselves as well as their children.
- Our society is a male dominated one, so passing this bill would mean equal weightage to the
women in a matrimonial life.

Against
- The law does not seem to be fair for marriages that shatter in a matter of months.
- These amendments should be enforced only after a broad and widespread debate concerning
both the genders.
- This would lead to many divorces as passing this law would mean security in terms of money
for the women getting a divorce. Thus, encouraging more women to file divorce.
- It is very nave on the part of our government to think that wives are the one that are the
victims in a divorce.
- This law will also make men more conscious and hesitant on buying properties after marriage.
Thus, affecting the economy in return.
LIVE AND LET DIE

Have you ever heard Live and Let Die concept? Well you will say I have gone out of my mind
changing the famous slogan Live and Let Live. But have you ever given a thought to the new
concept of Live and Let Die? Change is the law of nature. And when everything is changing,
some old thoughts, some old saying also need a change. So, should the famous saying Live
and Let Live be converted to Live and Let Die?
Yes

The world has become so competitive that if you go ahead to save the other person, you are
going to miss the race.
Live and Let Die is used in the context of Euthanasia wherein people should have the right to
give up their life if they are hardly chances of survival.
Live and Let Die should be used in the present world, and it can be seen in the success of the
famous theme song of the James Bond movie Live and Let Die.
People hardly have got any resources to fulfill their needs of life, and so they dont have any
need to go ahead and help others.
People can be ignorant to other problems until and unless they are not the cause of their
problems.
No
Talking about Live and Let Die in context of Euthanasia cannot be allowed as no human has
the right to take its own life.
People cannot just ignore the sufferings of people and move on, as it will be against the
humanitarian ground.
People just keep on cribbing about their problems. The resources are enough, and people
should use a part of them to help others.
Whenever people see any road accident, they ignore and move on. If they cannot take the
person to the hospital, at least they can go ahead and call an ambulance.
Conclusion
Live and let die is the concept followed by people in the present world. There is a huge
difference between the two concepts of live and let live, and live and let die. People need to
understand that in the first concept live and let live, other people are moving on with their
happiness or sorrows while in the second case live and let die, people need your help in some
or other way. Being a human you cannot allow anyone to suffer. Dont compromise on your
happiness, but make sure to contribute wherever you can.

River Ganges: Pure Or Impure

India is a land of traditions. Most of the people perform their work as per the set traditions. Apart
from traditions, they deeply believe in the religious places. One of such places is the bank of River
Ganges. This river holds a lot of importance for people. However, when we see its condition, the
question that automatically arises is: Are all the traditions and beliefs really worth it? Hindus
believe that the circle of life ends at this place. It is a pure blessing to die here. How do you see
River Ganges? Pure Or Impure?

Pure
River Ganges hold a lot more religious importance for people. Though it is polluted, but in
religious terms it is the purest thing of the world.
River Ganges is a place of tourist attraction and as per that perspective anything that brings
good is pious and pure.
The land surrounding the River Ganges is one of the most fertile lands of the country.
River Ganges account for more than 25% of Indias total water resources making it useful, pure
and important.
As the spring comes, Himalayan snow melts and River Ganges is swelled with water. It brings
life everywhere to trees, to crops and aptly explains the circle of life.
Impure
River Ganges is a highly polluted river where people from everywhere come and fill it with
unwanted stuff.
River Ganges is becoming a concern for the government as it cannot find some right solutions
to purify the river.
Even if the government designs out a plan it will require lots of funds and efforts to clean the
holiest river of the country.
The crime rate in Varanasi as well as in Haridwar is really very high. In fact women are not at
all safe in Haridwar taking away the piousness of Ganga.
There is no proper form of control available in the two cities making it really tough for the
visitors to save themselves from illegal elements.
Conclusion
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has planned the Ganga Action Plan to clean the sacred river of
India. The new plan will be implemented under the supervision of water resources minister. It is
fact that River Ganges is an integral part of Hinduism. Still it is also necessary to analyze the
things from different perspectives. It is an important resource of country that can be utilized for
many other constructive purposes. And it is the moral duty of people to keep the River Ganges
clean and pure in every way.

DRINKING RED WINE IS BENEFICIAL TO HEALTH

How many times you have heard that alcohol can be good for health? You must be thinking I am
drunk and have lost my senses that is leading me to debate on such a one sided topic. Most of
the people will say that Red wine is alcohol and it has got no health benefits. While on the other
hand, there are people who defend red wine and call is as a magical alcohol drink? Can a drink

be really healthy? Let us check out the pros and cons of having red wine:
Yes
Unlike other drinks, Red wine has got antioxidants that fight free radicals and protects the cells
from any harm.
Red Wine contains the antioxidant known as resveratrol that plays a vital role in blood thinning,
and thus prevents heart attacks.
Red Wine assists the human system in the process of digestion and helps in getting rid of
bloating.
Red Wine is good for skin care as again the antioxidants fights free radicals and delays the
appearance of wrinkles.
Red Wine is considered a healthy drink for women as it prevents breast cancer, and fights the
problems like osteoporosis or premature menopause.
No
Red wine like alcohol can lead to obesity and obesity is considered as the mother of all the
health problems.
Red wine when is consumed in excess gives way to heart diseases making it act against its
own natural benefit.
Red Wine like other drinks has a adverse impact on the fertility rate of men and women in
longer term.
Red Wine is also alcohol, and therefore results in lack of concentration and consciousness,
becoming a cause of road accidents.
Red Wine contains Tannin that leads to severe headaches in the people who consume it. It
can even induce migraine to the people who already suffer from the problem.
Conclusion
A low percentage of people in India know that Red Wine can be good for health. And those who
know the fact drink it beyond limit just because they think it is good for health. However, they
forget the fact that anything consumed beyond a limit leads to problem. Enjoy the health
benefits of Red Wine by having it in moderation. After all it is entirely on the people to make Red
Wine turn a boon or convert it into a curse of their life.

NOW IS THE TIME TO CHANGE THE JUVENILE AGE: AGREE OR DISAGREE

Juvenile, previously, whenever this word used to come everyone used to think about an
immature child or a young kid. Unfortunately, the definition is getting a new meaning in the

present time. The word juvenile is seen linking more with the rape cases. And seeing the
percentage of juveniles involved in such instances, it is becoming imperative to make changes
in the Juvenile act. Maneka Gandhi has proposed to change the juvenile age from 18 years to
16 years. At one side, the National Commission for Women is supporting the proposal and on
the other hand, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights is against the proposal.
So, what do you think? Is Maneka Gandhi right at her stand? Is it the time to make changes in
Juvenile Act?
Yes
Decision should be taken on basis of figures which clearly tells that in 45% of rape cases
juveniles above age 16 are involved.
Juveniles at the age of 16 understand physical intercourse, and are also aware of the benefits
that they can avail under the juvenile act if they are caught.
In the present world, even the mortality rate is declining, and people tend to get mature much
before as compared to the old times. So, it is the high time to move with the time.
The benefit of juvenile law is spreading in the world, and now even the Lashkar-e-Taiba group
has asked his team to declare their age under 18 if they are caught with weapons.
There was a rise of 60% in juvenile rape cases in 2013 as compared to the cases recorded in
the year 2012.
The juveniles are getting immense courage under the law to go ahead and commit the same
crime again. Even if the age cant be changed, take some tough measures to stop this brutality.
No
Juveniles as the term itself means immature young people who always deserve a second chance
to walk on right path.
The court is here in the country to offer justice. It is not a tool to be used for the retribution
purposes.
In India the legal age of marriage for a girl is 18 years and for boys is 21 years. So, if the
government wants to amend the juvenile law, please they should consider the legal marriage
age too.
The minimum voting age in India is 18 years, and if juveniles get the knowledge of right and
wrong at age of 16, the voting age should also be changed.
Juveniles are influenced by the external factors that take the decisions on impulse and regret
later. The need is to change their mind set, and allow them to become a better person.
Conclusion
It is the time to think practically, and not emotionally. It is the high time to take some stringent
actions and make some changes. There is no doubt that the percentage of juvenile rape cases

are increasing day by day. And the only reason is the juvenile law which favors such people.
With the changed time where kids are becoming mature before time, it is required to change the
age from 18 years to 16 years. If government cannot do that, then at least it has to make some
changes in the form of punishments given to the rapists. Calling them juvenile is the insult of
word juvenile.

US war on Iraq-justified or not?

For
- US war on Iraq was based on the reason of "Weapons of Mass Destruction", which led them to
kill Saddam Hussain and his sons who shattered humanity.
- This war took lives of the cruelest terrorist Saddam Hussain and his sons and seized power
from the dictator which was a great achievement.
- It was a war against terrorism so it was justified.
- It gave freedom to the people of Iraq from the suffering which they were bearing for a long
time.
Against
- The war was not the solution to the problem as the situation could have been handled with
little resistance.
- Many innocent civilians were killed without having any mistake during the war which was not
acceptable.
- It was the internal issue of Iraq and US should not have intervened in their matter like this. If a
country like US will intervene in any other countrys issues then the whole world will become a
mess. Tomorrow some other country can take over any country in the name of terrorism.
- No country has the right to interfere in any other countrys internal matters without having a
general consent.
- The after effect of war cannot be justified as it made civilians of Iraq home less and distorted
the peace and harmony in their country.
- The main task of American army was to restore peace and rebuild the nation with a
constructive government in order to bring stability in the lives of people of Iraq. But due to the
delay in their return from Iraq, the situation worsened.
- The condition of general public during the war was more pathetic as they had no security and
basic amenities.
The outbreak of the war did help US to get Saddam by neck but it caused severe damage and
chaos in Iraq, whose victims were none other than the innocent people. US became slayers
rather than the savers. There actions were certainly not justified as life of many cannot be
endangered because of one.

India's huge population - bane or boon?

Indias population is going to provide us with better options in the coming future but will India
withstand the necessities of the ever growing population or will it perish in this process?
For
- Indias population is a boon as it would result in high income which would in turn result in
higher savings, clear indicators of economical growth.
- Our population offers us an absolute force of cheap manpower which is a very useful tool for
India.
- People turning up of government services have increased significantly which is a very good
sign for a country like ours as it would mean more social force.
- Our growing population has resulted in an increase of different options in various fields
guaranteeing more jobs.
- India has become a nation of various talents. Larger population means a deeper pool of
domestic intelligence which can be used to good effect.
- Larger skilled population means a natural inclination of foreign companies to offer us newer
projects and yes we can do them more cost effectively.
- Larger population can be a big asset in labour based manufacturing units which can make us a
big exporter of hand made goods - every hand can become an earning hand for the country.
Against
- It creates unemployment as the population keeps on increasing the job opportunities keeps on
diminishing.
- Indias infrastructure wont be able to withstand the burden of our ever growing population.
- Literacy rates are not in direct relation with the increase in population and this is resulting in
people piling up below the poverty line.
- There is a major dip in the standard of living as well as in health departments as India has a
very poorly administered population policy.
- The existing grain is getting used up at the rate of knots and the rate at which the population is
growing it will be impossible to supply food and water to this increasing population.
- Awareness programs about the disadvantages of overpopulation have failed to make an
impact on the societies as they are very few in number are restricted to few areas only.
- Huge unfed population can lead to criminalization of the society.
Our countrys ever growing population is a bane more than a boon as it can devastate our
nation and can cause imbalance in the world. It could lead to instability of world economics and
world peace as the population of India is second highest in the world. Its time that an effort is
being made to create awareness among the people, which might put a halt on the mounting
population.

The pros and cons of having a credit card

Pros

in cash.

Many a times people in excitement tend to misuse the card. This leads to huge credit
card bills.
The finance charges and late fee charges of credit card is high.
If misused, they can spoil credit history of an individual.
For youngsters especially, credit card is the last thing to posses.
They can be a little dangerous to use online unless there is SSL (secured layer).

Should Surrogate advertising be allowed?
Surrogate means replacement. Surrogate advertising is adopted by companies whose products
were banned and now surrogate or substitute the brand name with another product. Their
intention is to make sure the customers of the banned product dont forget it. This process is
also termed as brand extension.
Examples

Smirnoff cassettes and CDs

Kingfisher mineral water

Here, the company can not just promote new products (CDs , mineral water), but at the same
time also attach the original brand.
Surrogate advertising should not be allowed. Tobacco and liquor banners make use of this
phenomenon extensively and try to lure the public. The whole point of banning the product was
not the banner but the harm it causes to public and viewers. Hence placing it under the same
banner for a different product makes no sense.
The banners should concentrate more on the consequences of the products (like tobacco etc)
rather than promoting them for a different product.

Most of the surrogate advertisements are even supported because of the revenue it brings to
the different levels of hierarchy in the country.
Even though surrogate advertisements should be banned, there many other sources and
mediums using which the public is lured. Most of the television serials are an example of this.
If the surrogate advertisements are used for liquor and cigarettes, they should ensure that the
public is also aware of the consequences if they are consumed. If a person has a strong will
power, there is nothing that can compel him to do something wrong.

Mobile phones - requirement of the day.

For
- The invention of mobile phones has made life easier. Now we can connect with people in few
seconds who are living in other parts of world.
- Mobile phones have proved to be a boon for the success of every business as information
passes very quickly through this medium.
- We can get in touch with our relatives, friends and closed ones whenever we want without
waiting for many days which were used to be the situation in the ancient times.
- Everyone is available to each other 24*7.
- All types of information related to any area are available in few minutes.
- Parents feel less stressed as they are connected to their all the time.
Against
- Mobile phones are instrument of health hazard as the electro magnate waves which are
transmitted through it cause harm to the body.
- Due to the unlimited connectivity mobile phones has made life miserable for the people who
are over using it.
- We dont have time for ourselves as all the time we are busy over due to one reason or the
other reason.
- Today many accidents are caused due to use of mobile phones while driving.
- It is deterring the office atmosphere as most of the people are spending their time over phone
instead of working.
- Mobile phones have ruined the social life of people as they communicate with their friends and
relatives over phone instead of meeting them personally.
- The radiation generated by the towers of mobile phones has disturbed the balance of the
environment. More and more birds everyday die everyday due to the effect of this radiation.
- Children having an access to mobile spend more time in talking with friends rather than on
studies and with their family.

Mobile phone has its own advantages and disadvantages. With the help of it we can get
connected to any part of the world. On the other hand it has many health hazards attached to it.
Somewhere our life has become dependant on it. We have become its slave. Hence, it can be
concluded that it is a great invention but its usage should be controlled.

Global warming is the increase in temperature of the earths surface

and oceans.
Causes

Different gasses emitted from power plants, cars, air planes. Gasses like Carbon
dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide are the main culprits.
Pollution the polluted gasses emitted from the vehicles are the biggest cause of global
warming.
Population Most of the populating countries will demand more vehicles, more demand
for agriculture. This results in more methane because there will be more burning of fossil
fuels.

Effects

To start with, plants and animals will be affected the most. This is because high
temperatures will melt ice in Greenland and Antarctica increasing the rise of sea level.
High temperatures will make agriculture next to impossible. Only areas that will be left
little cold can withstand the agriculture.
The rise in sea level will pollute the salt water, empty reservoirs and results in water
scarcity.
Global warming will result in more heart related ailments.
In the worst scenario, the environment will be destructed leading to floods, drought etc.

Solution / prevention

To ensure the vehicles are not emitting polluted gases.

To plant more trees.
To make extensive use of renewable energy.

Satellite channels are creating cultural erosion

Satellite channels can be any medium that helps to pass information to public. TV channels,
mobile phones etc can be one of them.

For

Most of the television channels and their extreme drama can cause domestic issues in
families.
The younger generation seems to be the most effected because of violence shown.
Most of the tele serials are based on extra marital affairs which makes most of us watch
them with family.
The advertisements shown, most of the times make no sense. Models with skimpy
clothes cannot sell a product.
A number of reality shows become obscene and disrupt minds of many users.

Against

Satellite channels can indeed be the most reliable source of information.

It gives an update on all activities happening around the world, be it terrorism, war, crime
etc.
People become aware of thousands of things related to diseases, myths etc.
Most channels help children gain knowledge. E.g. National geographic
More channels will introduce more job opportunities in fields of journalism etc.
It brings up social issues through news and reality shows.

With the advancement of technology, it does not make sense to ban satellite channels. Indian
culture is pretty strong and can easily withstand erosion

Capital punishment should be banned

Capital punishment is killing the person legally for capital crimes.
For

The biggest flaw of capital punishment is motivation! Criminals and terrorists get more
rebellious.
Such punishments may not stop crimes from happening because no one is born
criminal.
We as humans should have no rights to kill someone this way.
Capital punishment has been there for ages in many countries. Yet the rate of crime is
seemingly increasing.
Capital punishment cannot avoid crimes. People need to be educated and explained the
consequences rather than killing them.
It can be extremely devastating for the families. It may lead to even worst situations.

Against

Capital crimes should not be banned as it created a sense of fear amongst people.
Criminals and terrorists if caught and subjected to capital punishment, other may
hesitate to commit such an offence again.

There are so many criminals who escape from the jails and commit even worst crimes.
Capital punishment can avoid this.
Most of the criminals who commit this are resistant to small punishments.

An offence certainly cannot be forgiven. We as humans can decide what an offence is or not.
But we have no rights to kill anyone even though it may be legal. Terrorism can be sorted with
peace.

Beauty contests degrade womanhood

A beauty contest is a platform where women all over the globe compete for a pageant. Well
renowned beauty pageants are Miss World, Miss Universe etc.
For

Beauty pageants give women a platform to showcase their talent.

It helps them realize their inner self and confidence.
It helps them realize that they are no less and gives them new opportunities.
Many leading actresses have won beauty pageants.
An ordinary girl gets a celebrity status.
Its not just about winning the pageant. A girl learns to become more responsible
because she has to also do a lot of social work.

Against

Most of the beauty pageants are considered to be vulgar and harm to youngsters.
The swim wear of the show is considered to be a little offensive.
Many women give up their religious and cultural sentiments to win the pageant!
Many young girls leave their education for such pageants.

At the end of the day its an individuals perspective. Some say that beauty pageants bring in a
lot of opportunities for women while some believe it may be offensive. It is undoubtedly a
platform for young girls to achieve a lot in life .

Need of censorship on social media - Group Discussion

For
- Certain pages can be seditious, defamatory to the institution of religion which is not accepted
in the plural society.
- It wont be good for the harmony of the country.
- Some of the social media which is put up on the internet is offensive either to people or to a
nation, and thus, requires censoring.
- Various sites play host to materials which could bring about a rift in the society.
- It can be used for mass effects like, mass violence or creating mass chaos.
Against
- There is a very thin line between censorship and obstruction of freedom of speech and
expression.
- Laws and rules which are brought in the system should be followed which would not require
the need for censorship.
- India is a democratic country and if they censor these social networks then they can hardly
preach to dictators.
- There are many important services like rescue service, which rely on the social sites for real
time information, not providing it may cost many lives.
- Social media should not be treated differently from the other forms of media like book or
press. If they are not being censored then there is no need for censorship on social media.

Sex Education

Sex education is the process of educating people about relationships, intimacy. It helps
people protect themselves against abuse, exploitation, abortions etc.

It mainly focuses on

Relationships
Unwanted pregnancies
Reproduction

Why sex education?

People are educated about different STDs, AIDS etc.

Lack of sex education results in unnecessary abortions.
People are not aware of contraceptive pills, condoms and other means to avoid
pregnancy. This also results in harm to reproductive organs.
Sex education is not just about teaching about sex. Its about teaching how reproductive
organs are built, stages that a boy and girl go through, relationships etc.

When and who should educate?

For some people, sex education is still not necessary as it hurts their religious
sentiments.

Ideally sex education should start from onset of puberty.

Sex education should not just be in schools. It should start from home as well. Parents
should not feel conscience about discussing queries raised.
Special care should be taken that the education and teaching should not sound vulgar.

People should get rid of the stigma attached to the word sex. Sex education will definitely
reduce criminal acts like rape, sexual abuse etc as people will be literate enough to realize the
consequences.

The medium of teaching in schools should be English.

English is the language of computers, conversation, and business and most importantly, the
language, the world speaks. The bottom line is that teaching English to kids is vital for their
future and their growth and for that we need to start now.
For- If it is not, the students will find it hard to move around and settle in other states and
countries.
- It enhances the chances of success globally by adding value to ones personality.
- English being a universal language is spoken in every city and part of the world.
- It drives business across the world. It is a language of processing and understanding.
- It is a great asset when competing for business from other countries.
- Lack of fluency in English can be a huge hindrance in the future.
- Ability to Indians to communicate fluently in English is one of the major reasons of IT being
such a successful industry in India.
Against- Language is a direct connection to culture, making English the medium of education would
deteriorate this culture.
- Learning in your mother tongue is the easiest way of understanding and expressing.
- Freedom of speech doesnt allow English to become the official teaching language in schools.
- Language should not be barrier in ones progress.
- Learning multiple languages not only maintains diversity but also forms a sense of respect for
the language spoken.

There can be innumerable reasons for English to become the medium of teaching in schools.
English being beneficial increases ones chances of success as there are more opportunities.
But importance of the mother tongue cant be denied; rather conscious effort must be made to
ensure that it is not marginalized.

Patience is a bitter plant but bears sweet fruits - Group Discussion

This famous German proverb reflects that in order to see positive results, we must learn to be
patient. Rarely do we see anyone with patience. Everybody expects spontaneity. We usually
associate patience with wait. This is why most of us perceive patience to be bitter.
For:
-Patience makes us stronger and helps us to endure perils.
- Patience reflects wait. In this process, we tend to learn and experience a lot. For e.g. an
MBBS student at some time loses patience because of tremendous pressure. But, in this
process, he learns a lot.
-When we eventually taste the fruit or feel the success, we naturally tend to feel content.
-We all have heard that Patience is a virtue. It helps us sustain optimism.
-Being patient avoids us being impulsive and yield incorrect decisions.
-Being patient but in action lets you work as per the demand of the situation & you can expect
desired results.
-Entrepreneurship requires a lot of patience but needless to say, once the business takes off,
sky is the limit for growth.
Against:
-With new challenges we face daily, we barely have the time to be patient. Everyone expects
spontaneity from us.
-At times, patience leads to boredom. It prohibits us from moving ahead.
-With competition pressure we encounter in our lives, we always have to be ahead in the
race. Being patient is often being perceived as being slow.
-Nothing comes with a guarantee. Being patient always may not lead to positive results. E.g.
Divorcees.

While we all strive to be better and successful each passing day, we should understand a
situation before taking a decision. Being impulsive always may lead to misunderstandings,
disrupt existing strategies etc. This is where we need the power of vision. If we can envision
the road path, being patient might help.

Indian villages - our strength or our weakness?

Most of Indias population is living in villages. Villages are the
backbone of our nation.
For
- Indian Villages where actual India lives is our greatest strength.
- We all who are living in metropolitan cities are dependent on them for our living.
- India is an agricultural country and 70% of the population who are engaged in this profession
are living in villages.
- Many of us who are now living in metropolitan cities are originally coming from villages.
- All the well known names like Ratan Tata, Lakshmi Mittal, Dhiru Bhai Ambani etc who have
made a mark in the world have also come from the Indian villages.
- There are many talented and bright minds in Indian villages who have the capability to
change the face of India.
- Villages are backbone of India without them India might have to face food shortage. All other
industries are also dependent on villages for their raw materials
- The production units of any big company are found at some small places owing to the low
cost of infrastructure and abundance of labour.
Against
- The level of education in Indian villages is very low.
- There are less number of job opportunities in villages.
- As the whole word is technologically advanced but Indian villages are still lacking in this
area.
Our Indian villages can be our greatest strength if the rural markets and the kind of talent
available there are capitalized in a proper way. Government should take steps in order to
improve the condition of Indian villages because the development in Indian villages will
change the face of India.

English should be made the Official Language

The first question that may arise in anyones mind whose mother tongue is not English Why
should it be the official language? The most certain reason would be its acceptance and use.
English is the most common language used throughout the world. The other more convincing
points could be:For

The WWW has 80% of its content in English.

Almost all countries in this world are aware of the language.
English is being followed for years. It is used as the most common medium of
communication.
In this era of globalization, we need to follow what most of the world does. English,
being the most common and widely used language is one of them.
Competition is what drives the world and economy. In order to survive and be
defensive, English is a must.
Money drives the economy, to grow as an individual English is a must.

Against

Due to severe competition, youngsters tend to concentrate more on English and forget
their national language.
It is indeed shameful to not be aware of your own mother tongue fluently and know
English well.
All of us aware of freedom of speech and hence making any language official defy this.
Having multiple languages helps to maintain diversity, respect and know about
different communities.
People cant be forced to do anything today. At home, they will anyways speak the
language they are most comfortable.

There can be innumerable reasons for making English as the official language. Whats more?
This is being in communicated in English as well! Last but not the least, even though English
may be declared as the official language, the essence of the mother tongue should never be
forgotten.

Divorce and remarriage should be encouraged

We all have the rights to live our life the way we want. This should be done to avoid hurting the
sentiments of people around us. Mistakes are made by humans and marriage can be of them.
For

Divorces in marriages are very common today. Divorce can occur due to many reasons
like incompatibility of partners, insecurity, violence etc.

Post a divorce, an individual has the right to live his/her life by marrying someone else
again.
A marriage can be seldom forced on an individual. This may lead to an unsuccessful
marriage.
A divorce could be traumatic for the individual. A new ray of hope could be a remarriage.
Marriage is socially acceptable in Indian society. For any individual, especially women,
living alone can be socially traumatizing.

Against
Once bitten twice shy. Divorce and remarriage should not be encouraged.

Marriage is supposed to be a life long commitment with one person.

Because the couple looses the ability to understand each other, a divorce occurs. Its
least likely the couple adjust with someone else.
Divorce and Remarriage pass negative vibes to children that may hamper their mental
stability.
It creates a negative impression on family and relatives.
After remarriage, it takes time to adjust and expectations are raised.

In most cases, a divorce and remarriage should be avoided. The couple needs to understand
that more than anything else, the children needs them the most.

Reservation for women would help the society

Most of the offences and injustice today are on women. The victims are not just adults but also
infants and old women.
For

There is no valid point till date which makes any women unequal in comparison to a
man.
Giving reservation to women would give them encouragement. They would not be
recognized in society as mere domestic workers.
Reservation should not be given to treat them superior; it should be given to help people
understand that they are equal. This is because, few communities in India still believe in
female foeticide. Little do they know that its a woman that delivers a man!

Against

If women need to do something for the society and country, there is no need for
reservation.
Instead of concentrating on reservation, the society can be improved by concentrating
on other ethical issues.
There have been many great and famous women in politics that did what they could for
society. They didnt any special reservation!
Women may undoubtedly take advantage of reservation to defend themselves.

Although reservations should be encouraged and Like they say Great powers come with great
responsibility, it should become a moral responsibility of women to not misuse the same.

Movies are harming our society

For
Gone the times when parents and elders were ready to watch the movie with their children! With
the more western perspective, it is becoming seamlessly difficult for our culture to accept Hindi
movies.

Keeping aside the action and drama, the vulgarity depicted knows no bounds.
India has always been known for its culture. However its rare to find movies based on
any culture.
Thanks to the media and the hype created of the celebrities personal lives, youngsters
get influenced in the wrong way.
The movies that depict extreme violence, murder cause mental harm to children.
Teenagers become easy fashion victim of the skimpy dresses worn.
Most of the movies show extreme drama which may hurt sentiments of people.
The comedy movies, most of the times over do the humor by making a mockery of
reality.

Even though a majority of the movies are extremely entertaining, focus should be on culture,
religion etc without hurting the sentiments of any community.
Against
Hindi movies can possibly be the best medium of entertainment. If made well, they can be easily
used to educate the society on several issues.

India being one of the largest movie producing country and due its wide acceptance,
Hindi movies can be easily used to portray Indias art and culture.
Most of the countrys population watches Hindi movies; hence it generates revenues
rather than harming the society.
They can be an excellent source of refreshment for stress.
Even though the actors wear skimpy clothes, however, not in reality. The movies should
not always be taken seriously. It is not necessary that each Hindi movie needs to pass
some message to society.
Violence has existed for years now. Hence blaming the Hindi movies for depicting and
encouraging violence is not fair.
As a matter of fact, the movies depict that good always wins over evil.

Inflation
In simple terms inflation is the rise in price of commodities and low purchases.
Causes and effects

Inflation is caused when there is too much demand is more for goods or too much
money in circulation.
Inflation affects the entire economy of the nation.
A drop in exchange rate, increase in tax or wages can lead to inflation.
An increase in the quantity of money supply can cause inflation.

Controlling inflation

Depending on what caused inflation, policies should be implemented. For instance if the
cause was excessive demand for commodities, it should be reduced.
Production costs can be reduced.
Banks can increase interest rates to avoid circulation of money in excess.
Trying to maintain a stable and fixed currency rate.
The supply of gold to the amount sold or output should be stable.
The percentage of inflation can be measured using the consumer price index. It is a
measure for price change based on production of goods

Impact of Globalization
Globalization can be broadly defined as social, political and economic changes that we all adapt
do. The strong currency rates, constructions, trading etc are all consequences of globalization.
Positive Impact

A better economy it introduces rapid development of the capital market

Introducing new technologies- the new technologies and progress in telecommunication,
introduction of satellites, mobiles etc are all results of globalization.
The new scientific research patterns are all results of globalization.
Living standards are risen.
Globalization introduces better trade. This is because more people are employed. This
increases productivity.
Apart from economical aspect, globalization has also brought an impact on political and
cultural domain.
Culturally speaking, globalization has brought in different ideologies, and thought
process amongst people.
Politically speaking, onset of western democratic system has an impact on politics.

Negative Impact

Along with positive impact, there is negative too. Globalization brings fear as well.
Because of too much flow of capital amongst countries, it introduces unfair and immoral
distribution of income.
Another fear is loosing national integrity. Because of too much exchange of trade,
money etc independent domestic policies are lost.
Mental pressure on companies that causes many people to loose their jobs.

Role of UN in peacekeeping
United Nations has an organization called UN Security Council that is responsible for
peacekeeping. Five members of this team are permanent members while ten are chosen every
2 years. Peacemaking was introduces at the end of cold war and has undergone immense
changes. It keeps evolving to meet the political demands as well.
Whenever a problem arises, the UN tries to resolve it peacefully. in order to accomplish this, UN
can:

Call for more people and resources.

Reinforce their decisions.
Orders for sanctions which may include an arms embargo, trade and finance restrictions.
The main motive to have peacekeeping is help countries torn by conflict.
Peacemakers were never allowed to fight. They were supposed to enact in case of
ceasefire.
In order to have peacekeeping, the council had a common pattern. This included drafting
guidelines for a specific operation but exercised little actual direction over the operation.

Even though UN may be trying its best for peacekeeping, individual citizens are the most
important key element peacekeeping.
Peace can be brought everywhere as long as we want it to stay.

BPOs in INDIA
Business Process Outsourcing is one the most booming industries in India. When a company
contracts another company of some roles and responsibilities of a certain business function, it
is termed as outsourcing. The responsibilities can either be back office like HR and Finance or
front office like customer relations.
India has numerous BPOs. Most countries prefer to outsource in India because of cheap labor.
Advantages of BPOs

Have increased tremendous job opportunities.

Youngsters, house wives are the most common of the lot. College going students get
more than their pocket money.

Obviously, gets revenue to the country.

Disadvantages of BPOs

Most BPOs have processes outsourced from countries like US and UK. The difference
in time zones is a major hurdle.
This difference leaves the employees with no choice but to work in the night.
Introduces health disorders.
Domestic issues are introduced especially if one partner works in the day.
Since the employees work in the night, it becomes unsafe for women. Most of the rape
cases read in recent past were employees of BPO are where the women are alone in
the CAB.

BPOs in India are definitely booming and introducing more and more job opportunities. It helps
people to become independent at a very young age.
The major concern of BPOs in India is the risk. Risk is both to the owner who has invested the
money and the employees who have no job security

How to deal with terrorism

Terrorism has been here for years. And all that we do is Talk! Whenever there is a terror
attack, the government takes precautionary measures for few months.
The ideal way to deal with terrorism is education. Illiteracy has brought a lot of issues anyway.

Terrorism is one amongst them. People need to know the harm terrorism causes. One of
the reasons behind terrorism is religion.
People blindly believe in religion without having the need to know its preachings.
The hype created is another issue. The media creates so much of hype of the security
measures that the terrorists become cautious.
Terrorism needs to be dealt peacefully. Becoming nervous is not going to help.
Government needs to be diligent and be able to anticipate any attacks.
Few people create havoc by giving hoax calls. This should not be done.
All countries must cooperate with each other in order to deal with terrorism.
Utmost security measures should be taken in public places like hospitals, airports,
railways station etc. this should be irrespective of the size and popularity of the public
place.
The victims of the family must be supported not just in monetary terms, But also
emotionally. Money cannot replace the lost one. However a moral support and a security
can.
All countries need to be a little more organized in terms of politics, traffic and other
communal issues.

If a terrorist attack occurs, people should not panic. They must help the victims in order to deal
with it.

Food Bill - Is it really something India needs?

Food Bill is another roll of a dice played down by Congress to win support for various states.
Food bill is something that needs but it cant be neglected that it might result in the deterioration
of the fiscal situation. Should we take it as just another additional increase in expenditure or is it
a cause for major concern?
For
- It seeks to provide subsidized food to 62.5% of the countrys population.
- This would make way for nutritional and healthy food which would in return increase the
productivity of the people.
- This would make sure that the food is distributed to the needy and correct person which in
return would help in forming a welfare state.
- It is a strong step towards removing the poverty from India as passing this bill would somewhat
guarantee the food security of the poor people.

Against
- People getting access to concessional food are sure to make some wastage.
- The unique identification number is yet to reach every nook and corner of the country.
- The storage of the entire food supplement is of major concern.
- Agro markets will be distorted as the population that needs to be fed is enormous and
financing this incremental burden (Indias population) will be next to impossible.
- Food bill is going to place India in a very appalling debt position in the coming future as India
would not be able to cope up with the ever growing population.
- Making the grains available at different prices for different sections of the society is not a very
good idea.
- It will make the lazy further lazy as they will get easy food by working little.
Food bill is a necessity but it will be absurd entity by itself!! Indian economy will be burdened
with the excessive physical handling of the grain not to mention the financial sum of these
grains. Conditional cash transfers are a better tool in this scenario as they allow the poor people
to choose the products they want to buy. We should make use of the funds accurately and in an
engineered manner so that at the end we dont find ourselves in a position from where it is hard
to recover.

Permanent colony on moon is the future.

For

- Water which is found to be most essential part of the planet earth is found to be present on
moon- a recent study showed.
- Because of moons proximity to the earth, it is seen as a prime location for permanent
colonization of humans, by humans.
- Due to advancement in technology it has become possible to visit moon from time to time. It
has also been found that it is filled with abundant material and rocks which can be used for
colonization.
- It is also seen that the energy required to move materials from earth to moon is lower than the
other bodies.
- Most of the resources are getting over and in thick of things the humans have to shift its base
to another more suitable environment for their survival. So, colonization on the moon is
definitely on the cards.
Against
- The low gravity on moon could prove to be detrimental in humans health.
- Colonization on moon will be way too expensive and way to difficult.
- Moon lacks a substantial environment i.e. its environment is different from that of earth in
many aspects and it will be really complicated for man to make suitable conditions, to survive
on moon.
- The lack of atmosphere also increases the chances of moon to be hit by meteorite. Its also
faces many difficult challenges in the process of growing crops.

Permanent colony on moon is the future.

INTRODUCTION:

- The colonization of the moon is the proposal establishment of permanent human communities
on the moon. Permanent human habitation on a planetary body other than Earth is one of the
science fiction shown in movies. As advancement in human technology, its been easy for
human beings to go on moon from time to time.
- Recent study showed that water is found on the moon, so the argument that space
colonization is achievable, gained momentum. As moon is in our nearest vicinity, it is seen as

the most obvious place where humans can make their settlement in near future.
- There are two reasons which might attract human beings towards lunar. First of all, its the
water that is found on moon and additionally, the moons axis of rotation is sufficiently close to
being perpendicular to the ecliptic plane that the radius of the moons polar circles is less than
60km.
For:

- On our planet Earth, most of the resources are getting depleted, due to many reasons such
as tremendous increase in population, increase in industrialization, etc, which can make human
beings to shift their location on the moon. As human beings think that moon is the safest place
in universe for their survival in near future.
- Due to low gravity on moon, it could be easy for us to lift things easily and the energy required
to do it will be very less. We can transmit things easily on moon.
- Water found on moon, is the best part, which made scientists to think about colonization on
moon.
Against:

- The lack of substantial atmosphere for insulation results in temperature extremes and makes
the moon surface conditions somewhat like a deep vacuum. The lack of atmosphere increases
the chances of hitting the colony by a meteor.
- Establishing a colony on moon could be very expensive.
- Growing crops on moon would be a challenge for the people who may live in colonies on
moon in near future.
- One of the less obvious difficulties would be about conflicts between nations of getting rights
about colony on lunar.
Conclusion:

- Personally, I think that colonization on Moon is going to be a great challenge for human
beings as they may face many problems from national, political or natural aspects which may
make them to destroy moon. However, we can make new technologies to get adapted to the
atmospheric conditions on moon.

RE: Live-in relationships are against Indian culture

For:
Live in relationships are against Indian culture as such relationships can never be equated
with a relationship as eternal as marriage.

According to Indian marriage act it is illegal for a man and woman to live in relationship
without getting married.
Such relationships are only for financial and social security. In order to get accommodation,
such couples are declaring themselves married couple.
Legal framework needs to be redesigned as right now in India it is not well defined in the
case of live in relationship.
Against:
Live in relationships are not against Indian culture as it is just become a way for people to
save money. People dont have to wander here and there to search for a house. Apart from
these there are many other reasons for people living in together.
Live in relationships are now in fashion among younger generations.
In live in relationships the individual can part ways at any point of time without getting into
hassles of a divorce.
This kind of relationship gives an option to the individual to know each other before
committing for marriage. It helps them to test their compatibility with their partners.
RE: Live-in relationships are against Indian culture

Live in relationship is a kind of relationship in which a man and a woman mutually decide to
live together under one roof without getting married to each other. This is a popular and
common system of the western countries and is now slowly being adopted by the Indians as
well. Live in relationships are legalized in India now and is much in demand by the younger
generations. Though the practice of staying together before marriage is not accepted by the
Indian culture, but due to the various benefits of it, gradually it has to be accepted within the
society. By staying in a live in relationship, the couple gets the opportunity to know each other
in and out. They are aware of each others daily habits, routines and mood swings and can
take a wise decision whether they want to marry each other or not. At the time of any
argument or fight it does not lead to any divorce and this also reduces the chances of family
break ups. Thus, by living in together two people can share the costs between them as well as
stay independently without the tag of being married.
Unfortunately,we are not in 20th or 19th century. No doubt all cultures of the world are slowly
decaying. Live in relationship is nothing but fashionable debauchery..Western world had an
excellent family values ( eg Italy and Israel). With higher education among females
family values are going down. It seems, now muslim society some family values.

Rotation policy in Indian cricket team makes the team better.

For
- Rotation policy allows the team management to decide the best combination of the team which
would fare well in some prestigious tournaments.
- It also gives chances to emerging youngsters to showcase their talent on the big stage.
- It gives the elder and more experienced players their duly deserved rest.
- It is very important to give exposure to certain talented players and that is what rotation policy
makes possible.
- It helps BCCI to map out the future of Indian cricket, and rotating players in different matches
and tournaments gives them the perfect platform to do so.
- It tests the bench strength which should be ready under any circumstances.
- It would also ensure the stars or the more experienced lot to stay fit for major tournaments like,
world cup, by preventing them from exposing themselves to on field injuries.
Against
- It breaks the momentum of the team. For Example, if the team is performing well and is
consistent then it doesnt make sense to break that stability by rotating players.
- Rotation is a good thing but it should not happen at the cost of teams interest.
- The team should not be altered during its winning ways i.e. if a certain individual is at top of his
game then he shouldnt be dropped rather should be given a longer run.
- It is a very big risk to rest players for certain matches and then bring them back cold for some
other matches.

MGNREGA Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005

MGNREGA (Also known as NREGA) is the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment
Guarantee Act.

It is said to be the largest welfare program in the world which is run by Government of India. It
was started in August 25, 2005.
PROS according to me:
This act was enacted to provide a job guarantee to the Rural People in India.
This act guarantees to provide a minimum 100 days of paid employment every year to an
adult member of any family with the minimum wage of approx. 120/day & who would likely do
any unskilled work. (If they didnt do so, then government will bear their salaries at their home).
It has resulted (or expected to result, I would say) in increase in the rural employment,
especially for women.
People in rural areas now dont have to wander everywhere to sustain their livelihood.
As people working under this scheme are getting fixed wages, so they dont have to fear
about that & they work towards development of the country.
CONS:
This act was disparaged by people as it was thought of no effectiveness than other acts
which were running in the system. Every act/effort passed in the favor of people should not be
just enacted & left to float away! It has to be seen that it is carried out successfully all around.
Corruption! It is seen that whatever may be the issue in India, corruption is always the part of
it. People say that they are often not paid, fewer wages are paid, they have to bribe the officer
to get a job, their cards are used by other officers, dead people are also paid, etc I think
corruption is responsible for more than 80% of the failure of this act.
It is also seen that the quality of work done by the unskilled labor is poor as compared to any
skilled labor. People are not taught any new skills so that they can improve their quality of work
& sustain their work for a longer period.
And the important one is that despite of such programs migration from rural areas to urban
area is not reduced.
To conclude, I think that this initiative is a better, almost best way to support the Indian society
but people should change their way of thinking & try to support this development. Corruption
should be barred from it. Mentality should be changed. Just implementing such programs is not
enough but they should be supported with dedication to help people as a social & humanly
cause. It will provide a bridge to India towards becoming a Super Power!

MGNREGA - A key to increase employment in the country.

For
- It is a scheme which provides legal guarantee for jobs or employment to the rural sector of
our country.

- There is an increase in the number of people who are willing to do manual work for a
minimum wage which has resulted in an increase in employment.
- It improves the purchasing power of the rural community, encouraging them to do work.
- Women have also come out and are now consist of more than one-third of the stipulated
force. Further increasing the number of people employed.
- Rural people have shed their fear of coming outside and have started to work towards the
development of the nation as they are getting wages, which is encouraging other unemployed
people to work as well.
Against
- It is criticized as it is thought to be no more effective than the other employment programs that
have been enlisted in the system.
- It has resulted in more corrupt officials which resulted in deficit in the source of funds.
- This is not effective as it has resulted in poor quality of infrastructure and has an unintended
destructive effect on poverty.
- This scheme doesnt teach new skills to the unemployed that is necessary for the
development of the country.
- The conditions that are provided to the rural people are not sufficient to lure them to get
employed.

MGNREGA - A key to increase employment in the country

For:
- MGNREGA, assures job guarantee and the fixed wages to the people working under this
scheme.
- This act guarantees to provide a minimum 100 days of paid employment every year to an
adult member of any family who would likely do any unskilled work with the minimum wage of
approx. 120/day.
- This act of Government has helped population in rural areas as now they dont have to
wander everywhere to find employment to sustain their livelihood.
- Now people dont have to worry to get employment. Now they can focus on the development
of the country instead of focusing on getting employed.

- It has resulted in increase in the rural employment, especially for women.

Against:
- Like other acts running in the country, this act will also not be that effective. As once the act is
passed, then no one takes the responsibility of successful implementation of the same. Thus,
unless the act passed in the favour of people is carried out successfully all around till then
there is no use of such act.
- There are many social programmes in India which are beset with corruption. Former Prime
Minister Rajiv Gandhi once suggested that only 15% of spending on such programmes actually
reached the intended beneficiaries. The Planning Commission of India in 2005 estimated that a
similarly low proportion, 27% of government transfers actually reach the poor. Such
embezzlement adds to the strain on state finances, and may make these programmes more
regressive than progressive.
- Corruption is reponsible for more than 80% of the failure of this act. As very often people are
not paid, if paid then fewer wages are paid. In order to get the job they have to bribe the officer.
Their cards are used by other officers, dead people are also getting paid etc.
- This act will not be beneficial for all the rural population. As per a study, farmers owning large
size of landholdings and more number of livestock are not much interested in participating in
MGNREGA works, as they are busy in their own activities. The farmers who have small land
and livestock resources are more inclined to work in MGNREGA and their participation is also
more.
- Under this act, quality of work done cannot be assured as the quality of work done by the
unskilled labour is poor as compared to any skilled labour. Even people are not taught any new
skills for improving their quality of work and sustain their work for a longer period.
- Despite of such programs migration of population from rural areas to urban area is not
reduced.
- Just implementation of such acts will not increase employment in the country within few year.
For that people should change their way of thinking and try to support this development.

Cricketers are overpaid.

For
- In India, cricket is religion and cricketers are considered as gods and we have a tradition of
treating gods with royalty. Hence, cricketers are overpaid.
- In todays date, cricketers are the highest paid players especially in India, where hockey is
considered to be the national sports.
- Players are being auctioned (during IPL), so there is obviously competition amongst the
franchise to grab the best player by putting in some extra bucks.
Against
- Cricketers are not overpaid but they are paid according to their talent and ability.

- Some cricketers are paid more than others because they deserve every bit of it and it is purely
performance basis.
- If we compare cricket to other sports like tennis, golf, football etc then they earn nothing as
compared to them, so cricketers are not overpaid.
- The cricketers generate tons of revenue for their respective boards which makes it apt for
them to have that extra bit of hike in their income.
- Cricketers play for their respective countries and compete against each other fiercely. Thus,
they are paid in accordance to that. Therefore, they are not overpaid but just paid"

Mixed Martial Arts League should be welcomed in India

For
- It is a very distinct form of martial arts which has a blend of all the arts, thus it should be
welcomed and should be made more popular.
- Mixed martial art is a new trend of martial arts which would also allow people knowing it to
showcase their talent.
- It will promote the lost cultures of various forms of martial arts.
- It will also boost the economy of our country as more and more people would participate in
such events.
- It will bring in more knowledge about this kind of sport to a country like India and it will increase
the understanding of the combat-effective strategies.
- There are various rules implemented to protect the fighters from fatal or any kind of injury.
Against
- This form of martial arts is very dangerous for the people doing it as the rules are kept minimal.
- The overall injury rate caused in MMA is more than other combat sports due to various
techniques used in it.
- It is also more fatal than any other combat sport.

Social networking on Internet is a boon.

The evolution of internet has brought to us social networking as a special innovation. Now the

life has become easier for people as they can get updates of their friends, relatives and closed
ones with a single click on Internet.
For
- Social Networking is an easier way of getting in touch with your relatives, friends, and the rest
of world through internet.
- Humans are social animal and the social networking on internet has given them a new way to
remain connected with everyone irrespective of the time and distance.
- It saves the time as people can easily interact with people any where around the world without
visiting them personally.
- If any body wants to see anybodys details they can directly take it from social networking
sites.
- These networking systems are also helpful from business point of view. As you can make new
contacts on these sites.
- In recent times this means has become popular to advertise your work, product etc. as it gets
circulated very fast on these sites.
Against
- Personal lives are getting affected as they have started sharing their personal things on these
sites.
- On these sites people make friends and spend long hours chatting with them whom they have
never seen or met.
- Young generations are becoming more and more addicted to these sites.
- Somewhere the real social life of people is getting affected very badly as find it more
comfortable and find time to chat with a stranger than finding time to meet friends or relatives.
- Recently there was a case of a social networking site where a girl attempted suicide after
reading a message of her boyfriend. These types are increasing day by day.
- The security issues physical as well as those related to computers are increasing as the
teenagers do not understand the effective usage of social networking.
Social networking on Internet has its advantages as well as disadvantages. It is good means of
sharing if utilized in a proper manner. But if people use it without understanding its benefits and
pitfalls then it might cause problems in their lives.

Facebooking - Time pass actitivity.

For
- It definitely is a time pass activity as it contains lots of fun activities, like games that are used
by people on a regular basis to get out of their boredom.

- Being a social networking site it is just a means of communication where people can make
new friends or connect with long lost friends.
- People become so addictive towards it that they spend most of their time socializing via
facebook.
- People meet new people; make new relationships through this network which increases the
healthy interactions among them.
Against
- Individuals connect through facebook to their co-workers or colleagues which helps them to
remain up to date.
- Facebook is used to advertise products which are relatively new in the market and can be
easily purchased through facebook.
- It is good way to update people about the recent events taking place nearby or in the world.
- Facebook being a quick and effective way of communicating (people separated by time zones)
can not be termed as a time pass activity.
- Facebook teaches a lot of new aspects about different websites.

Brain-Drain has to be stopped

Brain-Drain is loss of some talented resources (like technical and intellectual personnel). This
loss is due to migration of such people due to lack of opportunities, conflicts etc.

Brain Drain can be stopped by recognizing genuine talent rather than donations etc.
There should be more trade and exchange of goods. More job opportunities should be
provided to people.
Employees in India leave the country and opt for studies aboard only because they can
work and study. In India this is not possible.
People here are barely able save. Due to this, the professionals prefer to stay out of the
country for better prospects and save money.
Universities need to offer opportunities not just for studies but also jobs on the campus.
This way students can also work and study. If they can get such provisions in their own
country, Brain-Drain can definitely be stopped.

The other side of the coin can be seen from a positive perspective.

If people go out for future studies, they do come back to their home country. This means
more talent and experience is welcomed.
No matter what we do, brain-drain cannot be stopped because of the mindset of people.
However, if measures are taken, it can be controlled.

US Debt Crisis - really has an impact on world market

For
- If there is a debt crisis in US, it would result in global economic collapse and recession could
turn worse.
- The US economy has been using and borrowing for a long period of time.
- The rest of the world is dependent upon the US consumers as a source of global demand.
- US being the worlds largest economy and dollar being the worlds reserve currency has many
implications on the global economy.
- US debit crisis would result in the loss of the confidence of the investors, which would affect
the global financial markets.
Against
- There are other major economies as well such as euro. Thus, it would not have an impact on
the world market

Abortion and Euthanasia - Is it morally right for society?

Euthanasia is a practice of ending life in order to relieve a person from pain and suffering. Both
abortion and euthanasia are done on the consent of the person who wants to do it.
For
- Euthanasia is for ill patients who are suffering from severe disease causing them tremendous
pain. This relieves them from the unbearable pain.
- People who wish euthanasia choose that option on their own. If the person knows that his/her
disease is incurable then it is better for him to take that decision instead of bearing the pain and
dying a slow death. Whereas in the case of abortion if mother chooses not to have a baby then
that is her personal decision.
- Sometimes people cannot afford the expensive bills of hospitals for the treatment of dreaded
diseases and find it easier way to take euthanasia and end their lives.
The same state applies in the case of abortion if a person knows that she is not financially
sound in that case she chooses to abort her baby.
- If a female is expecting a baby out of wed lock (specially in Indian society) owing to an
abusement, the option of abortion lets her save her coming life.

Against
- God has given us a beautiful life and only he has the power to take it and not any body else.
- Abortion and Euthanasia both are not morally right for the society as these means can be
misused by any person.
- If strict laws are not made then it may be harmful for the human race in the long run.
- Female foetecide - aborting female foetus is disturbing the male-female ratio of the nature
badly.
- Many a times, the relatives of a patient may push him to ask for euthanasia for their personal
motives.
Euthanasia and abortion if used sensibly can save a lot of problems and pain, however, it is a
matter of taking someone's life. If we can't give life to anyone, we obviously do not have any
right to take it.

Should euthanasia be legalized?

Euthanasia can be also called as mercy killing. It is a process of giving an easy and painless
death to someone. There are some people who feel that euthanasia should be legal because
that is the last resort. On the other hand some feel its a crime.
Mercy killing is done when the patient is terminally ill and there are no chances of the person to
live. The person is in pain and stress. Some countries like Netherlands have euthanasia
legalized and at times term it as a dignified form of death.
It should not be legalized because:

Each individual has the right to end their life.

There could be hope of the person to live. Miracles happen as well!
According to many religions, the ultimate decision maker is GOD. And may be God
wants the person to live.

It should be legalized because:

It is a pain free death. It could relief the person.

It saves the person from pain and misery.
The patient has anyways lost all hopes to live. It could a new value to his life.
Its not just about the patient. The relatives and closed ones go through a bad phase as
well. This is because they have to see someone they love someone in so much pain.

We as humans have no rights to kill anyone. As long as the patient gets to speak and says his
last wish, euthanasia should be OK. It can be legalized as long as the laws are strict. The
government needs to lay down situations that should be followed. In a country like India it is a
little difficult because of the diverse religious beliefs of people

Daughters are more caring than sons

Very few Indians at least will agree to this statement. In India, in most of the villages couples still
pray for sons more than daughters.

However, it is a known fact that daughters are more caring than sons. Common
domestic issues in any family are over property. And who wants this property always?
The sons!
Daughters try and keep family under one shelter. They have no greed of money.
When parents are old, daughters become more responsible than sons. This is because
before marriage they care of their own parents and after marriage they take care of their
family. Hence the essence of responsibility never dies in daughters.
Daughters are more understanding and tolerant when compared to sons.
When it comes to traditions and social engagements, daughters follow them more.
In most of the household domestic work, daughters always stand first to help.

Having said above, it doesnt mean that sons are not caring at all. Daughters are considered to
be more caring because of the attachment with parents. Eventually the parents know that she
wont be staying with them for too long. End of the day it all depends on how the child is
nurtured. If there is equality in the house, there can be no possible difference between a son
and daughter.

Dolphins and Whales should get universal rights.

For
- They are also living beings, thus, they also have the right to live which would protect them from
hunters and poachers.
- They are getting extinct and they should be safe guarded by issuing such rights which would
help them to live in their habitats peacefully.
- This law would do away with all the entertainment activities that require participation of these
mammals.
- Humans have lost their conscious and self-awareness and thus it becomes very important to
give dolphins and whales their universal right to live freely.
Against
- They are a constant to human life. So, they should be held under captivity of humans which
would ensure protection of both.
- They are very important in the research field as they reveal many unusual facts that are not
known to humans.
- This would devalue humans who are far more superior to whales or dolphins which are
considered to be primitive in nature.
- It will be unfair to all the other animals are living in the world as this rule will only enforce the
dolphins and whales to live without any interference.

NGOs - Do they serve people's interests or are they pressure groups?

Non Government Organization or NGO is an organization which works for the people to protect
the interest of people. They are the voice of people. The number of NGOs in India is increasing
day by day.
For
- NGO's serve peoples interest positively by utilizing the funds that come either from foreign
countries or native countries for their development without being pressurized by any other
section.
- These organizations have come into the picture to protect the interests of people of the
country.
- They are also the representative of general public to voice against any issue that goes against
their interests.
- NGOs have shown that they are in a better position to handle social issues than the
government.
- They reach out to people in rural areas where it is very inconvenient to reach and understand
their concerns and try to improve their lives with the aid which they get from foreign countries,
companies, government bodies.
- They run various programs which are responsible for sudden and decisive increase in self
employment, level of education, woman empowerment etc.
Against
- The NGOs have a major role to play in politics as they serve peoples opinion.
- As they enjoy lot of support from a large portion of population which make them powerful.
- They are so powerful that they can make or break a business.
- They work hard to solve general public issues and in order to do that they pressurize the
concerned authority.
- Some NGOs are working only to evade taxes and not for the welfare of general public.
NGOs are formed to serve people. They help general public by identifying the issues and
rectifying them by formulating plans and policies and implementing them in a proper way so that
the matters can be resolved.

Women shouldn't be offended if called "sexy".

For
- It is very important to see the manner in which the word sexy is being used, i.e. to what
context.
- It is just another word which is used by men to give compliment to women and there is nothing
wrong in that.
- Women should take it positively and not be provoked by the word sexy.
- It is just an adjective which defines a womens physical beauty.
- When women, especially the modern ones work really hard on their bodies, the word sexy
should act as a confidence booster as this term tells them that their efforts are being paid off.
Against
- Sexy is a sexist comment as it is extremely lascivious when used for a women.
- Constitution is based on egalitarian ideas and certain tags like sexy shouldnt be reserved for
a certain gender, in this case women.
- It is a very derogatory remark to the entire women community as it is very disrespectful and
offensive coming from a man.
- It will result in increase in crime rates and the statistics show that there is a constant raise in
rape and molestation cases.
- Sexy coming from men sounds more sleazy and tacky rather than genuine and nice.

You have to break a few eggs to make an omellette

This prominent proverb means that in order to achieve something, we should necessarily
destroy something. So you cant relish an omellette, until you break the egg. This statement can
be taken positively or negatively based on an individuals perception.
For:
- Destroying doesnt necessarily mean in the true or the literal sense. Athletes that run in a race
often overlook an injury of their competitor in order to win the race.
- In todays challenging and competitive environment, only the survival of the fittest exists. In
order to survive, one needs to break or tear some things.
- At times on destroying existing things, one can invariably devise or build something better.

-With changing environments in terms of inflation and economy, destroying becomes inevitable.
Against:
- It is often believed that a successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the
bricks thrown at him. This way, he need not destroy anything or make any compromises.
- Some people tend to take the word destroy way to literally. This leads them to involve in a lot
of unethical activities.
- When this strategy is adopted by a countrys president, it often leads to hurting the sentiments
of a number of communities and leads to violence.
- If were not sure of our vision, we not just land up not achieving our goals, but also land up
destroying what we have.
- Destruction for the most part, reflects a selfish attitude which cannot last long.
While achieving success is everyones vision and competition is inevitable, we should be careful
that until we are not affirmative of building something better, existing things must not be
destroyed. For some people in order to survive, destroying comes out of no choice.

Habit and routine have an unbelievable power to waste and destroy

We often hear, Once a mistake, twice a habit. No one wants to make mistakes consciously.
When we continue to do certain things regularly, they become a part of our routine. Remember,
habits and routines are mostly driven through our subconscious mind and hence, they have the
power to either surprise us or destroy us.
For:
-Bad habits reflect negativity and eventually lead to a bad attitude, low confidence.
-Certain habits like smoking, excessive use of tobacco etc. are nothing but bad habits that has
the power to destroy us.
-Misuse of money, spending too much on trivial things becomes a habit and certainly results in
wastage.
-Certain things become a routine for us to get our work done in an easy way- this often leads us
to bribe people.

-Some habits make us judgmental and thus, we lose our ability to think out of the box.
Against:
-Good habits can influence people in a positive way.
-Routine like waking up early can be considered as a good habit and doesnt really lead to any
destruction.
-Some people cant start their day without meditation or any form of physical exercise. This is a
good habit that leads to peace of mind.
-Some habits lead to optimism and help us to cross any hurdles that may come our way.
Conclusion:
So good or bad- lies in the eyes of the beholder. All we need to do is a little retrospection to
analyze and figure out if our habits that become our routine are leading to positivity within us or
not.

Should Online Gambling Be Banned?

Gambling is always associated with the risk of losing money. However, there is a steep
difference between online gambling and offline gambling. The lawmakers do not allow for offline
gambling whereas there is no problem in online gambling. Why is there a difference of
legalization status on basis of platforms? Does gambling online convert it into something else?
Let us discuss on the topic: Should Online Gambling Be Banned?
Yes
Whether it is online gambling or offline gambling, it cannot be justified. It is associated with
losing money in all the cases.
Online gambling comes with the risk of losing money which further results in health and mental
problems including stress disorders, insomnia and depression.
The availability of internet has made online gambling accessible to all whether the person is a
minor or an adult.
A major part of internet users are the young generation who constantly want to figure out easy
ways of making money. It makes them addictive and destroys their career.
Online gambling is one of the means through which the international criminals involved in

drugs, forced prostitution and human trafficking convert their black money into white.
Online gambling is also seen in sports in international market. It leads to corruption in sports
and other games.
No
Gambling whether it is online or offline is a personal choice of people. They should have every
right to decide what they want to do with their money.
There is no planned way through which governments can put a ban on the online gambling.
They can frame online laws but cannot stop citizens to gamble in the places where it is
legalized.
If the online gambling websites are regulated well, the online gambling should not be
prohibited. After all, it is becoming a million dollar industry.
It is worth mentioning that there is no ban on stock market trading which eventually is a form of
speculation for most of the people.
Instead of banning online gambling, government should find out measures which can allow it
to benefit from online gambling industry. The gamblers are anyway going to put in their money.
Conclusion
Gambling in any form is risking hard-earned money. It is not wise to legalize online gambling. It
is becoming a lucrative business but that doesnt justify legalization of online gambling. The
government for its personal benefit cannot put the careers and lives of the citizens and their
families on stake. It is true that gamblers will put their money somewhere, but it is also true, in
the event of ban, the people involved in gambling will reduce sharply.

Should Medical Marijuana Be Legalized In India?

There are some states in the U.S. where the fight for medical marijuana is getting intense before
the upcoming legislative sessions. Following the debate in the U.S., it seems as a right time
when India should also consider the matter of decriminalization of medical marijuana. Marijuana
is used widely in India. However, it is a different matter that it is done illegally for recreational
purposes. The plant is said to have amazing medical benefits. So, do you advocate use of
medical marijuana? Should Medical Marijuana Be Legalized In India?

Yes
There are as many as 23 states in the U.S. where the medical marijuana is legalized to treat
the patients with debilitating conditions.
Medical marijuana is given after due prescription to treat people with severe diseases. When
there is regulation, there should be no problem.
When the nation allows the open sale for alcohol and cigarettes that kill thousands of people
every year, why should medical marijuana be banned?
There are several Opioid analgesics prescribed to patients who suffer from moderate to severe
pain. Now, it is the high time to compare and consider the benefits of medical marijuana over
other Opioid analgesics.
There is a huge network of illicit marijuana business in India. Instead of banning medical
marijuana government should try and control illicit business of recreational marijuana.
Opening up of medical marijuana will work as an additional source of tax revenue for the
government.
No
Legalization of medical marijuana will pave way for drug trafficking of marijuana across the
nation.
India is known for high rate of corruption in all the sectors including politics, medical, business
and many others. Legalizing of medical marijuana will benefit only corrupt officials.
Marijuana might have medicinal properties but the very fact is that it is a drug that can lead to
disorders in brain.
As of now, there seems no dire need to legalize medical marijuana, as medical world has other
options to treat the severe diseases.
Legalization of medical marijuana can just be the start and may result in a campaign to support
recreational marijuana. The young generation can get a negative message on drug abuse.
Conclusion
Marijuana is medically beneficial, it is the result of the several studies and researches
conducted in the past. Also, the modern studies sponsored by U.S. states prove that marijuana
can reduce nausea and pain in severe conditions including glaucoma and chemotherapy. There
are some regulation risks associated with medical marijuana but that doesnt mean medical
marijuana should not be approved in India.

Is Obesity A Disability?

There are many participants who have always argued that obesity is a disease. However, this
debate goes one step ahead and discusses whether obesity is a disability? The highest court in
Europe has ruled that obesity can constitute a disability. It comes as a shock for the various
companies and businesses that will now have to treat European overweight employees as
disabled. They will get all the special benefits granted to disabled people including special
parking spaces, larger seats and other facilities to accommodate disability. Do you agree with
Europes court decision? Is it fair to call obesity a disability?
Yes
Anything that obstructs the humans ability to work is called a disability, and obesity leads to
non-productivity in many cases.
Obesity is linked to diseases. It might not be a disease but is the reason that leads to several
other diseases including disability.
Obesity results in various other problems in humans including high blood pressure and
diabetes. These are the factors that in many cases lead to paralysis. So, indirectly obesity is
disability.
The ruling came as one of the employees in Europe was sacked as he was overweight. If the
employers can sack employees on being obese, the employees have to opt for other way round.
There are several surgeries and treatments available to cure obesity. If obesity is not a
problem, why the medical world even cares to bring in such treatments?
No
It is not justified to equate overeating or under exercising with blindness or cerebral palsy or
paraplegia. It is the mockery of term disability.
In no way, obesity can become a hindrance in complete functioning of body. The speed can be
slow but then it is also applicable to non-obese people.
There are many people who are obese because of their own lethargic lifestyle. How can such
people demand of disability benefits?
The people with disabilities dont have a choice but obese people have the options to reduce
the weight and live a normal life.
Calling obesity as a disability will encourage helplessness in obese people which will further
lead in hopelessness.
Conclusion
It is important to analyze the issue in all aspects. Just because obese people cannot do certain
tasks they cannot be termed as people with disability. It indicates that we reject a moral
equivalence between obesity caused by overeating and lung cancer caused by smoking. It
indicates justifying the accidents where drivers were drunk. These people and majority of obese

people are architects of their own misfortune. They select to be obese and therefore, calling
them as disabled is unjustified
