Fault type analysis DL06 (2)

Type 2

Bit 0 : Short Circuit to Battery (SCUB)

The consequences depend on the type of the Power stage. If the power stage is a High-Side-Switch, the error
leads to a permanently active load. A Low-Side-Switch power stage leads to short circuit to battery in case the
ECU tries to switch on the load.
Bit 1 : Short Circuit to Ground (SCG)
The consequences of this error are different depending on the type of the power stage. If the power stage is a
High-Side-Switch (the ECU makes both the load and +Ubatt available), this error leads to the short circuit to
battery on the power stage being switched on. If, on the other hand, the powerstage is a Low-Side-Switch (The
ECU makes the open circuit available), this error leads to a permanently active load.
Bit 2 : Open Circuit (OC)
If the connection between the load and the ECU is open because of a faulty cable, loose connector or defective
load, the open circuit error is detected
.
Bit 3 : Excess Temperature/Not_Plausible
In case of injector power stages, This bit is set to indicate that there is an error in fast decay path. the fast decay
algorithm is set so that the solenoid valve closes quickly after each injection. This is done by switching off the
current. When there is an error in fast decay path, the flow of current may not be shut off quickly enough. This
means that the solenoid valve stays open longer than intended. This can lead to increased injection quantities.
Bit 6 : Above_Norm (Unknown Injector Errors)
This bit is set only In case of injector power stages. If the injection module signals an error pattern that is not
present in the error pattern list, an unknown injector error occurs.
9

Fault type analysis DL06 (3)

Type 3

Bit 0 : High Rail Pressure

This bit is set when the rail pressure is higher than the threshold value.
Bit 2 : Low Rail Pressure
This bit is set when the rail pressure is lower than the threshold value.
Bit 3 : Negative Deviation
This bit is set when there is a leakage In the MPROP or MPROP stick with open condition.
Bit 4 : Positive Deviation
This bit is set when there is a leakage In the injector or somewhere else.
Positive deviation can also be because of MPRV open.
Bit 5 : Leakage in Overrun Condition
This bit is set if there is a leakage In the high pressure side of the injection system and
the engine is In overrun condition.
Bit 6 : Leakage Detection Based on Quantity Balance
This bit is set when the difference between rail pressure and setpoint value is within
a range of threshold values
Bit 7 : Leakage Detection in Low idle Condition
This bit is set when governor o/p is high during low idle.
10

Fault type analysis DL06 (4)

Type 4

Bit 0 : Engine Over speed

when the sampling time eess_dt_sample_uw is lower than the set value or the engine
speed eess_n_avg_w is higher than the set value, Bit 0 is set indicating an engine over speed.

11

Fault type analysis DL06 (5)

Type 5

Main Relay SCG

When the main relay is shorted to Ground, depending on whether the main relay is 1, 2 or 3
the bits are set as shown above.
Main Relay SCB

Main Relay ECU

After the final switch-off command is given to ECU if the ECU is not switched off within
the set time then a fault is assumed to have occurred and Bit3 is set.

12

Fault type analysis DL06 (6)

Type 7

Bit 2 : No_Signal
This bit is set if short to Ground or open line or short to UBAT is detected during static sensor test.
In case of eess_s_def_uc, this bit is set if the following condition occurs :
During POLLING meta state, EESS didnt find a valid signal from the crankshaft sensor.
During WAIT_PHASE meta state, EESS didnt find a valid signal from the camshaft sensor.
During OK meta state, the camshaft signal fell off completely.
Bit 3 : Not_Plausible
This bit is set if the following conditions occurs :
Sensor is Reverse connected.
In case of CAM shaft sensor, APS or TPS detects an error.
In case of Crank shaft sensor, this bit is set if TPU plausibility error is detected.
(INC where the gap should come or INC didnt come in time or INC frequency too high
or there are too many noise pulses)
In case of eess_s_def_uc, this bit is set if wrong angle from cam system is obtained in OK
meta state or loss of crankshaft signal or plausibility.

13

Fault type analysis DL06 (7)

Type 8

Recovery :
Bit 0 or Bit 6 is set if the total number of recoveries exceeds an internal threshold.
Redundant Engine Speed Sensor (eesr_s_def_uc):
Bit 0 is set if all the following conditions are satisfied :
The difference between ASW engine speed and Redundant engine speed exceeds a threshold.
Segment speed is above threshold and if the interrupt detection status is not in-active.

14

Fault type analysis DL06 (8)

Type 11
Bit 0 is set if misfire is detected In a particular cylinder.
Type 15

Bit 0 : BUS_Off
This bit is set when the can unit indicates a bus off condition.
Bit 1 : SRC_Low or DPRAM Error
In case of CANA-module and CANB-module, this bit is set if DPRAM defect is recognized in
any of the CAN units. All the CAN units are set to DPRAM defect state and no CAN initialization
is done. Thus no message transmission or reception can take place through all the CAN units.
In case of ATC, TC and EBC1 messages, this bit is set if the message is not received In the
DPRAM register for longer than the specified time.
Bit 2 : No_Signal or Error Passive
In case of CANA-module and CANB-module, this bit is set when error-passive state is detected
on any CAN unit. Messages still get transmitted or received through that CAN unit till bus off is detected.
In case of ATC, TC and EBC1 messages, this bit is set if the read out of the DPRAM register
monitors CAN in bus off, DPRAM error, CAN stop or any combination for longer than the
time 't' (see above). Then no signal is recognized.

Type 10 : When Engine is start or stop, Fault is occured
BIT 5 4 3 2

BIT3: The watchdog of the CY310 checks the function of the microprocessor with a question/answer routine
and switches off the power stages in the event of a malfunction of the microprocessor. If a failure is

executed. STSP tries to schedule fuel injections on all cylinders. If the CY220 detects an injection although
the power stages are disabled NOT_PLAUSIBLE bit is set.

ECU Power off. [32V]
BIT5: The internal supply voltage VCC of the microprocessor is controlled in its range by an internal voltage
