Family Outreach - 20th Annual Holiday Toy Program

Page 2
Holiday Toy Program (cont.)

This holiday season we served a whopping 418 families, which included 574 children, through the
20th Annual Holiday Program! Of those families served, 295 received 2 toys per registered child and
a commissary gift certificate; the remaining 123 received toys only. We called in the entire waitlist,
so everyone who signed up got a chance to access the program.

In addition to the support the Holiday Toy Program received from numerous individuals – some
sending checks all the way from Illinois and Virginia – we would like to recognize the following San
Diego businesses and organizations for their contributions:

Downtown Lions Club Golden Triangle Rotary Kiwanis Club of San Diego

The Christmas Spirit was alive and well at the ASY offices located in Naval Medical Center. Many
organizations and individuals from the San Diego community came down for visits to show support
for active duty military patients. Patients were lucky enough to receive gift cards, stockings,
cookies, and other goodies from Santa and all his helpers. And yes, for the record, none of the
patients were on Santa’s naughty list!

Many thanks in particular to Lincoln Management’s Sam Merrick (our incoming Executive Director
already spreading cheer and good will for the ASY) and Women’s Council of the Navy League for
making the holidays special for patients at Naval Medical Center!
