operation maintenance and repair of electrical distribution lines. The incumbent exercise little to
no independent decision making in accomplishing specific assignments and works under
immediate supervisor or direction. Spends much time of learning apprenticeship type skills and
learning principles and procedures required of apprenticeship training. As experienced /
knowledge us obtained, may exercise more independence in accomplishing routine job tasks
under closed supervision. After successful completion if the probation period the incumbent will
be required the journeyman lineman level.

JOB EXPERIENCE:

Assembly of different kinds of towers: D, DL, D10, D25, D55, D90

Erecting towers. We use tele handler 3600 50T crane erecting manually.
Wiring and payout of big band with conductor 700 mcm AAAC.
We use spacing chair for installing spacer on 2 bundle conductor.
Blocking or dressing. Assembling of suspension insulator and fittings.
Earth wire. Payout earth wire ( fiber optic )
Clamping or clipping and back hang.
Install and replaced transformer cutouts, arresters, b.o. transformers
Replacement of broken insulator, 20KV, 345KV done it hot.
Reinforcement of blasted wires and jumpers, 20KV, 34.5KV done hot.
Line clearing and line patrolling.
Assist with installation, operation, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground
electrical power lines and systems, such work is generally performed on the ground.
Assist in the construction, operation, maintenance and repair of transmission and
substation facilities.
Assists with service calls concerning power outages and electrical problems.
Receive training both in books / classroom skills and on the job skills. Must continue to
pass ongoing to proceed to higher skill / job levels.
Learns to operate motorized equipment, use hand tools, and perform routine shop areas
maintenance on electrical equipment, machinery and tools.
Follows safety guidelines as part of training.
May stock and services vehicles to be equipped to respond to emergency situations.
When on call, must be able to respond to calls within thirty (30) minutes.
May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays for extended periods; may be
required to perform duties as part of the Citys recovery force during emergencies and
disasters.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Assembling of Steel poles for transmission lines 105 ft. 3 stages 10m/stage.
Assist on wire stringing and reconductoring 795 ACSR, 115 KV
Installing of Guy Wire.
Knowledge of electricity as applied to distribution system is preferred. Basic knowledge
of electricity.
Basic knowledge of occupational hazards and proper safety precautions of the line
repairer trade / profession.
Ability to learn to climb poles with a climbing belt and hook and perform strenuous
duties in all kinds of weather.
Ability to understand and follow or and written instructions quickly and accurately, and
under adverse conditions.

Must be able to make simple mathematical computations and tabulations accurately and
with reasonable speed and have capacity to learn more complex mathematical
computations.
