This focus group will be based on my interests into the pop music genre. I plan to target an audience of 11-18 year old females to participate in my focus group as this is my intended target audience for my magazine.
The stereotypical audience profile:
Who mainly listens to that music: The genre is stereotyped to be associated with young teens that are usually female. Gender: Female Age: 11-18 Social Class: Working and middle class Ethnicity: White British Interests: Fashion, friends, boys, going out, gossip, shopping, hair and makeup Dress sense: Colourful, trendy, possibly childish? Why they listen to pop? They idolise the pop stars and they enjoy listening to upbeat and fun music. They take an interest to the whole image of pop as it appeals to them. How often? They listen to pop music quite often as they tend to listen to their favourite artists a lot. What they would like in magazines? Artists featured that are of the pop genre who they will admire. They will be interested in articles with these artists and gossip about them, as well as fashion, hair and makeup advice.
