To protect the physical integrity of the
workers, equipment and facilities under
circumstances created by the presence of
electric storms.

RED alert, the supervisor or the person

responsible for the local detector has to
take local readings using a portable
detector. Based on the readings of his
own detector, the following actions will
take place:
Local level red, cease work and report
to refuge areas as indicated in this
procedure.
Local level yellow, continue working as
long as you are within 100 meters of a
refuge area.
Local level green, continue working as
normal.
Remember that according to the
operations manual, portable detectors
should be used in a free
electromagnetic interference area.
- On issuing a YELLOW alert:

un tono de peligro que puede ser
fcilmente escuchado.
El indicador

relmpago detectado oscilar por
aproximadamente 25 segundos.

atentos a las indicaciones de la

6.5.1. Proteccin Externa

Todas las instalaciones estn protegidas con
un pararrayos, el cual se basa esencialmente
en
canalizar por la toma de tierra la
diferencia de potencial entre la nube y el
cabezal del pararrayos. El objetivo es
proteger las instalaciones del impacto directo
del rayo, excitando su carga y capturando su
impacto para conducir su potencial de alta
tensin a la toma de tierra elctrica.
Adems se cuenta con sistema de puesta a
tierra con objeto de conseguir que en el
conjunto de instalaciones, edificio y superficie
prxima al terreno, no existan diferencias de
potencial peligrosas y que al mismo tiempo,
permita el paso a tierra de las corrientes de
falta o de descarga de origen atmosfrico.
6.5.2. Proteccin Interna
Todo equipo conectado a la red elctrica,
telefnica o de datos est expuesto a los
efectos de las sobre tensiones durante una
tormenta elctrica. Estas sobre tensiones
