Queens for the King

January 2015 Newsletter

We are back South Africa!

After a wonderful Christmas holiday visiting
friends and family, we are back in South Africa
ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work.
Thomas is hard at work in the school getting new
teachers sorted. We are training a new group of
interns to mentor the kids spiritually and tutor
them in reading and math. Elizabeth is starting her
senior year. Jacob is adjusting to his new high
school. We look forward to the arrival of the
Grove Level team in February. We are trusting
God for a great year in 2015.

Teaching them in all

things..
God blessed us with an answered
prayer this month. We have been
praying for new teachers since June.
We started the school year 3
teachers short. HOWEVERWe
hired a new first and fourth grade
teacher this week! Our previous
Australian volunteer teacher
(Rochelle) has applied for her SA
visa. Once it is granted, she will
come and teach in the school for an
additional 9 months. What a
praise!!! We have godly teachers for
our kids who can teach them more
than just ABCs but also teach them
to pray and follow the Lord.

Train up a child in the

way he should go.
We continue our spiritual mentoring
with the kids. We take them to
church on Sundays. I teach 5th grade
Sunday school with 2 of our Tabitha
boys in that class. Thomas and I also
do devotional groups with the kids
weekly. The Sweetwaters ministry is
going through a difficult transition
currently. This has suspended house
visits for now. Please pray the time
will be short so we can begin visits
again. We are reconnecting with the
SW teens to restart their Bible study
this year. Please pray for God to
guide us as to what topics to cover.

New interns are here!

God is still blessing the ministry with wonderful interns.
Maddy, Tessa, and Courtney are settling into Tabitha well.
They do devotions with the kids, teach our preschool classes
each morning, and help the kids with homework each
afternoon. They have gotten to do food distribution in
Sweetwaters and feed the people there. Soon we will start up
reading groups. These girls will be vital to the success of
improving the Tabitha kids reading and math abilities. These
girls are the best!

Our little prefect

Elizabeth began her senior
year of high school at Grace
College. She is a prefect
which means she is an
elected student leader of the
school. She was also elected
SCA president. SCA is the
South African version of the
Fellowship of Christian
Athletes. She will lead her
school in Bible study
weekly. Pray for God to use
her at her school to reach her
lost classmates for Christ.

High school here he

comes!
Jacob started high school
this month. He will attend an
all-boys Christian school
called St. Charles. He is all
suited up in his new
uniforms. He is making
friends fast. He is playing
cricket and swimming for his
new school. So far he really
loves his new
schoolexcept for the
homework.
