AN INVITATION TO ISLAM
We welcome you with the greetings of Islam: PEACE BE UPON YOU, and the Guidance of ALLAH
(the Creator of the Universe) and His Mercy be upon you, your family and friends.

ISLAM is a complete code of life. It tells mankind about the purpose of his creation and existence, his
ultimate destiny, his place among creation and, more importantly, provides him with the guidance to lead
a purposeful life to be rewarded in the Life Hereafter. The word 'ISLAM' means voluntary surrender to
the Will of Allah and obedience to His Commands. Islam is a complete code of living for mankind
covering every aspect of life including political, socio-cultural, legal, and economic spheres. The
Islamic way of life is based on total obedience to Allah. A person, who freely and consciously accepts the
Islamic way of life and practices it, is called a MUSLIM.

SOME COMMENTS OF NON-MUSLIMS ABOUT ISLAM:

♦ DUNCAN GREENLESS writes in 'The Gospel Of Islam' (1948): - "The nobility and broad
tolerance of this creed, which accepts as God-inspired all the real religions of the world, will always
be a glorious heritage for mankind. On it could indeed be built a perfect world religion."

♦ ENCYCLOPAEDIA BRITANNICA: - "Muhammad is the most successful of all Prophets and

religious personalities."

♦ GEORGE BERNARD SHAW: - "If a man like Muhammad were to assume the dictatorship of the
modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems that would bring it the much needed peace
and happiness."

♦ ANNIE BESANT writes in 'The Life and Teachings of Muhammad' (1932): - "I often think that
woman is freer in Islam than in Christianity. Woman is more protected by Islam than by the faith
which preaches monogamy. In Al-Qur'an, the law about woman is more just and liberal. It is only in
the last twenty years that Christian England has recognised the rights of woman to property, while
Islam has allowed this right from all times...It is a slander to say that Islam preaches that women
have no souls."

♦ LAMARTINE writes in 'Historie De La Turquie' (Paris, 1854): - "...PHILOSOPHER, ORATOR,

APOSTLE, LEGISLATOR, WARRIOR, CONQUEROR OF IDEAS, RESTORER OF RATIONAL
BELIEFS, of a cult without images, the FOUNDER OF TWENTY TERRESTRIAL EMPIRES, and of
one spiritual empire, that is MUHAMMAD. As regards all standards by which human greatness
may be measured, we may well ask, IS THERE ANY GREATER MAN THAN HE?"

CONCLUSION:
What is the condition of the world today? Has man freed himself from all superstitions and absurd
beliefs? Has he liberated himself from the slavery of worldly tyrants indulging in the exploitation of man
by man? If mankind has not been successful in accomplishing these tasks despite all developments
in science and technology, then Islam has still a great and glorious part to play. WE INVITE YOU
