BUGSMASH
AAVISHKAR13
DESCRIPTION:
Were you one of those gross kids who relished the crunchy sound of a bug getting
smashed? Well, then this is just the place you want to be! There are so many *bugs*, and I
bet if you squash one and hear closely enough, you can hear the crunch! Exercise your brain
cells and get cracking, there are more bugs than you can handle, and not enough time! So
get smashing!
Group event..numerous bugs. only one objective make the code do what it should!
There will be numerous problems equally divided into following types:
SYNTACTIC BUGS:
You would be presented with a code which would contain syntactic errors. The challenge is
to make the code *bug* free without compiling it or using any debugger. Your job is to edit
the code, clean erroneous fragments and append alternate code pieces which would do the
same job. You will be rewarded if you stay as close to the original code as possible.
LOGICAL BUGS:
The problem would contain a code with multiple logical flaws. Your job is simple-rectify the
mistakes, fill up the flaws and make the code run as we want it to. Code will be wellcommented to guide you explaining what each fragment does achieve or at least try to. You
lose points drastically if you replace the entire procedures in the code with your code rather
than just modify incorrect statements and append as little as possible.
OBFUSCATED CODE:
Sounds mysterious, isnt it? The code is in very *interesting* shape and we mean literally.
The entire code fragments have been toyed around and your job is to tell us what it does.
You have been used to see the code well-commented, properly indented and cleanly
spaced. This code would have neither of these properties, but still would be working.
Despite formally the programs objective without actually executing it, you get points if you
are correct, concise and quick.
