CAPAIN PHILIPS MOVIE REVIEW

Captain Phillips is a movie that based on truth accident story of Captain
Richard Phillip 2009 US-flagged Maersk Alabama, American cargo hijacking
by pirates in Somalia, Captain Phillips is directed by Paul Greengrass and
Sony entertainment.
The movie started when Captain Richard Phillips packing his bag and his
passport and go to port ushered by his wife on the way to the port they talk
about their child and changing times.
When Captain Phillips arrive to port he check his cargo ship and the headed
of Maersk Alabama that he lead by, knowing his journey is across to Somalia
so she make a briefing with his crew and tell them to prepare a bad
condition.
The conflict in this movie started when Captain Phillips ship is following by
two pirates boat, When Phillips spotted the pirate boats coming his way, he
got on his radio and faked a call to a U.S. Navy warship, dropping his accent
to play the voice of the Navy responder, so that the pirates might overhear
the exchange on their radios and think that assistance was on the way. In the
movie, the mothership and two speed boats are pursuing the Alabama at
that time, and the mothership and one of the speedboat turn back. Phillips
trick scared all the ships off but one stoping because of blowing engine.
Captain Phillips can handle that situation perfectly so they can through that
bad situation.
The other day the pirate boat come closer to the US-Maersk Alabama ship
that lead Captain Phillips, this time the pirates success hijacking Captain
Phillips ship, the pirates want to take hostage by forcing Captain Phillips to
tell them where their crew is hiding, but he tell the pirates to he guiding
them to his crew, but his crew finally can capture one of the pirates than be
hostage.

Their crew try to make over by changing the leader pirates with the Captain
and let the pirates go, but the plan is not as the thought, when the changing
hostage the pirates successfully retook Captain Phillips as hostage.
in lifeboats travels, the pirates were frustrated by the condition of thirst,
hunger and thorn between insanity when they run low on their drugs. To save
Captain Phillips, US Navy destroyer USS Bainbridge were assigned with the
task.
when the US Navy intervened, Captain Phillips is able to escape and swims
towards the ships. However, the effort failed and he was brought back to the
lifeboat. It caused a ruckus that lead to a gunfire which gives the SEAL Team
a permission to run the rescue.
One of the officers on the Bainbridge contacts the lifeboat and identifies all
the pirates by their names, which appears to alarm them. They have Muse
step out of the lifeboat and go onto the Bainbridge as they are towing the
lifeboat toward them. Muse requests to see the elders, though he's just told
that they'll be coming soon. The officers have a visual on Najee steering the
boat, but not on the other two. Back on the lifeboat, Phillips grabs a shirt to
put on, and Najee tells him if he moves again, Elmi will shoot him. This threat
is picked up on the Bainbridge. Phillips then quickly grabs a pen and paper to
write one last note to his family. Bilal pleads with him to stop or Najee will kill
them both. Najee sees Phillips writing and grabs the paper from him. This
pushes Phillips to the edge and he attacks Najee. Bilal and Elmi pull Phillips
off Najee and they tie him up and blindfold him, leading to a tense standoff
where the pirates realize that the elders aren't coming. The Bainbridge stops
the tow to get a visual on all three pirates, which gives the snipers the
opportunity to shoot and kill them. Their blood sprays onto Phillips and he
screams. Muse is then arrested while Phillips is safely taken from the boat.

Phillips is treated for his wounds on the medical bay of the Bainbridge. The
doctor asks him if he is hurt and inspects his wounds, including those around
his wrists from being tied up. When she asks him about the blood on him, he
becomes overwhelmed with shock and distress, and he begins to break down
and tearfully respond that it's not his blood. He asks if his family knows that
he is safe and the doctor tells him that they know. She lies him down and
assures him that everything will be okay.

Analysis
According to the Captain Phillip movie that related to the Maritime security
services, we should explore the ability of Maritime security to ensure the
stability and security of ocean situation. Due to the Captain Phillip movie,
there were several situations that occurred in the movie such as; situation
when the Captain has no other option to reach their destination where they
have to passed the Somalias maritime territory where the situation there
were recognize as very risky path to sail in that area because the Somalian
pirates that known so brave and also uncivilized. The other situation was
when the ship that leads by Captain Phillip was hijacked by the Somalian that
they might have been aware before. The several situations after the
Somalian pirates hijacked the ship follow by kidnaping, threatening, robing,
and also occurred.
Despite the attention of ship crews were focus to fight the pirates, Captain
Phillip was concerned about saving the ship and his crews by calling UKMTO
which responsible to the case of hijack, after the kidnap situation of Captain
Phillip, then the US Navy destroyer USS Bainbridge were assigned with the
task. The order from pentagon mentioned that if they could not reach a
peaceful resolution, a SEAL Team will be launched to do it the hard way. At
that night, Captain Phillip has attempt to set himself free from the pirates but
unfortunately, he got caught again but this time the pirates were stuck by
the SEAL Team by US which they only have one option, kill Captain Phillip
and died in their boat. Unfortunately, before the pirates decided to kill the
Captain, the sniper of SEAL Team of US has been ordered to execute them.
In this film looks at all the important role the US navy, which is carried out by
SEAL rescue and the use of intelligence in the arrest of one of the pirates. It
is clear that the US maritime security which quick response in to marine
issues even outside the country.
In the fight against pirates US has made some plans and one of them is

The presence of Naval/Military forces in the Gulf of Aden,concentrated on

the Internationally Recommended Transit Corridor (IRTC), has significantly
reduced the incidence of piracy attack in this area. With Naval/Military forces
concentrated in this area, Somali pirate activity has been
forced out into the Arabian Sea and beyond. It is important to note, however,
that there remains a serious and continuing threat from piracy in the Gulf of
Aden.
according to that website USA has a lot of plan on combating pirates to show
their hegemony and diplomatic power. And no need long time for them to
know the high risk pirates activity area in Somalia.
US maritime security is not only in Africa but round the world with high
diplomatic strategy. Let say Diego Garcia island as one of USA top secret its
British ocean territory but they have diplomatic with England to put their
troop their.
