How would you like take a trip to the past, traveling in a brown bomber (Packer car)?
The story details the road trip of a family from Detroit, Michigan to Birmingham, Alabama
during a rough time in America; when the fight for rights of African Americans from the Jim
Crow segregation took place. This book details the views from the eyes of a young African
American boy from Detroit who was sent to visit his grandmother for a summer. His
experiences would forever change his life and how he viewed others. He would quickly learn
the reality of southern culture during a time of change. What would make you want to change
how you think? What could you have done that might have caused you to fear for your life
when you were visiting your grandmother in Birmingham Alabama?
This book is for all students and will help you travel back to 60s.
