So-too-also-either-neither-as well
These words translate aussi or non plus
They are used to avoid the repetition of verbs or verb phrases
They are always used with auxiliary verbs
Two constructions are possible
They are used in affirmative or negative sentences
Or

Mary went shopping and I did too( I did as well)

Mary went shopping and so did I (the subject goes last instead of first)

Note : Instead of too the more colloquial as well is commonly heard in the first construction
My brother is doing his homework and Im doing my homework
My brother is doing his homework and Im doing mine as well
Too and as well are always at the end of the sentence.
Also means the same thing as too or as well but it is put at different
places in the sentence. Often before the main verb.
_________________________________________
In negative sentences instead of saying too or as well we must use either or neitherBoth are
correct.

Either means one or the other; neither means neither the one nor the other
Either and neither apply to two persons or things
e.g. It is either John or Tom
It is neither John nor Tom
I dont drink beer and Jane doesnt drink beer
I dont drink beer and Jane doesnt either
Or
I dont drink beer and neither does Jane
(again, the subject goes last instead of first)
Neither Laura nor Susan like Tom
You have to select either the blue one or the brown one
P.S. dont forget: to make those short additions you must use the proper auxiliaries
i.e. if you have a present you use do or does ,if it is progressive you use the auxiliary to be
and if the tense is it past we use did or was, were if it is to be .If it is future we use will
etc You will find out in the following exercise
