MONITORING OPTIONS
MGEs Power Management Module (PMM) and Remote Power Management Module (RPMM) are
available with four optional monitoring systems: the Multi-Circuit Monitor (MCM), the Circuit Monitor
4000 (CM4000), the Power Meter 800 (PM800), and the DMMS300. All four monitoring systems are
equipped with RS232 and/or RS485 serial communications. A stand alone web server / Ethernet gateway
is an option with two of the monitoring systems, multiplexing the data from multiple PMM/RPMMs and
placing it on an Ethernet network. The Ethernet cards also allow the PMM/RPMM data to be accessed
directly over the internet without requiring a web server.

The MCM can be configured to monitor the power both on the input and output
side of the transformer. Note that when the PMM is used with the STS (PMM Plus configuration), the
STS will provide input power monitoring via its local display. Consult the MCM manual for details. This
option is not available with harmonic cancellation transformers.
Panelboard Main Breaker Current Monitoring Option (optional with MCM only)
The Panelboard Main Breaker monitoring displays the current of the panelboard main
breakers (panelboard main breakers or distribution breakers). In the event the current
approaches the trip rating of the breaker, the monitor will alarm via the LCD display.
Since the panelboard main breakers are rated at 225A and panelboards can potentially
feed in excess of 600A of branch circuit breakers, monitoring prevents accidental tripping
due to overloaded panelboards.
The Branch Circuit Monitor (BCM) monitors individual current of all 42 branch circuit
breakers on a standard SQ-D panelboard. In the event the current exceeds a threshold
(custom programmable via a PC on every pole for pre-alarm/summary alarm and vital
alarm thresholds), the alarm will be activated. Alarm parameters and currents are
available via the MCM LCD display, serial output, or can be downloaded to a PDA via
the IR port on the MCM display (serial port is disabled if IR port is enabled).

DMMS300
The DMMS300 displays 23 instantaneous electrical parameters. Values for each parameter are accessed
through the keypad on the meters front panel. The DMMS 300 displays four current measurements, six
voltage measurements, seven power readings, and six parameters of total harmonic distortion. All
readings are faceplate accessible. All measured values are displayed on a large format LCD display.

CM4000 Manual
Based on plug and play technology, the ECC plugs into an expansion slot on the circuit monitor providing
direct connection to the Ethernet network using either UTP or fiber cabling. An RS485 MODBUS master
port on the ECC supports a daisy-chain of up to 31 additional devices without a repeater, allowing the
CM4000 with ECC to act as an Ethernet gateway for the devices. The ECC supports MODBUS and TCP/IP
protocol. Embedded HTML pages allow for easy device setup and supply real-time power system
information from the CM4000 circuit monitor through a standard web browser. Similar information can also
be viewed for devices daisy-chained to the ECC's onboard RS485 port.

ALARM INFORMATION
The PMM/RPMM are equipped with one dry contact alarm which is activated when a metered value
exceeds a preset parameter, in the event of transformer over-temperature, TVSS failure, or activation of
the EPO (Emergency Power Off) trip. An audible alarm will also sound in the event the dry contact alarm
is activated. To obtain more detailed status of any monitored parameter, it is necessary to interface with the
communications port of the PMM/RPMM monitor allowing alarms to be annunciated via software systems.
Standard alarms include:
