Malacca is one of most historical place in Malaysia.

Malacca was founded by


Parameswara, a prince from Palembang in 14th century. Malacca is small city with
many eye catching sights and attractive modern estabilishments. We can easy go
around this city on foot or trishaw to explore many places that make Malacca
become unique. As we explore them,we will learn about the rich heritage and
history that has shaped the landscape and left a mark on Malaysias cultural
lifestyle.Rooted as Malaysias historical city,visiting Malacca is like a journey back in
time to witness the adventures and discoveries during Malaccas golden age. There
is just so many colourful sights in Malacca but beyond it you can explore other
cultural places in outskirt or engage in recreational activities such as jungle trekking
and also golf.
There are many places that we can go in Malacca such as AFamosa.
AFamosa is a Portugese fortress located in Malacca. The fort of Porta De Santiago is
the other name of AFamosa is one of the oldest surviving European architectural
remains in the whole of Asia.This AFamosa is originally constructed by Alfonso de
Albuquerque. This AFamosa is one of the most popular sites that you can find when
visiting Malacca.It is perhaps Malaccas best known sightseeing spot and it is
located just next to Stadthuys building.We can go to there by driving there or get on
a taxi. Locals there will be able to lead you there as it is a famous landmark in
Malacca. There are many other attraction around the Porta De Santiago such as the
Islamic Museum of Malacca.
Another place that we can see in Malacca is Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum.
This museum shows the local history of ethnic Chinese-Malays called Baba-Nyonya
or Peranakan in Malacca. It is a living museum located in Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock,a
street adjacent the Jonker Walk. Established in 1896 by Chan Kim Lay,the Baba &
Nyonya Heritage Museum was once the family home of the Baba Chan family known
as Rumah Abu. This Baba-Nyonya Museum illustrates the way of living of the
peranakans at the end of 19th century, a unique blend of the east and west. The
design of this heritage building is influenced by the various European architecture
such as the Victorian era chandeliers,with the building mainly framed by the heavy
Roman columns.
Besides, the front area of the interior of the Baba-Nyonya Heritage Museum
leads into an open courtyard whre sun shine streams into the house on sunny day
and raindrops patter during the rainy season. Most of their house have a size about
20feet width and 180 feet long. In this museum,the visitor is not allowed to take any
pictures or video recording during their tour. The interior of the house is
complemented with a number of priceless antique furniture made in Italy,Britain
and Dutch. In this museum,we can see beautiful traditional costumes and a unique
bridal chamber and also there is black and white photo exhibits the Chinese
tradition of foot binding which was common among girls of peranakan.

The other unique places in Malacca is Menara Taming Sari.This Menara


Taming Sari was opened for business on the 18 th of April 2008. It was measured 110
metres in heights,its revolving structure offers a 360 degree panoramic view of
Malacca town an beyond.This building is located in the popular district of Bandar
Hilir on Jalan Merdeka,only 3 minutes walk from Mahkota Parade Shopping Complex
and Dataran Pahlawan Megamall,the tower is named after the Taming Sari keris,a
mythical weapon said to posses mytical powers belonging to the legendary Malay
warrior,hang Tuah. Even the structures design follows the shape of the keris,with
the peak of the tower resembling the its hilt. This Menara Taming Sari can
accommodate 80 people per viewing session ,which lasts about 7 minutes,the glass
cabin hypnotically revolves as it rises from the ground to top of the tower.Once it
reaches the top,a breathtaking,we can see view of Malaacca as far as eye can see.
When there is good weather,we can see the Malacca River running through. In
addition to the opportunity to get a birds eye view of Malacca,the attraction also
fitted with 5 commercial outlets consisting of a cafe, a restaurant and souvenir
shops.
From the AFamosa,you will pass by the Malacca Sultanate Palace. It is
situated at the foot of the famous St paul hills. It was paintstakingly constructed in
1985 using traditional construction technique and materials,based on accounts in
the 16th century. According to the annals, Sultan Mansor Shah seven tiered palace
was built entirely without nails and supported with carved,wooden pillars and
featured a copper and zinc roof. The most elaborate royal palace ever constructed
in the world in 1459. Sultan Mansor Shah was the nobleman who ruled Malacca from
1456-1477.According to the annals,it was then destroyed the year after the Sultan
accended the throne when it was struck by lightning. The Malacca Sultanate Palace
is actually a replica of the structure which was built by the already extinct sultanate
of Malacca. The sultanate of Malacca was the rules of the city before the arrival of
the Portugese in the 1500s. the plan of the place was based on the Malay Annals
account of Sultan Mansor Shah Palace.
Another place that we can go in Malacca is Jalan Hang Jebat,or Jonker Walk is
it commonly known,is a street in historical Chinatown of Malacca starting just across
the river from Dutch,Jonker Walk is flanked on both sides of the road with heritage
houses dating back up to 7th century. At that time,rich Baba-Nyonya also known as
Peranakan descendents of 15th -16th century Chinese immigrant marrying local
Malay woman live and did their business here. Today,the street houses sells
antique,textile,handicrafts and souvenir similar to what we can at central market in
Kuala Lumpur. On the weekends,starting Friday night starting 6pm,the road is closed
all for traffic and turns in a very crowded night market. The famous chicken rice
bowl dish can also be found here,just opposite the start Jonker Walk near the bridge.
However,over the years it has turned to clothing and crafts outlets as well as
restaurant.

The best part on Jonker Walk is the night market on Friday ans Saturday that
sells everything from tasty street to cheap keep saker.when you walk into the
street,you will be surprise by the distinct shop along the street. While you are
enjoying your walk along the street, you are expected to find shop selling wood
statue,unique antique,unique clothes,interior and household
products,souvenir,colourful accessories. At Jonker Walk , there are also local
awesome food and deserts along the street. There are numerous caf and
restaurant that sell local food. The most renowned among tourists will be
Geographer Caf located at the middle of the street. Painted in yellow with striking
green window paint,the caf is another landmarks in the street. Besides,the chicken
rice bowl,cendol,crunchy barbeque and Dodol are also a must to feast your plate.
Additionally, Jonker Walk on Friday,Saturday and Sunday will be a different
experience in different way. The night market will start from 6pm until 12 am on this
three day where there will also be additional store along the street. Othwer than
nfood and souvenir,there are also talented people drawing portraits of yours and
also writing calligraphy with your name on it. Besides , talented handicapped people
performing arts and suprising shows.
The Stadthuys is an old Dutch spelling meaning city hall,also known Red Square is a historical structure
situated in the heart of Malacca Town. It was built by the Dutch occupants in 1650 as the office of the
Dutch Governor. This town hall is the oldest hall in Malacca. This sixtieth century building is reported to
be the oldest Dutch building in far East .Besides,there is also a temple named Cheng Hoon Teng which
is recorded to be oldest temple in Malaya. This place of worship for Buddhists looks very serene with
ancient Chinese Gods.

The Stadthuys (an old Dutch spelling, meaning city hall), also known as the Red Square, is
a historical structure situated in the heart ofMalacca Town, the administrative capital of the state
of Malacca, Malaysia. It was built by the Dutch occupants in 1650 as the office of the Dutch
Governor and Deputy Governor.Town Hall is the oldest hall in Malacca. This sixtieth century building is
reported to be the oldest Dutch building in the Far East. At present, government offices and a museum
are housed in the hall. It is reminiscent of mediaeval architecture and painting. Besides, there is also a
temple named Cheng Hoon Teng which is recorded to be the oldest temple in Malaya. This place of
worship for Buddhists looks very serene with ancient Chinese Gods.

This whole city,Malacca having very friendly people.Visitor will get wonderful
memories while having fun here.The tourist should go to Malacca as it wonderful
holiday destination of Malaysia. This is not a kind of dramatic place found in any
city. It is like fantastic place that some consider social and inviting.Today,there are
many historical sites to visit that give you a glimpse of Malaccas glorious past.
