The Table shows that, the year 2002 was proved to be a successful and challenging year
for the United Commercial Bank Ltd. In this year UCBL has efficiently performed and
become one of the top performer compare to all other banks operating in Bangladesh, in
terms of foreign exchange business. Its excellent performance is evident from the
following financial data:

The above Bar Chart shows that Islami bank was in the first position in export process in
the year 2002. And with Tk. 7179 million business the United Commercial Bank was in
the 3nd position. The AB bank that was 2nd , had the operation of Tk. 8436 million in
export process in the year 2002.

The above Bar Chart shows the comparative position of different private banks of
Bangladesh. Importation is foreign goods and services purchased by customer, firms and
Governments in Bangladesh. And from the above Bar Chart it is clear that Exim bank has
made the most of the import process in the year 2002. Exim has made Tk.16889 million
processing in the year 2002, on the other hand United Commercial bank has in the 2 nd
position by processing Tk.14975 million in the year 2002.

The Bar Chart shows that foreign Remittance handled by Dhaka bank stood at tk. 1579
million during the year 2002. The Dhaka bank is in the first position of processing
foreign remittance. The United Commercial bank has Tk.600 million foreign remittance
that give it the 2nd position compare to other banks that are shown here. Among the other
competitors, Mercantile Bank was very close to UCBL in terms of generating foreign
remittance.

The above comparative analysis of different banks with UCBL shows that, UCBL
is operating its Foreign Exchange business successfully, compare to some other
banks. And the operation of UCBL has a consistence in every sectors or
department of FEB. And the UCBL bank has the opportunity to become the
pioneer bank in providing foreign exchange services to its clients through efficient
operation management.
