Rising Stars Childrens Center

Babies are enjoying doing crafts with
bingo dabbers. Some of the
babies have began to walk
this month. Great Job! They
love going to the park and
for walks !

Preschoolers are learning so much! They

are working on their shapes, colors
and recognizing their names. The
children enjoy being the helper of
the day. The helper of the day is
chosen when the child demonstrates listening ears, gentle
hands and feet, and using their
manners. Every day a different
child is chosen.

craft! Outside they are
enjoying the slide and trying eat the snow! The toddlers have enjoyed making snowmen and snow balls!

Before & After School Care

Kinders have been working hard on
their workbooks. This month
they have finished their
alphabet books and now
are on their math work
books! The kinders
have enjoyed the warm
weather by going to the
park daily !
Before & After School Care
have been enjoying the nice
weather for the walking school bus
and the bus stop. All the children are

the weekly programming meetings. Some of

the things the kids are
interested
in exploring how big dinosaur
bones are, how to say baby in
Cree (awasis) and making
moon mud. Everyday the children have a circle time to discuss the date, holidays, birthdays, weather and the season.

Highlights
-If your child chooses to bring Valentines Day cards for their peers, please ensure that
you only fill out the From portion (their name) and please provide enough for the entire
class. . There are 8 Babies, 13 Toddlers, 14 Preschoolers and 27 Before and After
School Care kids. Please only send cards and healthy treats for your child(ren) to share
with their friends.
-Please be advised that ALL children that participate in the Walking School Bus must
have the following winter gear daily:
Winter Jackets, Ski Pants, Winter Boots, Toques, and Winter Gloves
For safety reasons, if your child does not have these items when they arrive at the club
the staff will refuse Walking School Bus services for your child. The Parent/Guardian will
be responsible for making alternate arrangements for getting your child to and from
school. The child cannot remain at the Boys & Girls Club during regular school hours.
The Walking School Bus will operate until the weather is colder than -33 (including the
wind chill). In this situation, Parents/Guardians will be responsible for taking their
children to school in the morning and we will attempt to make arrangements to have
the Action Bus pick up the children after school.
-If you would like to donate any craft supplies (glue, paint, etc.) or old newspapers, we
would love to take them off your hands! Please bring them in to the admin office and
we will make good use of them!
