Chemical Resistance
In most applications, fiberglass cable trays is used because of their
superior corrosion resistance, therefore, corrosion resistance data for
specific enviroments are very important. The corrosion resistance guide
in the Application Enviroments Section offers permance data in the
most common enviroments. If the information for especific enviroment
is not shown in the guide, please consult our technical department.
Installation/Application
Guide for cable tray installation, supports and support locations and
thermal expansion/contraction is provided in NEMA FG 1.
The installation instructions for supports and support locations
contained in the installation Procedure Section of this catalog are based

polmerica (generalmente resina polister o vinilester), y mltiples
llamas, conforme a ASTM E-84 CLASE 1.

Sistema de escalerillas
porta cables FEMOGLAS MR S y HD

FEMOGLAS MR Cable Tray
Systems S and HD
FEMOGLAS MR Cable Tray Systems are available in two designs, for
a normal work S and for a heavy duty work HD.
The FEMOGLAS MR Cable Tray system for normal work uses a main
profile design E and in the cable tray system for heavy work uses a
main profile design C.
The main profiles system FEMOGLAS MR E and C have inner
flanges, this design is specially used in a parallel mounting of the cable
trays or near the wall mountings, to maximize the space in
consideration.

1 Paso
6 Paso
2 Paso
4 Paso
Determinar la carga de cables. Calculando la carga en kilos por metro
lineal de cables a soportar. Considerando las cargas anexas como
hielo, nieve, viento, etc.
5 Paso

Step 6
Step 2
Determine tray loading depth and width. Depending on the size and
number of cables needed, use the guidelines NEC Article 318-8 to
318-12 to determine tray loading depth and width.
Step 3
Step 7
Determine the NEMA or CSA load class. The cabley tray system should
be determined by the combination of cable load (step 4) and support
spacing (step 6). Consult the Structural Design section of this catalog
or NEMA FG 1 to assist you in the selection of a tray system that joins
your requeriments.
Step 4
Determine the cable load. Calculate de cables load to be supported in
kgs. per linear mt. per linear mts the load of the cables to be supported.
Consider any extraneaous loads such as ice, snow, wind, etc.
Step 5
Determine the cable type, from the two side rail profile configurations,
C o E. Refer to the Structural Designs Section of this Catalog to
determine the tray type.

Instalacin
escalerillas porta cables FEMOGLAS MR.
Consideraciones especiales

Instalation
The following information shall be used as guideline for installing
FEMOGLAS MR cable tray.
Special Considerations
With a few exceptions, the installation of fiberglass cable trays does
not differ from that of metal trays.
All standard instalation practices and procedures are applied generally
special handling is not required, generally.
Tools Required
Fiberglass tray are easy to cut and drill. For most installation, standard
tools are sufficient, however, for large jobs where many sections
requiere cutting and drilling, high speed tools may become dull due to
the abrasiveness of glass.
In such installations, the use of carbide tipped drills and abrasive saw
blades is recomended.
