AVAILABILITY Available, at the Commission's option, throughout the territory served by


the Public Works Commission in accordance with the Commission's established service
regulations.
APPLICABILITY To electric service used for industrial purposes where the maximum
monthly demand exceeds 25,000 kW, the customer takes service directly from the
Commissions existing transmission lines of 66,000 volts or higher and also owns, operates,
and maintains all transformation and other (not including metering) equipment normally
provided by the Commission.
CHARACTER OF SERVICE Service shall be three-phase, sixty hertz alternating current
at the Commission's standard available voltages. Service shall be provided at a single point of
delivery through one meter.

DETERMINATION OF BILLING DEMAND The monthly demand charges shall be the


sum of the On-Peak Demand Charge and the Excess Off-Peak Demand Charge computed as
follows:
The On-Peak Billing Demand shall be the higher of:
a) The 15-minute interval kW recorded or computed during the On-Peak
period; or,
b) 50% of the contracted demand until such time as the recorded or
computed demand, either On-Peak or Off-Peak, first equals or exceeds
the contracted demand.

The Excess Off-Peak Billing Demand, where applicable, shall be the


maximum 15-minute interval kW recorded or computed during the Off-Peak
period less the On-Peak billing demand.

DETERMINATION OF ON-PEAK AND OFF-PEAK PERIODS

On-Peak hours shall be defined as daily (not including Saturdays, Sundays or


holidays) periods as follows:
Summer (April-October)
Winter (November-March)

1:00 PM to 10:00 PM
6:00 AM to 12:00 Noon & 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Off-Peak hours shall be defined as all other hours.

POWER FACTOR ADJUSTMENT This rate schedule is predicated upon a power factor
of 85% or higher at the time of maximum On-Peak kW. In situations where the required
power factor is not maintained, the registered or computed On-Peak kW demand will be
increased by one percent for each one percent by which the power factor is less than 85%.

WHOLESALE POWER COST ADJUSTMENT (WPCA) All stated energy rates are
subject to a monthly wholesale power cost adjustment (WPCA).

PAYMENTS Bills are due when rendered and are payable within 20 days. If a bill is not so
paid, PWC has the right to suspend service in accordance with the service regulations.
TAX Applicable North Carolina Sales Tax will apply.
