Santander Universities Retail and Smart Card Internship Initial 6 Month Period

Start: Immediate
Salary: 16,653 pro rata
Role Description
The purpose of this role is to support the Retail Team and Smart Card Coordinator in the
planning and co-ordination of a range of retail support functions as well as the development of
the Santander Smart Card.
A summary of potential work areas are listed below:
Coordinator Responsibilities

Act as the central point of contact for both the Regional Managers and the Branch
Managers
Provide consistent and proactive administrative support including co-ordination of
people processes, diary management, cost management, report collation and
analysis, preparation for meetings, events and communication activities.
Take ownership for a range of operational activities within the Universities Division
Support and proactively contribute to the delivery of ad hoc projects within the
Universities Division
Prepare MI and presentation packs for Regional Mangers and the Divisional Manager
on a variety of areas such as risk, customer satisfaction, recruitment, training and
events.

Smart Card Responsibilities

Assisting the project team with implementation of the smart card at new universities
in 2015.
Prepare daily MI and reporting to be sent out to both internal and external
stakeholders.
Agreeing objectives and carrying out risk assessments
Attend design meetings to understand the scope of the project and identify critical
paths.
Gather and evaluate requirements of any internal development work and prioritise in
accordance with business needs

Excellent numerical skills are essential
Self-starter able to work on own initiative
Well organised with attention to detail
Ability to work to deadlines
Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
Analytical/diagnostic/judgement skills to make decisions and effectively solve
problems
Ability to use Office Programmes with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint is
particularly important
Ability to identify issues early and implement plans for resolution
Punctuality and good time management
The ability to work well within a small team

Applicants must have already graduated from university prior to applying and previous
experience within retail or banking is preferred but not essential.
