Vern May will officially start his new position

as Minnedosas Economic Development Officer
on Tuesday, February 17th.
By ASHLEY HANKS

ern May was recently chosen as Minnedosas new

Economic Development Offi cer. Having come from
the same position in Souris, he knows the challenges of
the position, along with what residents of Minnedosa are
looking for in terms of how he is going to take his position
here and make a difference to this community.
Born and raised in Souris, May comes from a well
travelled background after being a professional wrestler
for 20 years. Being Vance Nevada meant being an independent entrepreneur and self-promoter and making the
most noise on the smallest budget possible, stated May.
In the last three years as a wrestler, he held the position of Vice President of Economic Development, working with wrestling operations, talent relations, sponsorships and press releases. All of these things are challenges
and skills that are directly transferable to his current EDO
position.

The Towns sidewalk sweeper was out clearing snow from Main Street sidewalks bright
and early Wednesday morning following Tuesdays snowfall. The sweeper, purchased a few years ago
by the Town, has been a beneficial piece of machinery during the snowy season. The Town crew has
been doing a great job of keeping our sidewalks and walking trails clear of snow this winter.
