Social Aspect Activities
1. LG Hope Series (LG Hope Family & LG Hope Village)
Since 2009, LGE has operated this program in association with the
UN World Food Programm to help those in need in developing
countries cope with the impacts of climate change and establish
self-sustainable livelihoods
2. LG Hope Screen
Since 2012, LGE has operated their Times Square digital billboard to
raise public awareness of global issues such as poverty eradication
& environmental protection.
3. Life's Green Class
LGE offers this class in order to educate children on the importance
of the environment & help them practice a green lifestyle.
4. Global Social Contribution
This program comes from the initatives of volunteers from each
country. They gather and do some social actions for the community
around them. Some of the arising programs that still continuing are
Korea_LG IT Angels, South & Central America_LG Creating Smiles
Campaign, Indonesi_LG Sound of Guidance.

Environmental Aspect Activities


1. GHG Emission Reduction
LGE set a target to reduce 60.000 tons of GHG emissions in 2013
accross their business site, and exceeded the target by 140.000
tons through expanding investment in high efficiency
equipment&facilities.
2. Green Partnership
Green Program Plus is a sustainability management program for
their supply chain, and help them respond to regulation on
managing hazardous substances.
3. Product Life Cycle Assesment
This program accurately measure the environment impact
associated with all the stages of the product.
4. Packing Improvement
The company actions such as making reusable packing box and
making packages greener by changing design, product specification,
and developing customized box.
5. Energy Conservation
The company completed lighting retrofit projects at four majors
locations in 2013.

1. Marketing based on customer insight
In order to further establish LGE as a premium brand and to form
stronger emotional bonds with their customers, they're sponsoring a
wide range of internationally celebrated sporting events&sports
team, such as Bayer 0.4 Bundesliga.
2. Supplier Selection
LGE strengthened its potential and new supplier registration process
to include an assesment of CSR issues.
3. Supplier Training
In order to strengthen green partnership with supplier, LGE provides
annual training on green technology and compliance response. By
doing this, company can improve the quality of their product
resulting from the suppliers material and increase their credibility
from the customer point of view.
4. Win-Win Growth Practice
The objectives of this practice are:
- support for capability improvement, profit sharing, consulting
& partnership with overseas company
- localization, joint R&D
- No interest/low interest and guarantee support
- free training program
