RATIONALE:
Most students in the College of Engineering have been wanting to have a college night done in Prom Style just like what
other colleges (CHM, COED, CCS) do every year. This college night gives a college of eight divisions to be united, welldressed, socialized and empowered as one. Knowing our unique culture we practice and live by everyday as we go to
school, this JS Prom Style theme for college night is seen as inconsistent to the masculine and astig appeal of the
college. To bridge this gap, the Engineering Student Council (2014-15) has drafted and proposed a College Night Film
Fest where in it would serve the purpose of uniting the college.
This film fest is a showcase of creativity, acting, visual talent and theatrical arts. Moreover, the event is also themed to be
the Victory Party of the of College for all the accomplishments made for the first semester (even if we were number 1 for
only 48 hours). Furthermore, this could serve as an avenue for hidden talents and potential to be shown over a big
audience. Themed with an Oscar setting, each engineering student and teacher shall be invited for free food and free
viewing. The student may also have the chance to win a prize through a raffle. These freebies are in return of the excess
money collected by the council for the second semester since we are sufficiently funded (ESC projects already accounted
for) as stated in the proposed budget.
