I will be coordinating a slow-build campaign. You will be allowed 1000pts of units
from a chosen army (standard force org, single detachment). This will be your starting force, and you will select from this pool to make 500pt armies to play games in the early part of the campaign. No special characters, toughness 7+, flying models, 2+ invulns, armor 14, lords of war/super heavies, forgeworld, or artifact equipment allowed in your starting force. As the campaign progresses, the battles will get larger, and you will gain access to new units. Participating in battles will give you points to purchase new units and equipment for your pool. You must name all of your characters. Characters will progress using an rpg-style system. Psychic powers and warlord traits are permanent (will go into more detail later). Through surviving battles, completing missions, making discoveries, and accomplishing heroic feats, your units will gain experience and traits that improve their performance in combat. To encourage tactical play, if a unit or hero gets destroyed in battle, there will be penalties depending on how badly they were killed, such as loss of gear or traits, rescue/revival missions, bench time, and in extreme cases, permadeath (I will try my best to be fair and make sure everyone has a good time, but if you let your commissar get eaten by a carnifex in single combat, chances are he isnt coming back, but you never know). This is a general outline of everything. Having painted models is a plus, but not required. Everyone who is interested in participating in the campaign post here with what faction you will be playing, and I will put you on the roster. As far as materials go, everyone needs a 3 ring binder to keep campaign stuff in, and something to write with. Once I hear back from enough people, I will get started coordinating games. A story for the campaign will be posted soon. Until then, make a CLEAN draft of your starting force with all equipment and points values listed, and put it in your binder. Post questions here!
