Allen-Bradley I-Sense Power Meter and

I-Grid Network

The Allen-Bradley I-Sense power meter provides vital data that pinpoints power events,
reveals the relationship between voltage sags and downtime situations, and certainty of
knowing the cause, making it easier to take fast, appropriate and targeted action to get
operations up and running with minimal mean-time-to-repair.
The I-Sense meter is cost-effective, easy to use and easy to install. The meter transmits power
quality event data to I-Grid servers via an Ethernet or modem connection. That data is
collected, analyzed and sent to subscribers in the form of Grid Alert event notifications
giving users the ability to view detailed power quality event data and reports anytime,
anywhere.
Grid Alert subscriptions provide access to information about the power quality in and around
a facility, from any Internet connection and Web browser. The I-Grid network offers
corroboration of the data from individual I-Sense monitors with other area I-Sense monitors
to provide a clear picture of power events.

Motor Control

Allen-Bradley ArmorStart LT distributed motor control expands on the distributed motor

control family with the addition of DeviceNet technology, an internally sourced power supply,
daisy-chain gland kits and source brake. DeviceNet technology along with EtherNet/IP
ensures faster, reliable communication from top floor to shop floor. The internal power supply
eliminates the need for control-power cabling and the daisy-chain gland kits help to minimize
24V DC volt sag. Both of these produce better performance and greater reliability. The source
brake allows control of the motor mechanical brake, ideal for lift applications to avoid loads
from falling.

The Allen-Bradley Guardmaster SC300 is a Type 3 vision-based protective device designed for
use in a variety of machine guarding applications. It is specifically targeted to light and
medium industrial machine guarding applications which have a square or rectangular frame
in front of the hazardous area, and an environmental rating requirement of IP54. The sensing
function is performed by the SC300 viewing a two-dimensional image against a passive
pattern as the background. The detection principle is that the view of the pattern is blocked
by an object of the appropriate resolution (24mm or 30mm).

Allen-Bradley 45CRM Contrast Sensor

The Allen-Bradley 45CRM is a photoelectric contrast sensor that reliably detects registration
marks on a web. This sensor features red, green, and blue emitter LEDs. During the teach
process the sensor determines which of the emitter LEDs maximizes the contrast between the
registration mark and the web (background). The teach process is completed using a simple

Allen-Bradley Integrated Linear Thruster

The new Allen-Bradley LDAT-Series integrated linear thruster from Rockwell Automation is
the first commercially available moving magnet iron core linear motor actuator with a built-in
linear guide to carry a load. To produce a high speed, load-bearing linear actuator today,
many machine and equipment builders invest a good deal of time and money to design a
mechanism with rotary-to-linear motion conversion. With the LDAT thruster, machine
builders get high-speed, load-bearing linear motion out-of-the-box. Doing away with power
transmission components such as couplings, gear boxes, and other motion conversion
mechanisms also saves energy by avoiding frictional losses attributed to these components.
The motor combines high velocity, up to 5 meters per second as well as high levels of
acceleration. Peak thrust forces range from 187 to 4,306 newtons. It also helps improve
reliability and makes maintenance easier by reducing the number of wear items typically used
in such applications.

Allen-Bradley Motion Analyzer 7.0

Software

Allen-Bradley Motion Analyzer 7.0 software from Rockwell Automation includes updates to
help machine and equipment builders improve time-to-market and automation productivity,
with an enhanced user-experience. The tool helps machine builders more quickly design,
develop and deliver machines with the ability to analyze, optimize and simulate a motion
control system. Motion Analyzer integrates with SolidWorks from Dassault Systmes to help
users simulate the physics of a moving system, calculate torque and inertia, and generate
digital prototypes. In the latest version of Motion Analyzer, a new tuning simulation feature
models the dynamic performance of a load. In addition, improved 3D mechanical CAD
models, hosted on 3D Content Central, provide a more accurate level of detail for simulation,
making better product designs. To improve automation productivity, Motion Analyzer
software is now able to import and export motion system data to and from RSLogix 5000
software as an .L5X file saving design and commissioning time.

Although the analog and temperature options are currently available on the existing DIO
product family, they require an additional communication adapter due to its modular type.
Unlike the previous offering, the new 1732E analog and temperature blocks with embedded
dual-port EtherNet/IP switches offer a much smaller footprint, higher accuracy and
conversion rate. These new analog and temperature blocks greatly enhance On-Machine
solutions.
Rockwell Automation will be among the first in the market to offer IP67 Analog/Temperature

network adapter. For customers, this means lower cost and better performance in terms of
response time and accuracy.

connections to EtherNet/IP-enabled programmable automation controllers provides for realtime transfer of up to 4,000 words. All serial ports are individually configurable.
Benefits include fast Real-Time Data acquisition, tight integration with RSLogixTM 5000, flexible
communication methods, Disaster Recovery support, as well as remote configuration and
diagnostics. The PLX30 line of gateways will be offered with additional protocols in the future.

MX Series Multiplexer

MX-Series Multiplexers are designed to transmit up to 16 channels of bi-directional electrical

information over a pair of fiber optic cables. MX-Series feature input/output module
selections that include 4-20mA, 0-10Vdc, contact closure and RS-232/485. No programming is
required, and installation does not require an engineer. MX-Series carries the relevant
certifications for use in hazardous environments (ATEX, CE and FM), making it perfect for
applications that include remote data acquisition and signal transmission in lightning-prone
locations and hazardous areas.

Multi-Channel Contact Closures

Multi-Channel Contact Closures convert up to 10 contact closure inputs (switches, relays, etc.)
into fiber-optic signals for transmission over a single fiber-optic link. Upon activation of the
inputs, the receiver module receives the transmitted signals and de-energizes a
corresponding, on-board relay operating in a fail-safe mode for switching critical systems.
Each of the transmit modules includes two inputs, and is capable of multiplexing up to 10
inputs by cascading additional dual channel input modules. An integrated backplane allows
for communications between modules with no external intermodular connection.

ACCELENS (ACS) Inclinometers

POSITALs popular ACCELENS (ACS) inclinometers are available in two major versions. The first
of these is designed primarily for industrial environments and features tough fiber-reinforced
PBT plastic housings and fully-encapsulated electronic components. These devices can stand
up to rough handling, prolonged exposure to UV radiation, dust, immersion or even highpressure water jets (IP 69K). Ideal for factory environments, they are equally suitable for
medical equipment, transportation vehicles or renewable energy systems.

MLX100 Robot Gateway

The MLX100 Robot Gateway, now available with conveyor tracking, enables the control and
programming of Motoman robots from the ControlLogix platform. For the first time
companies can deploy and support a broad range of robots with their existing staff and take
ownership of the robot software.
The robots are programmed through intuitive Add-On Instructions (AOIs) within RSLogix.
Optimum performance is maintained by using proven kinematics solutions and drives
matched to the robot servos. Compatible robots range from 4- to 7-axes, with payloads from
2-300 kilograms and a reach over 3 meters.
The ability to program the robot from within RSLogix software opens new possibilities for
packaging machine OEMs, integrators and end users. Using PAC/PLC language, the MLX100
allows users to program, deploy and support robotic system solutions utilizing their existing
in-house expertise.
