A load w=300 N is supported at A by a system of four chords as

shown in fig1. Determine the force in each chord for equilibrium.

Two spherical shells rest between two vertical faces as shown in
fig2. The radius of the smaller shell is 10 cm and its weight is 36 N. The
radius of the larger is 15 cm and its weight is 120 N. The distance
between the two faces is 45 cm. assuming the reactions at the points
A,B,C and D are normal to the surfaces ,find the magnitude of the
reactions at A,B,C and D.

A String ABCD attached to two fixed prints A and D has two

equal weights 1000 N


attached to it at B and C. The weight rest with the portions AB and
CD inclined at angles of 30 o and 60o

respectively, to the vertical as

shown in fig 1. Find the tensions in the portions AB, BC and CD of


the string, if the inclination of the portion BC with the vertical is
120o.
