A. Guidelines for Teams

1. All the teams shortlisted for main event are asked to submit their complete design report.
2. This design report must include the 100% complete design details as presented during virtual round. All the
parameters must be elaborated with sufficient details for evaluation purpose. This document shall be referred
during design evaluation at the time of main event.
3. The design report must be prepared in the given format only. Any queries regarding format must be sent to
Efficycle Technical Committee at efficycle.technial@gmail.com
4. Teams are advised to send their complete report before last date of submission. After that, no report will be
accepted.
5. A penalty of 50 marks shall be applied for non-submission or late submission of design report.
6. Design Report must be submitted to efficycle.reports@icat.in only with subject name Team ID_Design
Report_Team Name and file name Team ID_Design Report_Team Name.
7. Do not send the design report to any other email ID until and unless published on Efficycle official website or
informed by Technical Committee. If sent to other email IDs, teams shall be solely responsible for any
loss/misuse of report data.

B. Last Date of Submission

Last date of Design Report submission is Sunday 03rd August, 2014 5:00PM.
It is advised to send the report a sufficient time before the deadline to avoid any connectivity issues. Any request for
extension of timeline shall not be entertained.

C. Format of Design Report

Design Report will be of maximum 12 pages (including cover pages, pictures, charts etc). This should be a
single file of maximum file size 5MB in Portable Document Format (.pdf) only. In no case any other files
like CAD models, videos are acceptable along with the design report.
There are total 8 pages excluding cover page to describe whole design report and rest 3 pages are given for
images (i.e. images of CAD model, subsystems, drivetrain, FEA/simulation, sketches of vehicle etc). Teams
should use Times New Roman font with font size 11 and line spacing 1.15 on all A4 pages. Only white
background (no image/ watermark etc) is allowed in design report.

1. Cover page:
Cover page format is specified in this format itself at page-1. Teams should give their proper details in the space
mentioned. Team/college logo can be displayed at the mentioned space only.

2. Report Details:
Design report should be a complete document describing all details of the whole project. This document should
include following points in the following order only. (Maximum 8 pages)

Abstract: Teams are advised to provide the summary of their project mentioning all highlights
including introduction of their vehicle, targets, methodology, various approaches adopted in the
complete designing of Efficycle. (not more than half a page)
Technical Specifications of Vehicle: This will include the all features and technical details of the
vehicle, Performance Targets (all details in tabular format)

Project Plan: Project plan should include the break-up of various activities of project. This is advisable
to show a visible week-wise detailed plan in report.
Design, Calculations and selection of following (clearly stating the selection procedure, calculations,
comparisons and selected option out of various alternatives taken into consideration)
a. Frame configuration, design and material
b. Drivetrain (including motor and speed control arrangements, human power drive, battery etc.
*An explanation of power accumulation must be given in this section.
c. Steering, Suspension and Brakes
d. Wheels and Tyres
e. Seating arrangement, Seat design and features
f. Safety provisions for the safety of vehicle, its occupants and bystanders
g. Other features of vehicle (if any)
Ergonomic features
Innovations (with complete details and calculations)

3. Pictorial Presentation:
Teams can provide the pictorial illustrations of their vehicle upto a maximum of 3 separate pages (minimum 4
photos per page) at the end of report. However, pictures can also be included within the report details (as
specified in section 2 of Part-B) but this doesnt allow exceeding more than specified number of pages for
Report Details. These illustrations can include following:
