Formed

in 2012, Trick is a Pop duo consisting of singer, songwriter, producer Marc Lian and
rapper, songwriter Richard Jansen. The duo met at a point when both were equally jaded,
onset by misadventures with their respective music careers. However it was through this
parallel that the duo formed and bonded over.

Based in Southeast Asia, Singapore, they have set about crafting original and cover songs with
a unique and captivating sound that draws on the modern and older styles of R&B, Pop, Hip
Hop, Electro and Dancehall.


Trick has performed live alongside international artistes such as BIGBANG (Korea), Siti
Nurhaliza (Malaysia), Kit Chan, Stefanie Sun, Jersey Boys, Kyle Patrick, SKarf (Korea) , M.I.B
(Korea), Jay Park (USA/Korea), SHAE (Indonesia) and more.

Trick's modus operandi combines a mix of sweet saccharine Pop and the urban vibe of Hip
Hop/Rap. A perfect example is found in their debut single 'BPM' released in summer 2012 and
their latest release Sunshine, currently storming the airwaves on local radio; the likes of
98.7FM & Class 95. It's only natural how this blend of genres occurs when we inspect Richard's
influences which includes T.I., Flo Rida, B.o.B and on the other side of things Marc's influences,
Michael Jackson, Nirvana, Max Martin and Dr. Luke.
Individualistic in their ideals, they produce all of their music themselves with Marc as point
man in the studio. Fresh off their Mediacorp SG 50 Countdown event, Trick whos currently
signed to Sony Music are in the midst of completing their third single under the label. The duo
team is giving all they've got into the songs, their next Single release will certainly not
disappoint.
