Obtaining a License

1Click on Programs > SuperGeo >


License Verifier.
2Select a product you would like to obtain a
license for.
3Select Floating License or Desktop
License. For Desktop License, you only
need to connect to the Internet while first
obtaining a license. For Floating
License, you need to connect to the
Internet every time when you start
anyone product of SuperGeo.

Quick Start

License Status
Before obtaining a license, you can see
the license status of your software through
clicking Status.
1Click on the software of which you would
like to see the license status, and then
click on the Status. The license-status
window will popup.
2Through the license-status window, you
may know:
Type: the ways to obtain a license.
Desktop means a desktop license;
Floating means a floating license
Feature: a licensed software.
Expires: If your software is an
official version, the expiration will show
unlimited, as presented in the red
square. If your software is a trial
version, the expiration will show the
expiry date, as presented in the
green square.
3If there is no license for a selected
software, a window of License
Unavailable will popup, as presented in
the following figure. This means that you
have to continue the following steps to
obtain a license.

How to Obtain a Desktop License


1 Click on Programs > SuperGeo >
License Verifier.
2 Click on the product you want to get the
license and Desktop License.
3 Click on Next to display the Desktop
License dialog.
4 In the Desktop License dialog , click on
Input serial number to get license file
from SuperGeo, and then input the
serial number in the editbox.
5 Click on Finish.
6 If you get the license successfully, the
Receiving license file succeeded
window will be shown.

7 Click on OK to finish getting the license.


Note 1: Please connect your pc to the internet.
License Verifier will retrieve the valid license
through the internet.
Note 2: For SuperPad, you will have two serial
numbers. One is for desktop version (SuperPad),
the other is for mobile device (SuperPad for CE).
Note 3: It's necessary to connect your mobile
device to the desktop before getting the valid
license for SuperPad CE version.

How to Obtain a Floating License


1Click on Floating License.
2Click on Next.
3You can assign the servers location
through the IP address or domain name.

4Click on Finish.
5After assigning the servers location, if the
window of Figure 5 shows up and you
cannot successfully obtain a license, this
may be because of:
(1) The problematic Internet access:
please confirm the internet access is
working.
(2) A wrong IP address or domain name or
a not-existing server. Please confirm
and reset the IP address or domain
name.
(3) Not installing the License Manager
yet.
(4) The block of firewall. Please shut down
the firewall on the server or make sure
the port (7700) of firewall is
connectable.

Activate License Manager


1Click on programs to open SuperGIS
2.0 folder, and then click on License
Manager.
2Please input the serial number in the
Serial Number box. You can find the
serial number from your product
certificate.

3Click on OK.
4If successfully obtaining a license, the
License Manager window will show up.
5You can review the numbers of licenses of
that serial number on the License
Services page.

6Click on Start to start license services.


Note: Please connect your computer to the
Internet. You need to activate the software on
your computer through the Internet.

Quick Start

Review License Status


1Click on the License Status tag.
2You can review available licenses of your
products on this page.
3Click on Update to re-obtain available
licenses.
For example:
When we obtain a SuperGIS license
(Floating License) through License Manager,
we can see the renewed license status.
1We can see the number of available
licenses of SuperGeo SuperGIS v2.0
becomes from 19 to 20.

2At the same time, you can obtain or


cancel an Extension license for
SuperGIS authorized computer through
the Extension Manager of SuperGIS.
Note: If the number of available licenses of a
product is 0, then it means there is no more
available license for this product. Other
computers cannot use this product unless other
authorized computers give up their licenses of
this product, such as to shut down SuperGIS or
to cancel an obtained Extension license.

Re-obtaining a License
1Click on the License Services tag.
2Click on Reset License and the Serial
number box will popup.

3Re-input your serial number, and then click


on OK to confirm to the new serial
number.
