Program Description
This activity is designed for neurosurgeons and
neurotologists interested in learning the microanatomy,
surgical approaches and dissection techniques of
modern skull base surgery. This three day, intensive,
hands-on microdissection course will provide each
participant with the opportunity to perform the
various surgical skull base approaches. This workshop will consist of didactic lectures, video demonstrations and hands-on anatomical dissection.
Program Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be
able to:
n Have a clear knowledge of the surgical anatomy
relevant to orbitozygomatic, cavernous sinus,
middle cranial fossa transmastoid, jugular
foramen and transpetrosal skull base
approaches
n Perform various skull base approaches and
microsurgical dissections with refined skull
base instrumentation
n Apply these advanced skull base techniques to
clinical cases with various cranial base lesions
Course Features
n Three days intensive dissection practice with
specially prepared whole head specimens
n Silicone injected arteries and veins in specimen
n Fifteen dissection tables with Zeiss high
resolution inclinable microscopes
n High performance Anspach pneumatic drill
system
n Refined Fukushima skull base instruments from
NMT Neuroscience, SEC, PMT, and
Mizuho America
n Highest quality Neuro-Skull Base Microplates by
W. Lorenz for reconstruction
Acknowledgment
The organizers express their appreciation to the
following companies who provided unrestricted
educational grants in support of this activity;
