SOLAS THREAD

RULES AND
REGULATIONS
UPDATED 2/25/2015

1. Participant must agree to all rules and regulations as set forth and agreed upon in this
document, which can change at any time as per majority consensus.
2. Participant agrees to love Solas unconditionally, above all others, except in the cases
detailed below:
1. Participant may simply like Solas.
2. Participant may simply find Solas interesting.
3. Participant may not like Solas at all, but be willing to discuss Solas in a mature,
reasonable fashion.
3. The Solas thread is a shared learning environment. Everyone is expected to contribute.
Lurkers are permitted, as long as they only lurk for a specified amount of time before
introducing themselves. Introduced lurkers are permitted a minimum of two posts per
week.
4. Participants in the Solas thread are required to practice patience. If someone has not liked
or quoted your post within 48 hours you are permitted to bring it back up once to try again.
You can not fish for likes multiple times in one day.
5. All participants who wish to post any art, manipulations, photos, stories, or any other form
of media for the thread to share MUST SOURCE THE ORIGINAL OWNER. There are to be no
exceptions to this rule, ever. You are also required to tag anything NSFW or anything that
may have offensive triggers.
6. Participants are allowed two off-topic posts per day in posts that do not reference Solas.
Any and all posts that reference Solas are acceptable, even if the bulk of the post is offtopic.
7. Before you post, please consider asking yourself the following question: Am I making a post
that is either informative, funny, or at all interesting? Note* You are not required to have
anything of substance to post when replying.
8. This thread pracitices contained combat. This means any and all internal complaints,
arguments, and general nastiness are solved by mutual respectful conversation and are
done so internally. We involve the moderators are little as possible, unless any of the
following occur:
a) racism or racial slurs b) any comments that are homophobic in nature c)
indecent/graphic artwork or photos that are not properly tagged d) other gross nasty stuff
normal humans should not do, like use offensive slurs or terms.
9. Participants are asked to avoid doing the following:
a) take anything too seriously
b) take anything too personally
c) take anything too offensively
10. Particpants are asked to practice healthy forum behaviors, such as:
a) praciticing civility
b) praciticing humility
c) praciticing a good sense of humor.
11. We ask that if you are unsure if someone is being passive aggressive torward you or if you
think someone has been sarcastic, ask that person to clarify their tone before assuming one

way or another.
12. Participants are asked to generally avoid being gigantic sticks in the mud.
13. Participants are asked to be as understanding as possible regarding conversation that
involves things that may be deeply personal, such as religion.
14. People who feel strongly about personal topics must try to be as understanding as possible
about others with other viewpoints.
15. Solas is not your husbando. Whatever that is.
16. Participants must understand that just because they have an opinion does not make it the
most important opinion being discussed. No one person in this thread has a better opinion
on a debatable subject than anyone else.
17. Participants are required to read and memorize the thread cycle chart, along with the
request off policy.
18. Participants are asked to try to have a lot of fun discussing Solas, looking at the pretty art,
having really awesome theoretical conversations, and enjoying everyone's varied
personalities.
