Journal Background
The yearbook Ephemeris Napocensis started to be edited in 1991 at the same time with the
setting up of the new research unit of the Romanian Academy, Institute of Archaeology and History of
Art Cluj-Napoca. The journal housed during the last twenty years many studies and articles written by
Romanian and foreign researchers in the field of archaeology and ancient history as well as epigraphy
and numismatics, covering a large chronological frame, from Prehistory to the Early Middle Ages. It is
indexed by Romanian Research Authority (CNCS)-B category, as well as by other international
databases, as SCOPUS, Index Copernicus and is under review at ESF.

How to Submit
Submissions to the journal are by invitation only. If you will agree to send a manuscript please
reply to this e-mail address. The general timeline schedule intended for publishing is the following:
a. Invitation
b. Acceptance notification and submission of the title: before February 15th
c. Final version submitted to the editors: before July 1st.
d. Reviewing process: before August 15th.
e. Printed version: before December 15th.
Submission rules
It is important that the principles of copyright and plagiarism are entirely observed by the
authors. An invited paper may not be published for the journal if the extension is not satisfactory and the
new form is not at the expected standard of quality. Conditions for an extended version of published
papers are presented below:
- The journal publishes papers in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
- Every contribution must be accompanied by five keywords and ten lines abstract which should
be placed after the title and the author(s)s name.
- The text of the article must be typed at 1.5 lines using the font Times New Roman 12.
- The footnotes will be typed at single line using the same font, size 10.
- The title of the article will be typed with capital letters, font Times New Roman 14, bold and
centred
- The author(s)s name(s) shall be typed in capital letters, font Times New Roman 12, bold,
centred, two lines spacing under the title.
- At the end of the article, the author(s) will type his/their name(s), affiliation and e-mail address.
- Italics will be used for Latin terms. For special fonts, the authors are asked to send as separate
file the font they have used (format *.ttf).
Quotations:
The notes are placed at the bottom of each page, no matter if there is one work cited or there are
some comments, too.
The quotation system is the one used by the Bericht der Rmisch-Germanische Kommission.

All plates will be sent in a *.cdr format (Corel Draw).
The size of page will be B5 (ISO) (176 x 250 mm)
