Who would be the audience for your media product?

We wanted our media product to be targeted to teenagers and young adults, people of a similar age to us. We knew we
wanted to create an action thriller media product and we knew that action thrillers are largely appreciated by teenagers and
adults. Another reason our target audience is teenagers and adults is because when carrying out our research we had our
questionnaire, surveys and feedback given by this age group and so any adjustments and improvements were made to suit
them.. We also felt that although it is targeted to teenagers and young adults, our content did not involve any explicit scenes
or shots and so this allowed us to rate our opening sequence as 15. The protagonist of our film is 6/17 years old so it would
only make sense to target an audience of a similar age group.
Upon researching other action thriller films, such as Taken, The Bourne Identity and Point Break as well as the TV show
Nikita, we found that they were rated differently. The film Taken for example was rated as an 18, whereas the film The Bourne
Identity was rated as a 12A. As the targeted audience was of a similar age to ourselves, we found that creating an interesting
and engaging narrative would have to be what we would be interested in. we used the mentioned films from our research as
inspiration
to our
narrative.
