Summary:
Karan, a bike racer, loved a girl whose name is Rithika but he never dared to
express his love for some reason. One day during a race tournament, he get a head
injury and looses his memories. Uman, friend of Karan, finds Karans diary and
gives it to Rithika and Rithika starts loving Karan. But Karan rejects her love as he
doesnt know about himself and he doesnt remember anyone. Will Rithika wins
Karans heart again is the story

Prolong:
Chapter 1:
I opened my eyes and came to know that I met with a bike accident and got a head
injury and a hand fracture.
People gathers around me and were staring at me.
Doctor asked me Do you recognize people around you?.
All I could remember is my name, Karan and my family members.
I called out my family member names and I pointed them.
My parents felt relief but my friends felt bad as I couldnt recognize them. Doctor
told to my parents that I have lost my memories which happened in the past few
years.
A guy with fair complex and strong body came near me and said dude Im Uman,
your best friend. No problem even if you have forgot your memories. Im sure
everything will go as usual.
For some reason Umans words brought me back to life and I too felt everything
will get back to normal soon.
After 1 week, I was discharged and I returned back to home.
Uman said Hey Karan, we are Engineering students and right now we are in 8th
semester which is our last semester.
I said Oh my god, did I clear all my subjects.
Uman said Stupid, Im the one who is having backlogs. Not you.
I laughed and said Oh sorry.
Uman asked Do you remember any girls name?
I replied No.
Uman said Good.
The next day, I and Uman went to college on his bike.
Everything was new to me at the college and all the students were watching me as
if I came from other planet.

After walking into the campus, Uman showed a girl and asked Do you know her?
I said No, I dont.
Uman said ok fine.
I asked Why did you ask like that?
Uman said You will know soon. By the way, her name is Rithika.
Rithika started heading towards me.
Uman left the place and Rithika asked Do you remember me?
I replied Sorry, I dont remember you.
Rithika left the place crying.
I was so confused what is going around me.
Uman stopped Rithika and told something to her.
When Uman returned I asked Who is she? Why is she crying?
Uman said For the last 2 years, you loved her and she never answered your
question.
I was dumb stuck on hearing that answer from Uman.
I said hey please dont play with me, Uman. Do tell the truth.
Uman said Hey hey I told you the truth.

Chapter 2:
Loves real world:
I came to know that I forgot 7years of my memory so it is natural that Im not
aware of the technology upgrade. I only knew about telephone as far as I
remember.
I find a thing called Smartphone in everyones hand at the college and Im the only
guy who doesnt know how to use a mobile.
Uman tried to teach me how to use a mobile but I use to receive calls by pressing
the green button.
Another thing is the social networking which has changed the face of the world.
People can easily contact each other and easily share their photos and information
using the social networking.
I and Uman reached college on my KTM bike. Uman told me that Im a bike racer
and during a race tournament I met with an accident and lost my memory.
I entered the college building and everyone was busy texting something on their
mobile. Before 7 years, people use to spend time talking to each other directly
rather than texting.
Uman left me in class and went to canteen. In the mean time, Rithika entered the
class and I was shocked to see her in my class.
It was a 3 sitter bench and Rithika came near me and asked Can I sit beside you?
I didnt know what to tell her so I kept quit.
Rithika sat beside me and I dragged myself to other corner of the bench.
After few minutes, Uman came and he pushed me to middle of the bench and he
sat at the corner. I felt very uncomfortable but Rithika was enjoying my company.

Classes were over and I was walking towards parking yard. Rithika came running
and asked Hey Karan, Can you drop me near my house which is on the way to
your house?
I said I need to drop Uman.
Rithika said Uman told me that he got some work so only asking.
My mobile started ringing and it was Uman.
On phone, Uman said Hey buddy, I will be late so you better go. And drop Rithika
at her house. Her scooty got punchered.
I replied Ok fine and he hang the call.
On hearing that ok Rithikas face started glowing and I told to myself ok buddy,
it is just a lift. Not dating.
We both walked till my bike and I wore my bag and got onto my bike and asked
her to sit side wise.
Rithika asked Can I place my hand on your shoulder for support?
I said you can place your hand on my bag.
Rithika said Ok.
I started driving my bike and I was driving the bike at low speed.
Rithika asked How are you now?
I said Im fine. Thank you.
Rithika said Oh good. Then..
I said Ya..
Rithika asked You really forgot my face ahh..?
I said ya, I dont remember anyone from college.
Rithika said Its ok.
I said Can I ask you one question?
Rithika said ya sure, Karan.
I asked Tell me what you know about me. I was asking this question to everyone
so dont take it wrong way.
Rithika said You are a very caring person and you like to live in real world.

I asked Real world means..

Rithika said You dont like social networking.
I said Ya ya..
Rithika said You like bike racing and you dont care for final outcome of a race as
you enjoy what you are doing.
I said You really know a lot about me.
Rithika said Yes I do.. Karan and kept quiet.
Rithika inside Karan, you are the most loveable person for me. You tried to
convey me your love but you failed to show some courage. I was waiting for your
proposal and I will still wait for you.
For some reason I felt that she said something to me and I asked Did you say
anything and Rithika smiled and said Nothing Karan.
I dropped Rithika at her house.
Rithika asked Karan, Can we be friends?
I said Ya sure, Rithika.
A smile appeared on her beautiful face and I felt good.
I said Ok bye, Rithika.
Rithika said You like to use See you instead of bye, Karan.
I said ha ha ya I will remember that.. See you, Rithika.
Rithika said See you, Karan.
I felt good after talking to Rithika, maybe she really knows everything about me
but still I want to be far away from the thing called Love.

Chapter 3:
Lasts forever:
I woke and got ready for college. A beep sound came in my mobile and it was
Uman. Uman kept message that he is not coming to college.
Generally he calls me when he is not coming to college, I guess something went
wrong.
After the college, I went to Umans house. I made a phone call and asked him to
come down.
Uman came down and I greeted hey buddy, how are you?
Uman said Im fine.
I said Ok lets go to caf.
Uman said Not now, karan.
I said You dont talk, just come with me.
Uman agreed and got on to Karans bike.
After reaching caf, I ordered 2 cold coffees and then asked Now tell me, Uman.
What happened?
Uman said Nothing..
I said you cant lie to me.
Uman said I broke up with Sana.
As I forgot my past, I didnt remember who is Sana? So I asked Who is Sana?
Uman scratched his head and said She is my girl friend. Through social network
we became friends 2 years back and later it turned into love.
I asked Oh fine. How many times did you both meet?
Uman said Actually she lives far away in other city and we met 5 times.
I laughed on hearing that.
Uman gave a serious look and I said Hey sorry man.
Uman asked Whats funny in that?
I said Even love has changed in the past 7 years.
Uman asked What do you mean?

I said For you guys, Love means chatting daily on social network and talking daily
through phone. Your both were not loving each other, you both were just giving
company.
Uman said how can you say that?
I said Let me ask few questions. Have you ever had a long walked with her and
talked about each other? Have you ever waited for her arrival with some flowers
and chocolates? Have you ever looked into her eyes and told those golden words?
Have you ever took her close and comforted her when she is in sorrow?
Uman said "no, I have never got the chance."
I said "no matter how much busy you may be? You can sure spend some time for
the person whom you love if you have really loved her."
Uman said "hmm your right.. May be it was not a true love."
I said "according to me, Love means understanding each others hearts. Love is
kind and never wants to hurt others. Love is sharing every feeling; it might be joy
or sorrow. Love is jealous and always wants to be in company of the person
whom they love. "
Uman smiled and said "dude I think you can write a book on it.. By the way tell
me, how you knew all these things about love"
I laughed and said "don't ask me how. It just came out of my heart."
Suddenly a chair drag sound came from back and I turned back and to my surprise
it was Rithika.
I asked Uman "did she listen to our conversation?"
Uman said "may be yes."
I felt very strange at that time.
Actually Rithika was present at cafe before our arrival but I didn't notice her till
the very end.
Rithika left the place after listening to my words.
Rithika inside "Karan, you may have forgotten whom you loved but you still
remember how to love and Im very happy for that." and a tear rolled out of her
eye.

Chapter 4:
Busy generation:
I and Uman were at college and it was sports period.
I asked Uman Does anyone like to play football from our class?
Uman said Ya there are many guys who like to play football.
I got excited and asked Lets have a match then.
Uman said I said they like to play not ready to play now.
I asked What do you mean?
Uman said Everyone is busy hunging with their Smartphones these days. Boys
play multi-player football game in mobile and avoid getting tired. Girls spend
trying new apps or chit-chat on social network in group instead of talking directly.
I said You mean to say that none from the class is interested in outdoor games.
Uman smiled and said You got the point, Karan.
I said Come lets play basket ball since we dont have many players.
Uman said ya its been long time since I have played any game.
We were walking in the corridor and I asked Did I also stop playing game? Uman.
Uman said yes buddy, you too stopped playing.
I asked why did I stop?
Uman said Because you use to spend whole time watching Rithika.
I said May be I forgot something about my past but I want to relive my life with
my precious memories of past.
Uman said Hey cheer up buddy, now you are perfect.
I and Uman were entering Sports room and someone called my name from back.
I turned to see who that was and it was Rithika.
I said Hi Rithika.
Rithika asked Which game did you guys planned to play?
Uman said Basket ball.
Rithika turned towards me and asked You dont know how to play basket ball
na..
I said I want to try new game today.

Rithika asked Can I join you guys?

Uman said This is boys game. And my jaws fell down on hearing that answer.
I thought people forgot how to play games but things went worst, they forgot
what the game is also?
Rithika said to Uman idiot.. girls will also play this game.
Uman said But in NBA games I never saw girls.
I took a deep breath and placed my hand on Umans shoulder and said Hey hey..
Uman, girls can also play this game.
Uman said Oh I think rules have changed now.
Again I took a deep breath and said Leave it buddy.
I turned towards Rithika and said You are welcome to play with us, Rithika. More
the players, more fun will be there.
I greeted our P.T sir and asked Sir we want one basket ball.
P.T sir had a strange look at us as if we come to some museum and asking some
sculpture.
Uman asked Sir, ballll
P.T sir said ahh ya sure, take 3 basket balls. I rarely find students playing games
these days.
I asked Sir can you train us, we want to learn new tricks from you.
P.T sir started crying.
Uman said Karan, I think he too forgot how to play.
Rithika said Hey stop cracking jokes.
P.T sir said These are tears of joy. I feel very happy today.
I said Come on sir, lets start .
P.T sir said ya lets start.
P.T sir first made us run 3 rounds around the basket ball court for warm up.
Uman said Sir, I dont want to learn running.
Rithika got angry and gave a leg break to Uman. Uman fell on the ground and
Rithika gave a angry look at him and sir asked You were telling something.
Uman laughed and said he he.. nothing sir.
I and Rithika looked at each other and laughed.

One thing I like about Rithika is that she can bring any situation under her control.
P.T Sir taught us how to play the game and we started enjoying the game.
We told to sir that we will come to ground every day.
P.T sir said It is my duty. So do come regularly and train well.
We thanked out sir and left the ground.
While we were walking to parking yard, Rithika asked This generation became too
busy na, Karan.
Actually I was also thinking about it and Rithika asked me the same question which
surprised me.
I said yes, Rithika. People have time to chat with their friends online but no time
to meet them. People have time to watch funny videos but no time make a person
smile. People have time to listen others problem but no time to help them.
Rithika said I was expecting same answer from you.
I asked Did I answer this question before?
Rithika smiled and said No.. I said na I know everything about you.
Uman started poking me from behind.
I said Oh thats nice.
Rithika said Hope you also know everything about me.
I reached my bike and I said to myself maybe someday and told see you
Rithika.
Rithika said See you Karan. See you Uman.
Uman said ya see you.

Chapter 5:
Important day for me:
It was August 28th and I returned home after my college was finished. After
reaching home, I got a text message from Uman Hey Karan, I booked tickets for
A walk to remember so be ready.
I was thinking why he selected a romantic movie. I texted him ya ok.
He kept reply good.. see you at theatre.
It was a 2nd show and I went to theatre at 9 oclock.
I was waiting for Uman at the entrance and my mobile beeped with a SMS.
I was stunned after reading the message Hey buddy, I got some work. So Im
sending tickets with my friend.
A voice came from my backside Hi Karan.
I guessed that voice instantly, it was Rithika.
I greeted her hi Rithika, I didnt expect you.
Rithika smiled and said Uman couldnt come. So he gave me the tickets.
I came to a conclusion that Uman wanted me to get close to Rithika.
I said Oh it fine, girls will like this movie for sure.
Rithika said Yes yes. Come on lets go inside.
I waved my head and followed her.
We went inside and the movie was yet to start.
Rithika asked can you take me to Umans house after the movie?
I said Sure, its not a problem.
Rithika said Thank you, Karan.
I just smiled.
The movie started and Rithika was enjoying every scene and sometimes she
staring at me secretly.
Rithika inside I wish I could also have a long walk with you holding your hand like
in the movie.
It was a romantic movie and I kept on maintaining some distance from Rithika to
avoid any physical contact which may make her uncomfortable.

At the end of the movie, the hero comes to know that heroine is suffering from
disease which cant be cured and tears started rolling of eyes without my notice.
Rithika saw me crying and she extended her kerchief.
I cleaned my face with her kerchief and asked how did could you see my tears in
darkness.
Rithika said Because I was also crying.
I laughed and returned her kerchief.
She kept the kerchief very safely in her handbag.
Rithika inside I know how sensitive you are Karan, as we feel things in same
manner.
Movie was over and we both headed to Umans house.
We reached Umans house.
It was 12pm and Rithika asked come inside
I opened the door and there was a gang of all my friends and they shouted Happy
Birthday
I was totally surprise.
Rithika said We know that you dont remember your birthday. So we planned a
surprise party.
Sudden Rithika and my friends made me special person and I felt very happy.
I said Thank you Rithika. I know it was your entire plan.
Rithika said Yes, Karan. and she blushed.
Rithika inside It is a very important date in my life. Without you my life would me
nothing in this world.

Chapter 6:
A little attention:
Rithika called me in the morning and she said Can you take me to beach.
I was thinking maybe I should avoid her but I said Ya sure maybe I wanted to
thank repay the surprise party.
Rithika said Thank you so much.
I dont know why my mind was so determined to keep her far and my heart so
interested in her company.
On the other side Rithika ticked a line in a list Karans wishes: To have a surprise
party, go to beach with Rithika, to have a candle light dinner with Rithika and she
keeps back the list in a diary and that diary belongs to me.
After I was admitted in the hospital, Uman took my notice without my notice and
gave it to Rithika. Actually Uman want to show how much I loved her. The thing is I
actually started writing diary after I met Rithika but after the accident, I didnt
knew that I had an unease-able memory of my past.
When Rithika open my first page she saw Today I met a girl, Rithika (my
classmate). She is a very reserved girl and dont speaks much. I dont know why
but I felt different. May be I fallen in Love with her. Ha ha seems funny. Lets see
what happens next.
She read all the pages and last page was I tried to approach in all ways but she
avoided me. All I wanted is a little attention, Rithika. May be I dont know how to
be smart but I know how to care. Right from my schooling, I was alone. I didnt
have friends till my 16 years. So I decided to find my love who can vanish my
loneliness. I always tried to make you smile. I always took care of you without your
notice. I use to go home once you have reached your home safely. It was me who
use to places a rose in your post box on every month 14th, it was me who sends
your friend to pick up you when you got no transport, it was me who keeps joke
notes in your book as I love to see you smile. I could have told you that it was me
who did all these things but I wanted you to feel my love and thought that one day

you will find me. I was successful in finding my love but failed to reach your heart,
Rithika. I wish if you could have listened to my heart and Rithika cried.
After reading the diary, Rithika decided to win my heart on her own so she didnt
return my diary after I recovered fully.
As Rithika planned, we went to beach and I enjoyed Rithikas company more than
beach on that day. May be I like the way she cares for me.
At the beach, Rithika asked What do you mean by caring?
I was actually thinking about that and she asked me directly.
I said Caring is just like the beach, we feel happy and relaxed when we were
touched by the cool breeze from sea. Similarly, when we are cared by someone
whom we like then we get to experience a special kind of feeling.
Rithika said It is so nice to be cared, right.
I said Yes, Rithika.
Rithika inside I hope you can feel my caring heart now.
I thought I heard something and asked Did you say something?
Rithika smiled and said ha ha.. no, Karan

Chapter 7:
Racing fan:
It was bike race championship at college and I also participated in it.
Uman met me at bikes start position and said Hey you must defend your title,
buddy.
I said Ya sure, Uman.
Rithika also came and extended her hand to wish me and said Be careful.
I said Thank you.
The race was about to start my serial number was 14 and a bike racer with 13
serial numbers stopped near me and said This time I will beat you in the race,
Karan and left the place. To my surprise it was a girl voice and I started thinking
who this girl is.
I took a long breath and said Come on, Karan. You need to defend your title.
The race started and there were 10 laps. Initially each racer is allowed to drive
alone and the person who finished the track in less time will take the lead position.
I got the 2nd place and that 13 number girl got lead position.
The race started and she kept the lead position till the 7th lap and while racing
suddenly I felt something strange I started remembering few of my drag stunts.
May be racing was a part my life which cant be forgotten. I performed the drag
and took the lead. While I was performing the drag, Uman and Rithika stood up
and were surprised. I finished the race with lead position.
Uman and Rithika came running towards me at the finish line. I thought they were
coming to congratulate me. Uman asked Hey, how did you perform that drag. Did
you get your memory back?
Rithika asked Tell Karan.
I said I came out from nowhere. What is the specialty?
Uman said It is your signature stunt. In the entire race, only you can do that.
I smiled and said Wow thats cool.
Rithika inside Hope you have my memories within you.

While I was talking to Uman, a racing glove came and hit me on my forehead. It
was that 13 number girl. She removed her helmet. Uman said Here comes the
devil and your fan. I was shocked.
The girl said Again you performed your signature drag ha But I loved it. with an
angry look.
I was confused what to say.
Uman said Let me introduce her. Her name is Kavya, the college beauty and a
racer like you.
Kavya gave a punch to Uman and said I can introduce myself.
Uman said Cant you tell that through words?
Kavya caught my hands and said Hi Karan, Im your big fan of you at college.
Please let me be your girl friend.
What was more shocking to me is that how can a beautiful girl be so violent and
why this girl is after me.
I said Hi Kavya, you were great on the track. I appreciate your skills.
Kavya said You know Im happy that your racing skills are back.
I smiled and said Oh thank you.
Rithika said Karan, lets go to canteen.
Kavya took a look at Rithika.
I could feel that without even talking they were able to exchange their words
OMG.
I said Hey come everyone. Lets celebrate the victory.
While walking Uman asked Dude do you know Newtons First law.
I said ya, I know. An object that is at rest will stay at rest unless an external force
acts upon it.
Uman said You are experiencing that law, Rithika will start loving you more as
Kavya came into action.
I said But Im not interested in love now.
Uman laughed and said I know more about you.
I said Buddy, first time I felt that I wish I could get back my memory back as I
dont know how to tackle these kinds of things.

Uman smiled and said Yes, old Karan was a king in managing these kinds of
situations. Ha ha.
We reached canteen and I was made to sit in between Rithika and Kavya and I was
feeling very uncomfortable. Kavya asked Rithika When did you both become
friends?
Rithika said After Karan met with an accident.
Kavya said to Karan Sorry, Karan. I was not here when you met with accident. So I
couldnt come. Actually I came here 2 days back.
Rithika inside Thank God that you didnt come or else he would have forgotten
everything.
I said Its ok.
Kavya asked Did you say something? Rithika.
Rithika smiled and said He he nothing
I could easily understand that smile.
Uman inside Now the real fun starts ha ha

Chapter 8:
Being loved:
Next day at college, Kavya met me and she said Hi Karan. Good morning.
I too said Good morning, Kavya.
Kavya was looking great and everyone in the campus was looking at her.
Kavya was praising me regarding the bike race.
Rithika saw me talking to Kavya and she got fired up. And as she was approaching
towards us, I could feel the heat of anger.
Rithika called me Hey Karan..
Kavya saw Rithika and they gave a weird look at each other.
I sometime feel that girls have a special ability to read others mind.
Kavya said Karan, I will meet you in the evening. I need to talk something
important.
I said Ok sure and she left the place.
Rithika asked What is she telling?
I said She likes my racing skills it seems.
Rithika said Oh ho. You got too many fans, better be careful with them.
I didnt understand what Rithika said but I replied ya sure. Thank you.
Rithika said Now come, class is about to start.
I said Ya ya.. Lets go.
As Rithika and I entered the class, everyone congratulated me for yesterdays race.
Rithika and I sat in 3rd bench. Uman was already sitting in the class said Its good
to see you together.
Rithika blushed and I just smiled.
During the last period, I got slept in the class and Rithika wrote my notes also.
When the last bell rang, I got up and asked is this the last bell?
Uman said No, tomorrow morning it will again ring till then you sleep here.
Rithika said Yes, It is the last bell, Karan.
We three were walking towards parking yard and suddenly a bike came and
stopped in front of us. Uman said Not you again.
Kavya removed her helmet and said I told you to meet me right.

Rithika said Where you both planned to go?
I said She just asked me to meet her.
Kavya said Take your bike and follow me.
I said ok fine.
Uman said Take care dude. Return home safely.
Kavya said He is not a girl, Stupid.
Uman said He is my best buddy, so I have the right to say.
I smiled and said Hey Uman, do drop Rithika at the house. Ok
Uman said ya sure.
I said See you guys.
Rithika had a sad look in her face which I could feel.
Kavya and I left the college and she took me to a nearby lake park.
We both sat on a bench and I asked Whats the matter? Kavya. Do you have
problem?
Kavya said I always wanted to say this you.
I asked What is that?
Kavya said I Love you, Karan.
I was shocked to hear that from her.
I said But I dont love you.
Kavya asked Im the most beautiful girl in our campus. Im also a racer like you.
Then why cant you love me?.
I said As you know, I dont remember my past. Uman told me that I loved a girl
whole heartedly and she didnt care for my love at that time. And now I dont want
to love any girl.
Kavya said I thought you forgot her. Its my bad luck.
I wanted to console her but I didnt know what to tell.
Kavya said You know what? This is my second proposal to you.
I was again surprised to hear that.
I asked What did I say last time?
Kavya said You said the same thing last time also. And she cried out.

I took her close and placed my hand on her shoulder and said Kavya, you are such
awesome girl and Im sure you will find a better guy than me.
Kavya asked Why did you reject Rithikas proposal.
I said I dont know who I was and whom I loved. Love is something which cant be
forgotten. If I really loved her then Im sure my memories will return.
Kavya said I dont regret falling in love with you, as lover like you are rarely
found.
I smiled and said It is getting late. Lets start.
Kavya said I want a race.
I said ha ha fine anything to make my friend happy.
Kavya said Lets race.
Kavya and I had a small race and she wanted me to be her best friend.

Chapter 9:
Real Affection:
Uman and I came to college and were waiting for Rithika.
Uman called Rithika on mobile and asked "why didn't you come today?
You know that we have lab right.."
Rithika said "I got fever so only unable to attend the lab."
Uman said "oh Im sorry.. Take medicines on time."
I asked "what happened?"
Uman said "Rithika is not feeling well. She got fever."
I said "hmmm as far as I know.. She never missed any lab."
Uman said "yes.."
I felt that Rithika were hiding something.
After the lab, I went to Rithika's house but it was locked. I enquired the neighbors
and came to know that Rithika was hospitalized. I took the hospital details and
went there.
I saw Hasini (Rithikas close friend) at the hospital entrance and I asked What
happened to Rithika? Is she fine?
Hasini said She is fine, Karan. Actually yesterday she fell from bike while trying to
learn it.
I was stunned on hearing that reply.
I asked Any fractures..?
Hasini said No, just small injuries.
I got angry and said Why did you stop her?

On seeing me, Rithika jaw fell down which shock.

I said Listen Rithika, I love bike racing and it doesnt mean that I will love the girl

I said I told her to go home.

On that night, I made Rithika eat some food and also made sure that she takes
medicines on time.
I was lying on a bed and reading a story book.
Rithika said Karan.
I turned towards Rithika and said ya Rithika.. tell me.
Rithika asked Which story book are you reading?
I said Sid Short stories, in that For One day story.
Rithika asked Is it a love story?
I said yes..
Rithika asked Then I have a request.
I said Ya tell me..

I said Ok fine.. tell me.
Rithika said Lets play the story characters.. You are the hero and Im the
heroine.
I couldnt say no as I gave her my word.

I didnt expect things to go this way but I was helpless.
I sat beside her and maintained some distance.
Rithika inside Finally I got a chance to make you say I Love you. Yes yes yesss
and was smiling a lot.
We played the characters in the story and we were reading the dialogues out.
I got a line in the story where the boy say I dont know what is love? , but I know
what is care? I dont know what is love? But I know that I can be happy if you are
with me. I dont know what is love? But I know how to make you live a happy life.
Now tell me dear. Will you marry me even if I dont know what love is?
Rithika eyes became wet and she said Yes.
I got worried and said Hey are you alright.
Rithika said Ya Im fine. I will sleep now.

The broken friendship:
Uman and I reached a college. While we were parking the bike Kavya met us.
Kavya said Good morning Karan.
Uman said Good morning.
Kavya said I told to Karan.
Uman said But I told you only.
Kavya gave an angry look.
I got interfered and said good morning Kavya.
Kavya got cool down and smiled.
We walked till class room and Kavya was talking throughout the walk. Uman
plugged in his earphones to avoid it but I didnt have any other option.
Sometimes I feel that girl have bigger memory than boys as they always have lot to
tell to their friends where as boys have large memory for their enjoyment plans.
After entering the class, I saw Rithika and said Hi Rithika.
Rithika said Hi Karan and gave an angry look to Kavya with her eyes and Kavya
also gave reply.
Uman said in my ears This is cold war, if you ever try to interfere you will get
freeze.
I said Im already afraid of these girls, now stop making me more afraid.
Suddenly Kavya called me and asked Can I sit beside you, Karan
Uman kept a sms me telling Finished.. Today you are finished..
I could say no to her, so I asked Uman, can you give your place to Kavya for
today?
Uman said Ya sure. No problem and Uman sat back of us.
I just smiled and Rithika was fully fired up with my reply.

I forgot to bring my pen and I turned back and asked Uman, do you have an extra
pen.
Uman said No buddy with a smile which tells even if I had, I wont give today.
Rithika and Kavya took out pen out of their bag like swords and gave me.
I couldnt refuse anyone so I took both the pens and said Thank you
I started writing with Rithikas pen and Rithika felt very happy.
For every new page I use to change the pens and in between Uman use to text me
Having fun?? ha.. and I would take a deep breath to control my anger.
Whenever we want the time to run fast, it never happens. I spent most of the time
watching the time in my watch as it was very uncomfortable to sit in between two
girls who love you.
Soon after the bell rang, I left the class and Uman joined me.
We went to canteen and sat there.
Uman asked Hey dude, hows your experience?
I gave a punch on his shoulder and said Dont you know my position? Stupid.
Uman laughed and said lets sit like that from tomorrow.
I said No way..
Uman said You know what; Kavya and Rithika were best friends until they met
you.
I was shocked on hearing that asked What did I do?
Uman said Before the accident took place, you loved Rithika and Kavya loved
you.
I said But things changed now, Im gona fix that broken friendship.

I said I will convince Kavya which is easier.

After the college, I met Kavya and asked Kavya, Can we have a talk?

We both sat at the football stadium in college.

I said Kavya, I really dont know what love is but I know what friendship is. I know
that it is not easy to get back the lost friendship but you can at least make a try to

Kavya started crying and said I do miss her friendship but I never got a chance to
tell her.
I said Im there na to help you out. Now stop crying, Kavya.
I took out my mobile from shirt pocket which in call and I asked Did you hear
that? Rithika with loud speaker ON.
Actually I told Uman to give his mobile to Rithika when I call him. After meeting
Kavya, I called Uman so that Rithika can hear the conversation.
Rithika said yes, Karan. Thank you. Can I talk to my best friend?
I said Ya sure.
Kavya said Im sorry, dear. I was jealous of you at that time.
Rithika said Just leave it, Kavya. I just want your friendship back.
Kavya said I promise that I wont leave your friendship ever again.
Rithika said Forget it. Lets have a party.
Uman said Im in.
Kavya smiled and said Ya sure a big one and she hang the call.
Kavya was still in tears and she laid her head on my shoulder and said Thank you
for everything.
I placed my hand on her shoulder and said I told na I will be your best friend and
it is my responsibility to make you smile.
Kavya said I never thought you would care for me this much.
I said Being a best friend is to understand the unspoken words of your friend.
Kavya said So you knew that I was missing her friendship.
I said May be yes.
Kavya said Im so lucky to have a friend like you.
To make her smile, I said Now stop crying, you are making my shirt wet with your
tears. I dont have a spare one.

Give way:
It was a half day and Karan was about to leave and started his bike.
A voice came from back Karan.
Karan looked back and it was Rithika.
Rithika came running and Karan said Hey take a breath I wont leave.. Rithika.
Rithika said ha ha.. thanks.
Karan asked So whats the matter.
Rithika said Can you help me in buying a gift to Kavya? Her birthday is coming.
Karan said Ya sure.
Rithika got on to Karans bike with a jump.
Karan asked Hey you can sit coolly. No hurry.
Rithika said ha ha.. I just got excited in buying a gift to her.
Karan said Good..
Karan and Rithika left the college and they were on the way to a gift shop.
At one junction, an accident took place of an elder person who was riding a bike.
Karan stopped at the accident place and immediately said Hey Rithika, call 108.
Rithika dialed the number and ambulance was on the way.
Rithika said There will be more traffic now and people dont give way to
ambulance.
Karan said Yes, Rithika. People became so selfish in their busy life that they dont
care for others life. Until they get that situation, they would never change.
Rithika said Then do you have any idea.
Karan took a look around the junction and found a traffic police man with a
portable mike with loud speaker. Karan went near the police and had a small
conversation.
Karan came with loud speaker in his hand.
Rithika asked What did you say.
Karan said I said I want to clear the way to ambulance and I submitted my college
ID card for surety.
Rithika said Oh nice.

The ambulance came to the spot and the person got first aid and they started from
the place.
Karan and Rithika decided to escort the ambulance till hospital and help in making
way to ambulance.
Karan was riding the bike and Rithika was holding the load speaker.
A BMW car was not giving way to the ambulance.
Karan said Rithika, keep mike near my face.
Rithika kept mike near his face and Karan said Attention ! Mr. BMW driver..
Please give way to the ambulance or else we gona break your glasses.
Rithika was stunned on hear those words and laughed.
The BMW car gave way immediately and they took the lead.
Karan said Now you do this..
Rithika smiled and said ya ok.
Rithika repeated the same line to proceed.
At one point, a truck was not giving way and Rithika got angry and said Hey you ..
stupid.. idiot truck driver, cant you hear me.. Are you deaf.. give way or else I
will kick you.
The truck driver gave way and Rithika gave a angry look at him.
Karan started laughing on seeing Rithikas anger.
Karan said hey cool down now.. Rithika.
Rithika said stupid fellow
Karan said what did I do?
Rithika said Sorry.. no you.. Karan. I was angry on that truck driver.
Karan said Carry on.. Rithika.. no one can stop us..
Rithika smiled and said Ya.. ya.. and she continued her announcement on mike.
Within no time, they reached the hospital and the elder guy got admitted on time.
The doctor and traffic police appreciated both Karan and Rithika for their work.
Traffic police said Rules are made to protect lives and you can break them if it
saves someones life. I wish every person from youth take your work as inspiration.
Sometime we need to get things corrected by force. You both did a good job.
The doctor intimated that the elder person was out of danger and safe.
Karan and Rithika got relief on hear doctors words.

Chapter 11:
The unknown pain
One night, before going to sleep, Rithika was turning the pages my diary and found
that there were few pages torn at the end of the diary. Rithika called Uman, and
asked him Uman, do you know why the last pages of Karans diary were torn.
Uman said I dont know.
Rithika said I feel that something else happen to Karan to him before the
accident. Can you take me to Karans house when Karan is not at home? I want to
ask Karans mom few questions.
Uman said Ya sure, aunty knows about you.
The next day morning, Rithika and Uman went to Karans house when Karan left to
college.
Uman knocked the door and Karans mom opened the door, Uman greeted Hi
Aunty, how are you?
My mother said Ohh Uman, Im good. Come inside dear.
My mother said You didnt go to college today ha?
Uman said No aunty. Uman showed Rithika and said Aunty, she is Rithika.
Mom said Good to see you, Rithika. Please sit.
Uman and Rithika sat on sofa and Mom asked Do you want water, Rithika?
Rithika said No, aunty.
Uman said Aunty, you wont ask me ha.
Mom said Uman, today Rithika is our guest right.
Uman smiled and said I was just kidding, aunty. And mom also smiled.
Rithika slowly took out my diary form her and on seeing the diary my moms face
turned dull.
Rithika asked Aunty, this Karans diary.
Mom said So you want to know what was written in those last pages which were
torn.
Uman and Rithika were shocked as my mom predicted exactly what they wanted.

Mom asked Do you love Karan?
Rithika said Yes, Aunty. I love Karan and I expressed my feeling to him also but.
Tears started to roll from her eyes and said for some reasons he is avoiding me
and it hurts me a lot. Im a reserved type girl and I failed to release his true love
before. But I dont know why he is treating me like this. Did he really forget me?
Aunty and she cried out loud.
My mom took Rithika close and consoled her, and said He has never forgotten
you, dear. Even after the accident, he still loves you in his own way.
Rithika asked Then why is he not accepting my love.
My mom said because he always wanted to see you happy even after his
absence.
Rithika got confused and asked I didnt understand.
My mom couldnt hold her tears and started to cry.
Uman asked Aunty, please tell us what happened with a scared face.
My mom finally told the truth that is Before he met with the accident, Karan has a
heart pain and we took him to nearby hospital immediately and we came to know
that it is a life-threatening heart disease. Doctor told us that he may live for few
years or a decade max. So after knowing about the disease, he want to stop loving
and he never tried to express his love. and my mom cried out.
Rithika couldnt believe what she has heard and Uman had no words and didnt
know how to react.
Rithika cried loudly on my moms shoulder and said Why it must happen to
Karan?
Uman cleared his eyes and asked Does he knows about this now?
My Mom said No, we wanted our son to live a normal life. He may have forgotten
his memories but Karans heart didnt forget whom he loved. He avoided Rithika as
his heart still remembers that his life is short.
Rithika said I dont care how long Karan lives, all I want is to live with him till the
end with a shaken voice.

My Mom said You are right dear. One cant sacrifice his love in the name of lifespan. We never know how long we can live.
Rithika said Aunty, I shall change Karans mindset and will again make him fall in
love with me. And I promise that I would let him know about his disease.
My Mom said "Karan is really lucky to have you as his life partner and cleared her
eyes.
Uman said Dont worry, Aunty. Karans heart will be queered in future as
technology is advancing. And I can say that Rithikas love and care are the
medicines which he wants now.
My mom said Yes Uman, I too pray for that.
To divert the topic, my mom took Rithika to my room and showed my entire room
and my childhood photos and talked about me.
Rithika took one of my childhood photos and said Aunty can I have this pic, Karan
is so cute in this photo.
My mom said You can have any photo, dear.
Rithika smiled and kept that pic in her bag.
Rithika and Uman were about to start and my mom said Be strong, Rithika. Never
cry before Karan. He uses to tell me that he hates to see you tears.

Both left my house and came to college.
It was afternoon and I got bored listening to classes without my friends. I decided
to bunk the afternoon classes but lab was there.
To my surprise, Rithika and Uman came to college.

Uman said To meet Rithikas relative we went with a low voice.
Rithika to herself Be strong, Rithika. You need to take care of your soul mate.
Rithika said Hey Karan, we have lab in the afternoon na to divert Umans mood.
I said yes, Rithika.
Rithika said then we came on time.
I said Ya, if you guys didnt come then I would have gone mad.

I said dont worry, buddy. I draw the diagrams and Rithika shall write the manual

Uman said Thats my buddy and hugged me emotionally for few seconds.
I said Dont be senti and laughed at him.
Rithika caught my hand for the first time and said Hey boss, we got less time.
Lets finish off our things.
I dont know why but I felt that Rithika wanted to take care of me.
I said Yes yes lets finish it.
After the college, I dropped Rithika at her house and she said Hey Karan, do you
know that today is World hug day.
I said Oh now I get why Uman hugged me today.. ha ha..
Rithika said Can I hug you?
I said As you are my best friend? You can.
Rithika immediately hugged me and said happy world hug day and my heart
could feel Rithikas heart beat and they were in sync. I never felt my heart this
much light and pleasant. May be this is the feeling of being loved.
Rithika to herself I wish you can feel my love though my heart beat.
We were hugging each other for few seconds and I liked that feeling.
Rithika took out her hand with a big smile on her face and said thank you, Karan.

I can read your eyes:
Rithika didnt eat food that night and she was crying whole night after she came
across the truth about me. On that night, I got a dream where Rithika was crying
alone near a beach. I woke up suddenly and realized that it was just a dream.
As she was my close friend, I got worried about her and I called her early in the
morning and asked Hey are you fine?
I generally dont call anyone on phone so Rithika was in a shock on hearing that
question. She took few seconds to respond and she said Im good, Karan. Good
morning.
I could find a change in her voice and I said Ok fine. Today I will pick you from
home.
Rithika said Ya sure, Karan.
It was 8 am and I reached Rithikas house and I called her out.
Rithika came out wearing black goggles and she wore an orange colour t-shirt and
jeans.
I was starring at her and she greeted me Hi Karan..
I too greeted her Hi Rithika, you look nice in orange dress.
She blushed and said Thank you, Karan. This is first time you have complemented
me. Can I know what the day made me special? and she laughed.
I started things what made her special today and suddenly I remembered the
dream.
My heart was telling Hey Karan, something is wrong with her eyes. Ask her to

She approached near the bike and said These are made by local company, not a

I said Oh then can I take a look at your goggles.

I took out her goggles to see her eyes but she closed her eyes.

I caught her hands and said I dont care about the infection. Just show me your

She slowly opened her eyes with difficulty.
I was shocked to see red eyes of her which were fully dried up as if she was crying
whole night.
I asked What happened? Rithika.
She said I got a bad dream and I couldnt sleep whole night and inside I cant
tell you the truth, Karan.
I said It is strange but I too got a dream where I saw you crying for someone.
Rithika smiled and said So you were dreaming of me.
Rithika to herself May be we are separated by miles but our hearts can still sense
each others love and care.
After hearing the question, I was dumb struck and didnt knew how to reply.
I said May be I care for you more.
Rithika to herself Idiot, you love me more.
Rithika said Now I get it why you called me early morning.
I smiled and said ha ha nothing.
I asked her again why dont you take rest today?
Rithika said I dont want to miss any of the time spending with you.

Rithika got onto the bike and I started the bike.
I didnt ask her about that bad dream as I dont want her to cry again.
While I was driving the bike, Rithika asked can we go somewhere else today.
I applied the brakes and asked Rithika, you.. the topper asking me to buck the
classed. Am I dreaming?
Rithika pinched me and I screamed aaucchh.. and she asked is that enough?
I said Ok OK Im not dreaming. So where did you planned to go?
Rithika said To your favourite place.
I asked you mean beach.

I laughed and said Not like that Rithika. My mom use to tell me that I always
talked about one girl and it was you before I met with the accident and I started
to drive the bike slowly.
Rithika was listing to my words and was not talking.
We reached the beach and it was 9am.
We both sat side by side on the sea shore sand and watching the waves. It was a
cloudy day and the weather was so good.
Rithika said nice weather na.. Karan.
I said yes, Rithika.
Rithika said What makes the Sea special to you?
I said I like the waves which touch the shore continuously. No matter what the
weather be. They never stop.
Rithika said Even love is like those waves. Once a feeling starts in our heart, it

I couldnt understand what her intention was but I said Ya, I promise you, Rithika.
I would always be on your side those words just came out of my heart and later I
released that it is a big promise.
Rithika felt happy and gave a big smile.

Karan. Suddenly you started liking her. Am I getting my memories back after that

I said ha ha nothing.
Rithika said Dont feel shy? You loved me once and use to stare at me at college.
Rithika to herself I feel that my sweetheart memories are returning back.
I started feeling uncomfortable after hearing those words and how I was before
the accident.
I said Shall me have ice cream? to divert the topic.
Rithika said ya sure. I want chocolate flavor.
I said me too.
Rithika to herself I know what you like and what you dont like. I shall be like you
in every way; the way you loved me, the way you cared for me.
I took to chocolate cones from nearby shop and we started to walk along the
shore.
Rithika said It is so nice to walk along with you. It is so romantic, right.
Whatever I do with her, it turns into love for her. Oh man, why I ignore her, why
my heart is so soft with her. My heart tells dude, take care of the lady. She is very
precious to me. But the problem is I dont remember her memories.
I said ya, its cloudy today and cool breeze is touching us.
Rithika said with a low voice I wish my words reach your heart that I love you so
much.
I heard something from Rithika who was walking one step back of me and I turned
my face towards her and asked What did you say? Rithika.
Rithika said My cone fell down and she became sad for that.

Rithika said No, we walked too far from the shop. I want my ice cream and gave
an awful look which melted my heart in seconds.

Before I could realize that I was tricked by her, my ice cream was in her hands and
she started running away from me.
I chased her shouting Hey Rithika that is my ice cream. Give it back.
Rithika to herself Ha ha I intentionally made my cone fall on ground so that I can
taste yours. And I succeeded.
Rithika started running in backward direction facing Karan and said Dont cry like
a small kid, catch me if you can.
I got really fire up and starred chasing her with full force. I caught her and she
stopped running but didnt stop eating my ice cream.
I pleased her Hey Rithika, leave some ice cream for me..
Rithika right away gave me the remaining ice cream.
We sat on the sand again and I was finishing my ice cream.
Rithika asked Karan, why was I crying in your dream?
A gentle cool breeze went through me and I felt chilled. I said You were crying
because me for some reason. And after seeing your eyes, I felt that your heart got
hurt due me. So I wanted to take care of you today.
Rithika said No, it was not because of you, Karan. But when you are with me I feel
very secure and happy. Thank you Karan, for all your love.
I was still having some guilty feeling.
Rithika asked Can I sleep for a while on your lap?
I couldnt say no to her and I said ya no problem, Rithika.
Rithika kept her head on my lap and I made her comfortable.
I placed my bag in front her face so that sand doesnt blew over her.
I never noticed that Rithika had long hair, I touched her hair gently.
I was watching her eyebrows and they look great with a wave like shape.
After 20 minutes, Rithika woke up and said Sorry for all the trouble, Karan. Last
night I couldnt sleep na.
I said hey its not a big deal.
She said But you might have felt uncomfortable na.

I was caught red handed and I turned my face towards beach to avoid eye contact
with Rithika.
Rithika smiled and said ha ha.. There is nothing feel shy.
I said shall we return back to your home.
Rithika said Too soon..
I looked at the sky and said It may rain, so lets leave the place.
Rithika said ya fine Karan and again her face turned dull.
We came back to parking place and Rithika was shivering a bit.
I asked are you feeling cold?
She said No Im fine.
I said Your words can bluff me but not you and she kept quiet.
Rithika said to herself you can hide the truth but not your pain, Karan
I took out my jerkin from my bag and gave her.
Rithika wore the jerkin and sat behind.
While riding the bike, I asked Rithika, can I ask you one crazy question?
Rithika said ya you can ask anything, Karan.
I slowed down my bike and asked You know na Im a racer and it is not a safe
game.

Rithika said Yes.. I know but you are a good racer. You always give your 100% and
we always pray for your safety, Karan.
I said ya, but if I met with a serious injury and I got very less time to live. Then
what will be your reaction.
Rithika cried inside Please dont tell me that you know the truth regarding your
disease.
Rithika asked Just a question na..
I said Yes Rithika, Nothing to worry.
Rithika hugged me from behind and said I would hug you like this and I wont cry
because you dont like me crying before you. I will stay along your side every
minute. I shall make you realize that you still have so much time to love and to be
loved.
I asked What will you do if I leave this world?
Rithika said I just cant imagine a world without you. And I pray that I should not
come across that situation. I dont mind even if you dont love me. All I want is to
see you living a happy life and she started crying.
I said Thank you, Rithika. For loving me so much even when I avoided you.
Rithika asked I have answered all your questions. Now I have one wish.
I said Ya, I will try to fulfill it.
Rithika said I want my Karan back.
I applied sudden brakes and asked Thats not in my hands.
Rithika said You think only you can read others eyes. I know that he is looking at
me through your eyes. He loved me and will always love me. You may not
remember me but the Karan whom I know will never forget me, no matter what
happens.
I asked you think I still love you.
Rithika said Yes, I believe that you still remember me and you still love me and
she hugged me tightly.
I started my bike and I dropped her at her house.

Chapter 13:
A Letter:
It was early in the morning and Rithikas mom came inside her room and Rithika
was still sleeping.
Her mom said Rithika wake up, you got a letter.
Rithika asked From whom mom.. I never received any letter in my life.
Her mom said It is from your friend, Karan.
Rithika fell from her bed on hearing my name and said really.
Her mom said Yes, Im telling the truth. If you are not interested, I will read it.
Rithika jumped from her bed and snatched the letter from her mother.
Mother laughed and said Oh ho.. you are really excited to read the letter.
Rithika to herself What would he have written? Is it a goodbye letter or a love
letter? Oh god, Im getting mad.
Rithika slowly opened the cover and she took utmost care in cutting it.
She started reading the letter and I have written
Dear Rithika,
May be writing a letter is old way of conveying our feeling but I like writing letters
to my friends and you know that. First let me tell you about my dream, in that
dream I have met with an accident and I left this world. And my absence was the
reason for your tears in my dream. In my dream also you said the same words that
you are ready to live without my love but not ready to live without me on this
world. May be that is called true love.
I was scared of this world when I came to realize that I lost my memories. But
Uman and you gave me confidence to live. I dont know about myself so I couldnt
dare to accept your love. All I could remember was I like racing and I loved a girl.
After you hugged me, my heart started saying that she is the one who loves you
but I was not clear. But your words which you spoke yesterday made me realize
how foolish I was.
Yes you were right Rithika, my heart still remembers you and always loves you
forever.
World looks beautiful when you see it from moon.
You are the most beautiful world when you see yourself from my eyes

I opened my arms and she came and hugged me.
I said I Love you, Rithika. And Im sorry for everything.
Rithika said I dont care what has happened in the past. All I wanted is your love,
Karan. I love you too.

Chapter 14:
Miracle:
After finishing their college, I became a racer at international level and Uman took
all the responsibilities as a manger for him. Rithika took care of my health every
minute. She treated me more like a small baby.
After 1 year I won the world title and I announced to press that I shall be marrying
Rithika.
Rithika didnt expect that from me saying about marriage proposal like that and
she cried with joy.
I didnt know about my disease and I was given treatment every month without
my notice.
I was gifted with an angel in our family by the God after 2 years of our marriage.
One 5 years, a miracle happened that is technology got advanced to treat my heart
disease which was at critical point.
And then Rithika explained me everything to me.
I was in tears and Rithika hugged me and cried.
I said Thank you dear for giving another life.
Rithika said We live for each other and I thank God for giving us one more life.
My operation was success and everyone celebrated that day like a birthday.
We all lived happily thereafter.
