About Summer
Crush Games
The Summer Crush Games
are a CrossFit competition
open to athletes worldwide,
an event that tests fitness and
capacity.
The Games are designed to unite and
challenge fitness enthusiasts. Our goal is to
provide an avenue for these athletes to display
their skills. Competitions are an essential
source of motivation and acknowledgement,
creating a stage to share the results of hard
work with peers, family and friends.
Events supporting the rapidly growing CrossFit
community in America are in demand, and we
have a clear perspective of what the fitness
community desires in a competition.

ABOUT THE GAMES

The Sport of Fitness


Endurance, Stamina, Strength,
Flexibility, Coordination, Agility,
Balance, Accuracy, Power, Speed
Using the CrossFit methodology fitness is
defined as increased work capacity across
broad time and modal domains. Athletes are
challenged to rigorous training and consistent
practice in order to increase their capacity to do
real work over time.

Training yields endurance, stamina, strength
and flexibility. By contrast, improvements in
coordination, agility, balance and accuracy are
obtained through practice. Power and speed
are adaptations of both.
Only by testing all of these skills can we truly
find who is fit.
Through gymnastics we develop extraordinary
strength along with upper body and trunk
flexibility. Callisthenic movements such as pullups, push-ups, dips and rope climbing, develop

coordination, balance, agility and accuracy.


Olympic weight lifting tests athletes strength,
speed, power and flexibility. The clean, jerk and
the snatch, develop and improve coordination,
agility, accuracy and balance. These lifts are as
challenging as any movement in all of sport.
CrossFit workouts (WODS) are composed of a
broad range of functional movements, such as
gymnastics, Olympic and power lifts. These are
the core movements of life, found everywhere
and built naturally into our DNA. They move the
largest loads the longest distances quickly and
effectively. These movements form the basis of
our exercise program.

receives over 60 new affiliation
applications per month

The East Coast of the United States holds


the most CrossFit boxes at 1160 and rapidly
climbing. In Florida, Georgia, Alabama and
South Carolina alone sit 410 locations.

Crush Games is directly related to the
development 15 CrossFit locations and owns
5 of them.

Who hosts Summer


Crush Games?
The Summer Crush Games event is operated
by the I Am CrossFit family. With five locations
in Miami, we are proud to be the largest CrossFit
family in the world. The average CrossFit box
holds 200 members. Our close-knit family
consists of 2,100 members and counting. We
are the leaders in the Southeast CrossFit
community.

ABOUT THE GAMES

We Made It Larger
In Every Aspect
Due to the success of last years
event we felt obligated to push the
boundaries in 2012.
The 2012 Summer Crush Games will create
more opportunities (and rewards) for athletes
and their supporters.
Our mission is to provide an event that will
recreate the environment and grandeur of the
official CrossFit Games. Crossfitters, regardless
of their fitness capacity, should feel the rush
of WODing in a major competition. With nearly
500 registration slots available and two days of
events, this years games are twice the size.
We have also added a twist to the team
competition in order to add an element of box
pride, not seen up until now. Teams register

under the CrossFit box where they train. Once


scores are tallied, we will combine scores for
men and women training at the same box, and
name the Summer Crush Games FITTEST
BOX.

5,000 SPECTATORS EXPECTED


The Games will include live entertainment
by popular, local bands and DJs. A centrally
located stage placed at the heart of the event
brings athletes and spectators together.
Over a dozen well-known Miami food trucks
fuel the day. Families and young children enjoy
the bounce houses, rides and games in the Fun
Zone. Four-hundred fifty six athletes vie for the
Top title in their respective divisions.

thirty vendors and 3 food trucks. Other notable
sponsors included athletic companies such as
Specialized Fitness Resources.

VENDORS:
Apparel was sold by leaders in the
community, such as Life As RX, 3-2-1
Apparel, and Fashletics. Top nutrition gurus
like Everyday Paleo and The Primal Blueprint
donated prizes to the winners.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:

EVENT DETAILS:
SCG will provide that stage for the scaled
athletes on Saturday. The grand finale event
will have all eyes focused on them. By Saturday
night, we will crown a top male and female
scaled.
Rx will begin their weekend Saturday afternoon
with the SCG Total, a test of strength, power
and speed. These amazing athletes will need
to put up big numbers if they plan on staying

in the forefront going into Sunday. Sunday will


showcase the RX athletes in fast, fun, yet brutal
workouts. Sunday afternoon we name the top
male and female athletes.
The Teams Division format will be new in
2012, dividing the teams into male and female
divisions. 36 male and 36 female teams will
compete in their same gender division to find
the top three athletes. Top Male team and top
Female team will be announced by the end of
the day on Sunday.
