INTRODUCTION
Sales and Inventory System is designed for a business that desires a control over
stock levels and inventory tracking. This system can be used either as simple inventory
control system or a complete manufacturing solution. In todays generation, people are
engaged in highly computerized technology aiming to enhance individual lifestyle and
most especially in the world of business.
Quick Aimfire was established on September 2011 and it is located at Centennial
Road, BatongDalig, Kawit, Cavite. Quick Aimfire is currently under the supervision of its
owner, Mr. Allan Pedraza. It is a family business that offers guns, ammunitions, gun parts
and accessories.
The study will be conducted to develop a system to give more convenience to the
owner in managing the business. It will help to lessen time consumed in creating reports,

keeping and retrieving of sales and inventory records. Also, computing for the income of
the business would be a simple task.

Statement of the Problem

The developers found out that there were certain problems encountered in Quick
Aimfire Guns & Ammo. No computerized process and software is being used thatcauses
time consuming in making reports, unsecured records, and slow data processing in the
sales.
Specifically, this study sought to answer the following problems:
1. How to provide an organize sales and inventory record?
2. How to lessen the time it takes to create daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports?
3. How to monitor properly the inventory recordsin more effective way?

Importance of the Study

Based on the interviews conducted by the developers, the Quick Aimfire Guns
and Ammo wants to improve the current manual recording and storing of sales and
inventory records. In addition, the creation of sales and inventory reports in daily, weekly
and monthly basis. The manual recording tends to have bigger time for searching and
storing the guns and ammo data.Furthermore, the files are more prone to lost or
deterioration since all records is compiled in a log book.
This study is about a Sales and Inventory System of Quick Aimfire Guns &
Ammo that will help the Quick Aimfire Guns and Ammo to solve the problems

mentioned. The beneficiary of the system is the Quick Aimfire Guns and Ammo business
in terms of enhancing their current process in the store.

Objectives of the Study

The general objective of the study is to develop a computerized Sales and
Inventory System.
Specifically, it aims to:
1. design a Sales and Inventory System for Quick Aimfire Guns & Ammo with the
following features:
a. Transaction management

b. Sales record tracking

c. Inventory stocks monitoring
d. Sales and inventory reports generation
2. create the system using Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 as frontend and Microsoft
SQL Server 2008 as backend;
3. test and improve the system; and
4. evaluate the performance of the system using ISO 9126.

Time and Place of the Study

This study will be conducted at Quick Aimfire Guns & Ammo located at
Centennial Road, Kawit, Cavite from March 2014 to March 2015.

Scope and Limitation of the Study

The Sales and Inventory System of Quick Aimfire Guns & Ammo attempts to
help the business for storing and recording the sales and inventory data of guns,
ammunitions, gun parts and accessories. The system will have two main users the
administrator which is the owner of the business that has the access to the records and all
processes in the system, and the assigned personnel which has limited access and
restriction.
In terms of system features, the Sales and Inventory System of Quick Aimfire
Guns and Ammo mainly covers the recording, storing and updating their sales and
inventory record, though specifically, it will contain three modules.
The first module will include the Sales for checking the sales record and the total
sales for a specific date.
The second module embraces inventory, which the owner can add the quantity and
new products for the inventory. In addition, this module is for record keeping of the total
products that they have and include the list of the damage or defective products.
The third module includes transaction, for the buyer to purchase an item that
Quick Aimfire offers.
The system will be developed using Visual Basic 2010 for the Graphical User
Interface (GUI) of the system, ADOBE Photoshop CS6 for enhancing the image designs
and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 served as the system database.
The system limitations are, cannot be networked, no printing of receipt. In addition,
the system is preferred to run on Windows family operating system only.

Conceptual Framework

Figure 1. Conceptual model of the study

The conceptual model is based on the input, process, and output model of study.
The input block includes knowledge requirements, software requirements and hardware
requirements.
System Requirements includes, Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 andMySQL. The
only requirement in hardware is computer itself.

The process block includes system design, system development and system
testing and improvement.
The output block includes the finished system. Input, process and output are the
steps and detailed requirements needed in the system. The four blocks are those steps o
finished the system. The developers need to know the knowledge, software and hardware
requirements as long as how it would be done.
