Chip Mills Announces Candidacy for Congress

Chip Mills, a lawyer in private practice in Fulton, Mississippi, who also serves as Itawamba County
Prosecutor, announced his candidacy for the First Congressional District. He issued the following
statement:

As a lifelong resident of the First Congressional District, I know that the people of
North Mississippi are hard-working, tax-paying, family-oriented Americans.
I am a product of those values and want to take them to Washington.

Washington is broken. It is time to give the next generation of conservative leaders an
opportunity to speak. This district deserves a leader who has integrity and the ability
to serve all constituents.

I look forward to promoting economic growth and stability for North Mississippi. As a
husband and father, I understand the importance of protecting our traditional family
values. It is my belief that the role of government should promote individual and
economic freedoms through limited government principles and fiscal restraint.

As a candidate who is not a career politician, and as a product of rural North
Mississippi, I have the ability and desire to represent and serve all of North Mississippi.
During the next two months, I hope to hear from as many constituents as possible as I
travel across the district.

Chip has lived in the First Congressional District his entire life. He grew up in Monroe and
Itawamba counties and is a product of their public schools. He earned his engineering and law
degrees from the University of Mississippi, where he was also a walk-on member of the football
team. As an Assistant District Attorney and as a County Prosecuting Attorney, Chip has prosecuted
high-profile crimes. He also maintains a small-town private law practice where he represents the
City of Fulton and Town of Mantachie. Chip is married to his high school sweetheart, Jada, a
teacher. They have two boys, Luke, 4, and Levi, 2, and attend Fulton United Methodist Church.
