3. Concluding remarks
So our experimental work will include tests to predict the durability of alkali-activated
mortars using GGBS only on exposure to sulphuric acid solutions of varying proportions
whereas keeping alkali/silicate ratio and sand /GGBFS ratio constant.
We will check the effects on the mortars on exposure to the sulphuric acid solution by
various methods like change in weight, change in compressive strength, UPV test before
and after exposure to sulphuric acid solution, and doing the optical microscope test to
check the physical appearance and also Scanning Electron Microscopic Test.
Total no. of cubes to be casted for sulphuric acid exposure is equal to 200 cubes before
puja vacation.
