6. COURSE DESCRIPTION
:
This course is continuation from English for Nursing 1 (EFN 1) and it is designed to prepare students on Test of English as a Foreign
Language (TOEFL) and National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), and job seeker for nursing.
Students will learn about concepts and principles of appropriated listening, structure, reading comprehension, and writing skills for
TOEFL test and general strategies and the professional instruction you required for understanding NCLEX test. Job seeker for nursing
consists of speaking and writing skills in job application. This course is expected for studying on the go and tackling the exact kinds of
questions tested on official exam. Each topic covers the essential facts and practice students need to get prepared for their exams as well
as tips on where to go for more detailed practice and further information.

7. LEARNING OUTCOMES

After completion of this course, students will be able to:


1. To have the confidence and knowledge you need for maximizing students performances on their TOEFL
2. To have the confidence and knowledge about nursing job

11. Mechanism
a. Class is divided into two classes
b. Each class will be delivered at the same time that supervised by one mentor
c. Students in a smaller class will be divided into several small groups as requested to conduct a further discussion in each week
session
d. Students need to purchase a handbook that suggested by lecturer to accommodate more understanding and comprehension about
TOEFL test and NCLEX test
e. Students are able to use standard modules

12. Group Assignments


a. Each group consists of at least five persons.
b. Nursing Documentation: each group does nursing care to a person with or without disease using nursing process approach. The
group makes nursing documentation of it. The presentation of nursing documentation will be conducted on October 30, 2014.
groups must be ready despite only five groups will present their discussion.

c. Nursing Research: Each group needs to discuss about the research articles (correlative study, experimental study, and qualitative
study) and presents the results of discussion at class. The group could choose the articles used and they need to be approved by
lecture. The presentation will be conducted on November 13 and 19 2014. All groups must be ready despite only five groups will
present their discussion. All articles used need to be shared to the lecture and all students at least three days before presentation.
