FIVE FACTS ABOUT WINTER HAZARDS

The wind strengthens the possibility of frostbite.
Remember about it when preparing to go
to work and whilst listening to the weather
forecast. The table below will help you to know
how cold it will be outside.

Icicles form mainly on the south side.

Icing is a thin and slippery layer that is formed
on the constructions such as bridges. Damages
of the bridges happen not so much because of
snow and wind, but due to ice accumulated on
these constructions.

When moving a load, some things, instruments

may fall and get hidden under the snow.
The ground level changes after heavy snow
falls. If, for example, in summer some parts of
equipment were three metres above you, then
in winter because of snow these obstacles
will be lower, which introduces the hazard of
getting an injury.

BE CAREFUL!
ICICLES!
Remember, rising
temperatures or
vibration due to
machinery or construction
activity, opening/
closing of doors/
windows can result in
icicles falling to ground.
