THE CONCEPT

David Charlton started hair-dressing in the U. K- at the age of

16. While working in his Uncles (Jeffrey) salon, he also
attended Durham Technical Collegefor 3 years and passed with
Distinction the City and Guilds of London Institute Examination
in Mens and Ladies Hairdressing. He then went on to South
Shields Technical College where he passed with Distinction the
Advanced City and Guilds of LondonInstitute Examination in
Mens and Ladies Hairdressing. He then went on to teach
hairdressing at the South Shields College.
After attending seminars and workshops in London David in turn
conducted many workshops for the North East Hairdressers
Federation. In 1978 David came to Manila to manage the Rever
Salon in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. After becoming a partner
and then sole owner, David expanded the Rever Salons to 5
locations.
By 1989 David realized there was a void in the Philippine market
for a salon that would provide high quality hairdressing at very
reasonable prices. So the first salon located in New Farmers
Market, Araneta Center, Quezon City was established.
Within the next 4-5 years David, going into partnership with
business acquaintances, opened another 13 Davids Salons. David
again realizing that there was a-nationwide demand for his
salons then opened up to the idea of allowing people to apply for
a partnership.
Since then the Davids salon group has expanded to 107 salons
operational to date with 6-8 salons under construction or in the
planning stage.

David foresees further expansion very probable within the

Philippines. As the countrys economy in general improves and
individual cities and towns grow so then will their need for high
quality hairdressing at reasonable prices. David also has plans to
expand into Asia as the opportunity presents itself.

SERVICES OFFERED:
Hair Treatments

Gives you the hair that shine and more healthy

Oxygen Hair Treatments
The new frontier for hair care is oxygen therapy, it
facilitates microcirculation and improves the health of
scalp.
Modern hair dyes are classified as permanent (or
oxidative), semipermanent, and temporary. Permanent
hair dyes, which make up about 80 percent of currently
marketed products, consist of colorless dye
intermediates
Digital Hair Perming
is a perm that uses hot rods with the temperature
regulated by a machine with a digital display, hence the
name.[1] The process is otherwise similar to that of a
traditional perm. The name "digital perm" is
copyrighted by a
Japanese company, Paimore Co. Hairstylists usually call
it a "hot perm."
Hair Rebonding
Rebonding is a chemical hair treatment that makes
your hair straight, sleek and shiny. It is a permanent
and expensive procedure. Prices for the treatment may
vary across salons due to products used, service, your
hair type and post treatment care.

Hands Nails Feet Services

MANICURE: is a cosmetic beauty treatment for
the fingernails and hands performed at home or in
a nail salon. A manicure treatment is not only a
treatment for the natural nails, but also for the hands.
A manicure consists of filing, shaping of the free edge,
treatments, massage of the hand and the application
of polish.

PEDICURE: is a way to improve the appearance of the

feet and the nails. It provides a similar service to

a manicure. The word pedicure refers to superficial
cosmetic treatment of the feet and toenails. A
pedicure can help prevent nail diseases and
nail disorders. Pedicures are done for cosmetic,
theraputic and medical purposes.

Hot oil manicure

is a specific type of manicure that cleans the
cuticles and softens them with oil. It works well for
dry skin and nails that are brittle as it improves
them both by leaving them soft and pliable. Types
of oils that can be used are mineral oil, olive oil or
commercial preparation in an electric heater.
Paraffin treatment
Hands can be dipped in melted paraffin wax for
softening and moisturizing. Paraffin wax is used

because it can be heated to temperatures of over

95 F (35 C) without burning or injuring the hand.
The intense heat allows for deeper absorption of
emollients and essential oils.

Hair Removal/ Waxing

less painful, and epilation can be done on the
armpit, shoulder, legs, bikini line and any other part
of the body you like.
Hair Spa
A Spa Hair Treatment makes for a great
conditioning treatment for my hair and a relaxing
day at the same time. Try it and take your hair from
stressed (by hair-color, sun, wind, blow-drying, etc)
to silky, shiny, bouncy; all while pampering yourself.
Facial exfoliation
a mechanical or chemical exfoliant. Mechanical
exfoliants have a gritty texture that rubs away the
surface dead skin cells. This type of exfoliation
usually happens during the steam. Chemical
exfoliation uses enzymes and acids to loosen the
bond between skin cells. A gentle enzyme treatment
can be done during the steam

Facial Extraction

. This is the removal of blackheads or whiteheads if

you want it and need it. People have different pain
tolerance for extractions. They can be
uncomfortable, especially on thin or ruddy skin.
Extractions can cause broken capillaries and
discoloration if done improperly.

Facial Mask
targeted to your skin type (dry, oily, combination,
sensitive, mature) and condition.

LOCATION:
What about the building itself? The best location can be ruined
by the worst building. Here are some things to look out for:

Is it big enough for all your operators, clients and

equipment?

Is there enough car parking for your clients?

Is the property in acceptable condition?

How much will it cost you to renovate or decorate?

Is the doorway easy to see, enter and use?

Do you have good window space and natural light?

Can you afford to pay the overheads?

You will need to check the conditions of the lease and it is a

good idea to check with the local council and service providers
that the building has everything it needs for your purpose. You
need to know that the building is zoned correctly for your
purposes.
