MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 16-18; Mark 10:27-52
Monday, March 9
WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 22-24; Mark 12:1-22
Wednesday, March 11
Isa. 43:6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my
sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;
John 4:50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the
word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord
added to the church daily such as should be saved.
O Lord, My Father:
This was a word to the seed of Israel who were scattered southward, but I
take it as a summons to myself. Keep not back. Dont hold back!
Look Lord, I know so many people who seem naturally backward to
everything that is right. Use me to give them a lesson of grace and teach them to
go forward in the way with God.
Some of them want to be savedI know they dobecause they want
significance, purpose, and meaning to their lives. They want out of the rut of sin.
Help them keep not back from getting saved. Love invites them. Your promises
ensure their reception. Precious blood has paved the way. Let not their fears
hinder __________ or __________, but help them come to Jesus today.
Do I long to pray? Would I pour out my heart for them to you? Keep not
back. Since I am already saved, then I should keep not back from uniting with this
church and the Lords people in it. I should keep not back from the ordinances of
baptism and the Lords Supper. I may be shy or timid, but I have to fight against
that natural tendency lest it lead me into disobedience.
Do I have talents? Then I should keep not back from surrendering them to
Jesus. Hoard not my tithe. Waste not my time. Let not my abilities rust or my
influence go unused. Teach me to stir-up the spiritual gifts you have given me!
Jesus kept not back. I must imitate him by being in the forefront in selfdenial and self-sacrifice. Help me keep not back from close communion with you,
Lord. Today I come boldly for your blessing. Hell has not held back. Do not
allow me to keep others back by my coldness. I ask it all for Jesus sake. Amen.
Father of Light:
What can I do to see my personal revival reach the lost? Conversion is the
work of your Spirit. Without you I can do nothing. Still yet, there are
circumstances under which your hand will work, just like there are hindrances
that will restrain your power.
1. If my revival is to spread to the lost then I have to watch for the lost
As a rule, we achieve what we attempt. Converting my lost friends is not
something that will happen without me being intentional with my testimony.
Who wins souls that does not desire to win souls? Few businessmen become rich
by accident; they usually have a good business plan. To be rich in saved souls I
need you to give me the grace to work at it, and to witness. Men and women will
not come to Christ if I do not preach Christ, or bring them to others who are
preaching him at church. I pray someone will come to Christ today through my
effort to get them the gospel. Let me bend my whole soul to win souls!
2. I have to press on them the truths that you usually bless
Acts 11:20-21 And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they
were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the
Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
Now thats how to spread revival! If I do not preach Jesus I will not see
people saved. No broken hearts are healed by psychology. Souls are not
saved by intellectual argument. If I diminish the cross I diminish your blessing for
revival. Help me Lord, this day, to be after the lost in the ways youve designed.
Give me grace to spread revival to those whom I know, for Jesus sake. Amen.
Isa. 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I
will strengthen thee
Psa. 44:1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work
thou didst in their days, in the times of old.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.

Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan
Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
