Experience
First Year Interest Group (FIG) Mentor, The University of Texas at Austin; Austin, TX

A FIG mentor is someone who is very similar to a Teachers Assistant. However, FIG mentors develop the syllabus, course outline and daily
lesson plans. I lead a group of anywhere from 15-20 freshmen students, and I meet with them individually so they can adjust to college life
better. I prepare a lesson plan every week, so it betters my time management skills as well as my preparation skills. We discuss topics from
police on campus to how to register for classes. I serve as a transitioning guide from high school to college

Shadowed, WFAA (Sports and News Dept.); Dallas, TX

March 2014 Present

July 2014 July 2014

For a several days I shadowed several reporters at WFAA in Dallas. I shadowed two news reporters, Rebecca Lopez and David Schechter,
and sports reporter, George Riba. I worked alongside two interns as well, which provided me with an opportunity to preview what an
internship would be like. For example, I did my own stand-ups, and watched the cameramen shoot and edit their material with WFAAs
software. Additionally, I entered the sound booth, and heard David Schechter record a voice over.

Sports Editor, Team Editor, Staff Member, Cedar Park High School Yearbook; Austin, TX

August 2009 June 2013

I was a staff member of my high school yearbook all 4 years. My junior year I became a team editor, where I lead a group of 5 other members
on assignments. I gave them their topics, reviewed their pages, and edited their copy and photographs. Additionally my senior year, I became
the sports editor while maintaining my team editor position. I was in charge of all the sports pages and statistics of every game. I edited sports
photographs and copy specifically, and kept record of every games outcome, which was then put into a table in the back of the yearbook.
